(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green:???
Upcoming Appointments: week of Christmas but haven't scheduled it yet
How are you feeling?: for the most part good. Had one day last week that I felt like trash. Gaggy and fluffy in the abdomen feeling.
Rants/Raves: Rant- ordered Christmas cards through Shutterfly end of Nov and not scheduled to arrive until Dec 28... Rave-house is getting finished finally. Officially moved upstairs into our bedrooms now that the trim is done.
Questions: not today
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Christmas! Christmas Eve is my favorite day if the year and I love all if Dec leading up to Christmas.
@jrose424 I like the brand Carters mainly because my boy is tall and thin and they tend to follow that. I don’t like the brand with the monkey (can’t remember the name haha) because they are short and wide and never fit my kid right
Baby is the size of a (an): as tall as a Rubik's cube.
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green:
Upcoming Appointments: December 26th
How are you feeling?: craving wings all the time.... This is not a good craving financially or healthy wise lol. Still feeling super nauseous, and super tired.
Rants/Raves:
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday?New Year's Eve! Growing up my whole extended family on my Dad's side got together and celebrated together. I'm closer with my cousins then my husband is with his siblings. I'm now 35 and still travel for the yearly tradition. We always have a sushi night, and play board games for hours. So many good times and memories.
@jrose424 I love Burts Bees zip ups for the first 9 months. Basically until they are ready to walk. Then I love Little Co by Laura Conrad at kohls. Jumping Bean is a good one as well.
EDD / Weeks + Days: June 8 / 13 + 2 (new provider put my due date back at that from my LMP)
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Baby is the size of a (an): Lemon
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: Pink
Upcoming Appointments: Nothing until December 29
How are you feeling?: Not great. Tired and nauseous. I thought I was feeling better, but this week that has not been the case. I hope my body is just going through one last push before I get to the second trimester. I also have round ligament pain way often than I would like.
Rants/Raves: Rant - I took my dog on a 45 minute walk yesterday while wearing my nearly 25 lb daughter and I think that was too much for my back Rave - Date night this weekend!
Questions: None right now
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Probably Thanksgiving - I just love all the sides
@jrose424 We have A LOT of hand me downs, so I've been lucky to be able to buy fewer things that might cost a little more, so admittedly these aren't the most cost conscious (though I mostly shop them on sale): Posh Peanut, Little Sleepies (also love their nursing friendly adult PJs), Hanna Anderson. Post Peanut and Little Sleepies are both super soft and super stretchy, so they last beyond the age range listed/longer than some other brands.
@kbru88 yum...I had some wings that REALLY hit the spot a couple weeks ago.
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: hopefully will find out this week
Upcoming Appointments: I have an ultrasound on Wednesday
How are you feeling?: it changes by the hour. I am feeling a little less tired but still sleepier than normal. My nausea has gone from all day sickness to mainly just a night. So that is better but I want it to go away entirely!
Rants/Raves: Rants: TW* we have gone through 3 early miscarriages (all around 6-7 weeks). Now that we are 12 weeks I am wanting to start telling people and get excited. However, my husband is not on the same page as me and it’s starting to bum me out a bit. He doesn’t seem excited to tell people and I know it’s a combination of the losses and his personality but I am ready to be excited and share the news!
Questions: I have started to put together the beginnings of a registry and how does anyone make any decisions. There are too many options for everything. I am so overwhelmed
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Probably Christmas. I just love the decorations and the treats- cookies, eggnog, peppermint hot chocolate! I love it all!
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: finding out any day now!
Upcoming Appointments: 12 week US on Dec 15
How are you feeling?: about the same… like hot garbage most days. I’ve been trying to be consistent with the unisom/B6 and that keeps me from vomiting most days. But the nausea is still there all the time.
Rants/Raves: not sure if it’s a rant of a rave but my NIPT results should be available any day now. Eagerly refreshing the labcorp page constantly. We will start telling people once we get the results, assuming everything looks okay.
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: TBC
Upcoming Appointments: monthly checkup with the NP on Thursday
How are you feeling?: Worst of the nausea is behind me but still exhausted. So tired.
Rants/Raves: Rave: So relieved after my NT scan today came back normal and had a good meeting with the MFM. Baby A looks great and already measuring a week ahead (I grow giant babies). Rant: My husband couldn’t make it today because he had an important work thing and I had to listen to him complain about how hard it was for him not to go to the appointment, and now about how tired he is after such an emotional day. Not feeling very sympathetic considering I had to drive 45 minutes each way to an important and nerve-wracking appointment ALONE 🙄
TW *loss*
Unfortunately we confirmed today that baby B is no longer with us. Not unexpected but still hard news.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving! No expectation of gifts, just all family and food!
@missmisst TW* I am so sorry about the loss of baby B. Even if it was expected it still has to be hard to hear and process. I am so glad baby A is doing so well. I hope you are able to have a relaxing week after the hard day.
I understand your feelings about your husband. I have been feeling similarly when my husband complains about being tired and having a lot to do. I keep thinking “you have no idea!” Being pregnant is not easy.
Upcoming Appointments: 12 week scan and NIPT tomorrow
How are you feeling?: Mostly awful, but I've felt pretty good the past 2 days, so *maybe* I'm turning a corner
Rants/Raves: Rant: my 4 year old's daycare just announced 12 days of Christmas dress up days. Ain't nobody got time for that.
Rave: I'm hosting a Christmas party with my girlfriends on Friday, and my mom is coming to help me clean my house tomorrow. Cleaning has been on the backburner, and I really appreciate the help.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Christmas! I just love the coziness of it.
Married: May 2012 DS1: May 2016 DS2: Jan 2019 Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: Finding out soon 🤷🏼♀️
Upcoming Appointments: 12/20 for 15 week checkup
How are you feeling?: Bloated and tired by generally ok compared to previous weeks!
Rants/Raves: Rant - The NIPT test is killing my vibe. I’ve taken it twice now with “no results”. I’m overly emotional right now as it is, I don’t need this extra anxiety in my life 🥴😅 Rave - I’m feeling generally calm about everything else!
Questions: Anyone else experience no results multiple times from NIPT? Did you do a different test or find a solution? I did the Natera brand.
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving! It’s always the week before my birthday so I get to celebrate with family I wouldn’t normally see.
@kay0624 No experience with failed NIPT, but just wanted to send love as I know that must be anxiety inducing! I hope you get some answers from your doctor soon!
@kay0624 I used MaterniT 21 for my NIPT at 9.5 weeks and was able to get results with 11 percent fetal fraction. Did your 12 week ultrasound include NT and look okay? Are you high risk otherwise? If you’re not high risk for genetic abnormalities and your NT scan looked good, I probably wouldnt do more testing. But I can imagine how incredibly frustrating it must be to get “no results” twice! Ugh.
Quick update—finally got our NIPT results (there was an error from my dr office that led to the delay). Low risk for everything and we’re having a GIRL. I had a strong feeling it was a girl and I’m just over the moon. We’ll have 3 girls and one boy.
@sbaby2023 lucieslist.com is a great place to start for building a registry. It breaks everything down into categories and why you may/may not need certain items based on your lifestyle.
Married: May 2012 DS1: May 2016 DS2: Jan 2019 Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: We find out in 6 days or so! Did out NIPT blood draw yesterday.
Upcoming Appointments: Not actually sure when our next one is.
How are you feeling?: Great! I actually forget sometimes that I'm pregnant. I have zero nausea which is especially great because with both my boys it lasted all the way through 2nd tri.
Rants/Raves: Raving that my OB always makes me feel special when we see her. She remembers me and what's going on in our family. She makes it feel like she goes the extra mile for us, and it's really great to have that feeling through pregnancy. She brought in a little u/s machine to our appt yesterday so we could peek at the baby instead of just listening for a heartbeat. IDK if this needs a TW but if it does, here it is. *TW*. She couldn't find my uterus or hear the heartbeat. I got a little nervous when I noticed she ordered an HcG test right after that. Turns out it's all good. She scheduled a full u/s and the tech found everything just fine, but when I was sitting waiting for the u/s, my head started to mess with me thinking about how I don't "feel" pregnant because I've been feeling really good physically.
Questions: How many of you have decided whether this will be your last baby? This is it for us, and it's starting to sink in.
GTKY: What is your favorite holiday? Cookie day! It's when we make our Christmas cookies. All the ladies in the family get together and start baking at my cousni's house in the morning. The guys are welcome to hang out, but it's not really their cup of tea. It's all the joy of Christmas with none of the stress, and I love it.
@jrose424 I get most of ours at Target if I'm buying new. That said, I hit up garage sales or get hand me downs for most of our clothes, and I always find a family that can use them when we're done. It's the BIGGEST blessing to receive free children's clothes in good condition, so I pay it forward too.
@sbaby2023 I tend to sit in the nursery and look around and what will actually need to go into the space. It's easy to over-register. Keep it to what you need and want most. I found that even if I put cute clothes on the registries, people just buy the outfits they think are cute, so I put a couple that I love in there and then focus more on the items like diaper bin, refills, wipes and diaper, wipe warmer (underrated), bibs and burp cloths (we like muslin and my babies have too many chins for the cute bandana bibs; they hold to much moisture in the neck/chin area for us), bottles, drying rack for countertop (we use the boone grass), baby bath, bath toys, the soap or shampoo that you want to use with baby, hatch/sound machine (we use an alexa with the clock on it), crib mattress, crib sheets, blankets, books, carseat, carseat cover, diaper bag, butt cream, stroller and/or wagon, room decor if there are wall hangings, rugs, bookshelves, or lamps you want to decorate with, crib mobile, teethers, toys, seats/bouncers, play mats. Feel free to include nursing clothes if you're planning to go that route.
@jenEP Congrats on your baby girl! It is so exciting to get the results!
@maggiemadeit sorry for your loss of baby b, hugs. So glad to hear baby a is at plum status!
@kay0624 This is my second time using Invitae, we should get our results next week. Sorry it hasn't gone to plan with your NIPT. I'm curious what insight your care team will come back with.
@maple1422 it’s awesome that you do cookie day as well. We just did ours on Saturday with all my aunts and cousins. And that is how I did my pregnancy reveal to them. I had a shirt made up that said: “Baking more than cookies this year”
@maple1422 This will be my last too. I was told I'd have a 5% chance of ever being pregnant again without IVF, I’m 40, it took over 2 years, several losses, and a minor surgery to get here. This pregnancy is a miracle and there is no way I could go through all that again. We’re so incredibly blessed to have 2 children, and if all goes well a third, but this is it for us.
@feli14 That is such a cute announcement/reveal! I love it!
@maple1422 this will be our last! I’m honestly surprised we decided to have a 4th. I never quite felt “done” after my son, but I didn’t actually think we’d pull the trigger to have another. But this will definitely be our last!
