    Upcoming appointments: Thursday, weekly checkup

How are you feeling? Done. Over it. As much as I don't want him to have a Christmas birthday, at this point I don't care when he comes bc I don't know if I can make it 2 weeks or more. Tired of the pelvic pain. He's had to have dropped bc I'm officially in waddle mode and there's a lot of pressure down there. I keep feeling like I have discharge and look to see if my mucus plug has come out but it hasnt. I've resorted to sleeping the first half of the night on our couch bc I can prop up better there and don't disturb my husband with snoring. The last two nights I had TERRIBLE trapped gas pains in my upper back and shoulders, so even more lack of sleep in addition to tossing and turning and peeing.

Raves/Rants: rant. Family stuff. Idk if I'm just sensitive from hormones and lack of sleep but every now and then my husband makes some comment that irks me. One day it was his response over a dinner choice I made(being picky and wanting something else) and then a comment about something I can't help, like my walking speed. We were walking to our car after church in the freezing rain last night and I was in front and he said to our son "mommy's taking too long" and rushed around me. I was like I can't go any faster! You can just ask me to move aside so you can get to the car faster instead of saying it in a way like I'm choosing to dilly dally in the freezing rain. I don't expect him to not voice his opinion or thoughts, but have asked him to just use a filter to ask a little nicer or something, but he gets upset that he "can't be himself or speak his mind". Oh and I apparently upset his sister by posting our maternity pictures on social media before letting her see them first. Since she's 40 and will never have any kids of her own one day, she's expecting us to take that into consideration and let her have special privileges in this pregnancy I guess, so now I'm really starting to worry how visiting is going to be this time around since we won't have covid as an excuse to keep a safe distance from everyone.

Baby is the size of a(n): jackfruit

    Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: 🩷

Upcoming appointments: weekly checkup 12/21; induction on 12/29 (if baby doesn’t make an appearance by then)

How are you feeling? Tired and cranky!! Insomnia, snoring, acid reflux and heartburn is kicking my ass! I’ll wake up multiple times — even woke up gasping for air/choking a few times this week because my snoring has gotten progressively worse. Will wake up tired and I am irritable/cranky throughout the day because I can’t get quality sleep.

Raves/Rants: Raves - my mom has been in town for a week and has been cooking up a storm (making all my favorite Korean food), helping with errands and keeping the house clean. Huge help! Rants - I know friends and family mean well but the “how are you feeling”, “it’s the final countdown” and “have you had the baby yet” texts are getting really annoying and just adding to my anxiety (first time mom).

Questions: Did anyone get induced ~a week after your due date? I’m scheduled for an induction on 12/29 (at 40+6) if I don’t have my baby by then. I’m worried about my age (36) but my OB said I have nothing to worry about since I’ve had a normal pregnancy so far. I might be overthinking/overreacting but I feel like it’s too late (but I also want the baby out!)

@jordieburd ugh I’m so sorry for what you’re going through! My husband will make comments here and there that irks me and I’ll close my eyes while he’s talking and take five deep breaths (he’s caught on that I do that so I keep myself calm and not tense up lol). You should not have to run things past your SIL first - it’s your baby and up to you if and when you want to share exciting updates/news with your family/friends!

Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as 8 tennis balls

    Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: 💙

    Upcoming appointments: 40w appt 12/21

How are you feeling? @jordieburd i cannot empathize more. I can only sleep in about 1 hour intervals, everything hurts, started getting hemorrhoids with all the pelvic pressure, and I am so emotional. Started crying during a walk because my pelvis hurts so bad I just want this to be over. So excited to meet my baby but I’m hitting a wall. I knew the last few weeks would be hard but man this hardcore sucks. Sorry super negative this week! It will all be worth it once our little babies are born and we can do this!!!

Raves/Rants: I wish friends/family would stop asking me how I’m doing and if the baby is on its way.  It is a constant reminder that I may have 2.5 more weeks of this constant discomfort 😣. Also my husband was on the same page regarding visiting boundaries and suddenly he’s talking about letting his parents visit while I’m in the hospital. I was completely blindsided since he has been so supportive of letting me heal and being the gatekeeper so to speak of visitors. Ugh

Questions: the last cervical check I had hurt really bad and I was cramping for hours after. Has anyone had luck looking at the Hobbs Line/ purple line for cervical dilation? it would be nice to have something I could check at home instead of going through the check again at the doctors office.

How are you feeling? Feeling the Same. No real labor signs ! Mucus plug fell out last wednesay & Thursday, but nothing else since then!

    Upcoming appointments: Wednesday, NST

How are you feeling? 😩 I’m so ready.

Raves/Rants: I can empathize with everyone’s feelings listed…. The acid reflux right now is preventing me from getting any sleep. I got a total of 4 hours. I still have 4 more days of work before I’m taking PTO and honestly not sure how I’m going to cope. I’ve been curb walking twice daily, eating dates, drinking red raspberry tea, sitting on the yoga ball and doing pelvic exercises. I’m hoping for really good news on Wednesday. Last Friday I was 50% effaced, no dilation, baby was at -2 station. I’m reallllly trying to avoid the induction so hopefully there is at least 1cm dilated so we can try for a membrane sweep….

    Questions: none at this point.
  • @benderisgreat12-23 I totally hear you! And it’s okay to be totally done. I really feel like it’s natures way of making sure that birthing the kiddo seems better than keeping it in 🤣 hang in there! Hopefully we will be seeing your announcement soon!
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 38 + 5

Baby is the size of a(n): Bowling Pin

    Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: 🩵

Upcoming appointments: I had a regular weekly checkup today. We are on the list for induction on Friday!

How are you feeling? Anxious, nervous, scared, excited! I am feeling so many emotions. We will possibly be induced (elective) this weekend. I had my first cervical check today, and I am 1cm dilated. So, I will need to go into the hospital the night before inducement for cervical ripening. Physically, I feel good. I still haven’t really experienced any labor symptoms.

Raves/Rants: The cervix check was really uncomfortable to me and kind of hurt. That makes me so nervous for everything related to labor and delivery if just the cervix check hurts me that much ugh. My mom comes into town on Friday and I’m really excited for her to be here! It’s crazy that Christmas is in less than a week - the only thing I can think about is baby! 😊

Questions: If you have experienced inducement with a foley balloon, what was your experience like?
  • UPDATE:
Had my 40 week check up on Tuesday.
    I’m now 40w 2 days

I am still 1 cm dilated, but progress to 50% effaced (0% last week), and he is now at -2 station (was at -3). I had my midwife perform another membrane sweep to see if things will continue to progress to labor ! but overall very happy.

We did schedule an Induction for week 41 and 5 days if we have to get to that point. I’ll be getting a non stress test done at 41weeks to make sure baby is still happy and healthy.

@foreverhughes4123 - all your feelings are normal and valid !! Very exciting time for you. You’re going to be holding your little one so soon!

I haven’t had any signs of labor at all either but that doesn’t mean you can’t spontaneously start! I’m learning everyone and their experience is extremely different !

do you plan on using any medications for labor ? That will help you a lot with the pain and discomfort. Cervical checks are not fun.

I also agree that it’s crazy to think Christmas is so soon, my entire focus has been baby that it keeps slipping my mind.

  • @mayghen18 I hope your appointment goes well today ! And keep us updated ! I just had my second membrane sweep yesterday and hoping it brings me closer to labor or makes my body progress more !

I’ve been doing all the remedies you have as well since week 36 ! Keep them up! They are helping. I have even been using my breast pump 2-3 times a day (my midwife said I could). Maybe that’s another option for you !!

Either way let us know how it goes today!
  • @ayspilks27 Yes, I want any medication they can give me as soon as possible! That’s the first thing I’m going to tell them when I get to the hospital.
  • EDD/Weeks + days: 39 weeks today!

Baby is the size of a(n): Pumpkin

Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: Pink! Third girl for us.

Upcoming appointments: Pre op appointment tomorrow morning, c section scheduled for Friday morning.

How are you feeling? Anyone else experiencing what I *think* is prodromal labor? Never went into labor with my old two girls so this is new territory. The last 2 days I’ve had consistent contractions every 8/7/6 mins for literally 8+ hours but just not progressing. I know my body is doing what it needs to prepping for labor but it has been exhausting tracking, getting to the 6 min mark for over an hour and then they go back to 7/8 mins or fizzle to 10+. Since I know I need a c section even if I go into labor I’ve been trying to eat super lite since you can’t eat 8 hours before surgery…they’ve already started back up this morning so I’m on day 3 and I think I’m just going to eat a big ass breakfast because I’m so hungry lol!

Raves/Rants: None really other than the above! Really excited to meet baby on Friday, just trying to mentally prepare and get in a good head space for the things I know give me anxiety. I HATE the anesthesia/pain meds…I get nauseous so easily so it stresses me out. I also just hate that I get to see the baby after delivery for literally 2 seconds and then her and daddy leave and I’m by myself just dying to get out of there so I can be with them. Thankful I know what to expect but it’s still hard for me.

Really excited for everyone!!!!!! We are all so close!!
  • EDD/Weeks + days: Baby is 1 w +2 days old

Baby is the size of a(n): 5lbs 15oz

Just a update on our first week with baby!

How are you feeling? I'm feeling great! Swelling is gone almost completely. Tired and grateful.

Raves/Rants: Because baby was born in the 10th percentile for her gestational age and there was some concern about weight loss. I was also have issues getting her to latch to one breast due to scar tissue from a previous piercing, which caused that breast to stop producing. After working with a lactation consultant and doing a combination of breast feeding and pumping I think we are back on track. Baby is back to her birth weight after one week! 💪🏻 She is a very good baby so far and is not super fussy. We are on a very strict feeding schedule which is a lot but my husband has been very helpful and I think we are getting into a rhythm.

So excited to see everyone else birth announcements! It won't be long now. Wishing everyone the best with their birth stories, I hope everything goes smoothly and quickly. 💕
