Early labor?

I'm 40 weeks and 4 days today. I had a membrane sweep at 40+2. I lost my mucous plug/had bloody show Friday night and have had constant cramping, low back pain, and pelvic pressure since yesterday afternoon. My stomach is almost always hard and I have yet to feel what a contraction has been described to me as, even though when hooked up to monitors I was told I was having contractions, just couldn't feel any difference than normal. Could this be early labor or just ongoing side effects of membrane sweep?

    The low back pain and constant cramps sounds like contractions to me. I had contractions in the uterus area for a short period of time in the beginning of my labor, but then I had back labor the rest of it, so all my pain was in the lower back and sides of my hips. If you've had your membrane swept and lost the mucus plug then I'd call and see if you've dilated and are in active labor.
