    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

    Baby is the size of a (an): Papaya, or as heavy as a toaster oven

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

    Upcoming Appointments: US and Strep B swab tomorrow, also going to see if my OB will do a cervical check. 

    How are you feeling?: Not bad. Uncomfortable, but no other symptoms really so I can't complain. 

    Rants/Raves: At work my counterpart told me that he "didn't realize" I go on WFH as early as I do, so now he needs to take the next week and a half off to get "mentally ready" for my absence for the next 4 months. Trying not to judge, I don't know what's going on in his life outside of work- but still a bit frustrated that I won't have the support of my teammate for my last 1.5 weeks in office and that our manager actually approved it. Oh well, out of my control I guess, and trying not to dwell on it- but figured I'd vent one more time to get it out of my system! lol

    Questions: Where did everyone go?? Last week was so quiet.

    Hey!

    My little guy arrived at 1:37am on Sunday morning! 37 weeks and 5 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: first time

    Baby is the size of a (an): 7lbs 6 oz and 19.6” 😱


    Upcoming Appointments: A little complicated, but I’m being discharged tomorrow morning, have to wait and see about the baby. He’s currently in the NICU (doing really well!)

    How are you feeling?: overwhelmed? He came so much sooner than we thought, and he had a bit of a crazy entry into the world. Thankfully he’s improved SO much, he’s breathing on his own and is going to hopefully start eating orally tomorrow. 

    Rants/Raves: I’m glad I tried labour, but I’m also glad we listened to the OB when we were told it wasn’t going to happen after 9 hours and not getting any further. 

    Questions: Has anyone tried hand expressing before?? I just started and I’m only getting 0.5ml of colostrum. I was going to start some time in the next week if the baby was coming as planned so, oops. I don’t have a stash but we are giving it to him every few hours. 

    Sorry I haven’t been around, it’s been crazy finishing work, making sure everything was ready, and then waiting for induction. 

    I was induced because of my hypertension and how I was affected, not because of him. But he would have been HUGE if he was full term!

    otherwise, Rae, totally get the venting out! That’s not cool of them. Sounds like they just wanted an excuse to be off of work, which isn’t fair to you when you should be winding down yourself. Nothing you can really do, but take care of yourself when you’re not there! You are most important to take care of.

    @kvothe2024 Congratulations!! That's so exciting that your little one is here already! I'm glad you're both doing well even if the journey was crazy.  <3
    No experience here with hand expressing, but I know a teeny bit of colostrum goes a long way so that's good you're able to get some out! 
    Thanks for the reassurance on my work rants lol, you're right- just need to focus on myself and take care. 

    You do the same, take care and rest up and I'm sure you're excited to get baby home and start this new chapter of life- Congrats again Mama!

    Baby is the size of a (an): Butternut squash ( I swear we were this already?)

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

    Upcoming Appointments: nothing until 36 week Group B Strep test

    How are you feeling?: exhausted, beat up, terrible sleep and I now have had bronchitis for 2 weeks (terrible coughing all day/night) but thankfully no other sick symptoms so it's just halls and water like crazy. Nurse practitioner said it could last up to 6 weeks so it will be so great coughing so hard my ribs are popping out while also trying to push out baby boy. 

    Rants/Raves: how is there not pregnancy safe cough syrup

    Questions: any home remedies for coughs that work???
