In my last pregnancy I used my regular pillows and added this little wedge for under the bump. It’s cheap and really helped take the pressure off my back and hips.
I had a Snoogle with my first 2 pregnancies. I overall really liked it, but towards the end, it was too big and bulky and made me hot. I ordered the Frida Mom keep-cool pillow this time. It's supposed to arrive today. I'll report back.

I used a spare regular pillow previously between my knees and curled the blanket up under my bump. My doctor actually recommended the one between the knees, because my hips were so sore from side sleeping. This time I have a little wedge pillow on my radar. Probably going to buy it around January/February. I like a couple extra pillows at the head of the bed so I can sleep on my back, and stay at an incline. I put one under my back and two under my shoulders/head. Laying flat on my back doesn't feel good when the bump gets bigger.
I bought the Boppy Total Body Pillow while I was out shopping for Black Friday. Will likely break it out in a couple of weeks to try it out once I get to the 2nd Trimester.
This is the Amazon listing for the pillow I bought at Target.
I really struggled with pregnancy pillows last time around and tried a few different ones. I found the long ones incredibly uncomfortable. I ended up really liking the first one below a lot and then sometimes used the second one below between my legs.
So I posted the pillow that I ended up buying - the Boppy Total Body Pillow, and it isn’t the most comfy for me. I don’t know if I’m just too tall to use it effectively. 🤔
My question is more so, does anyone actually love their pregnancy pillow? or is it just something to help aid sleep? I just need to know whether I should be looking to invest in another pillow or not. My hips and tailbone are kinda sore after using it for a couple of days. And I don’t think that the belly cut out is going to align properly because I have a longer torso.
Right now I'm trying to train myself to be less of a back sleeper rather than actually needing it to support my small bump.
I got a full body pillow. I think it is a Momcozy. I thought I would love it because I'm already a side sleeper and I've seen raves about pregnancy pillows. But I found it super bulky and it made my neck really sore after I tried to use it a couple of times. I'm hoping it will be more useful with a full belly, but I've just been putting a regular pillow on my side for now. Also ordered a wedge pillow.
@feli14 I really like the one I recommended above (the Bobby Side Sleeper Pillow) - not enough to sleep with it when I'm not pregnant, but it definitely made me so much more comfortable when pregnant. I'm both a back and a side sleeper, but move around a lot in my sleep. This helped me feel more comfortable on my side more often (also I could still kind of lay on my back on the pillow, which allowed me to change positions in a safe way). I did sometimes need to supplement with something else between my legs (hence the other pillow I also used some - though I initially got that to try as just a smaller pregnancy pillow - any small pillow can help with between your legs really). For the record I HATED the big pregnancy pillows - I spent way too much on one and ended up giving it to a friend.
Completely agree about the wedge pillow! It was all I needed last time. I like the idea of the one you suggested @curlyandpreggo! Seems like it would be easier for when you roll over at night.
@curlyandpreggo thanks for the recommendation. Hubby has ordered the Boppy Wedge pillow for me. I am a definitely sleep roller so this should be so much better for me. And will likely just use a regular pillow for between my knees
@feli14 sorry you didn't love the pillow! This will be my first round buying a pregnancy pillow. I used a full size pillow between my knees last time and it was bulky, so I hope this little wedge I found works well.
My recommendation would not be to train yourself to sleep on your back. I would recommend getting as much fantastic sleep as you can now to make the uncomfortable-back-sleeping-window as small as possible! Good luck!
