Possible Twins

Hey ladies! My hcg tripled from 3,568 to 19,311 in 6 days. I’m just about to hit 6 weeks on Sunday. The ultrasound people called to schedule for my first ultrasound. I asked was my levels tripling like that normal at this stage. They giggled and asked me do twins run in the family. They do on the fathers side, but none in my family. My scan is on Monday and I can’t stop thinking about it 😩. In a previous post I talked about how I was 5 weeks with no symptoms except nausea for about an hour when I wake up. I’m still only experiencing that with hcg levels of 19,311. I’m so confused.

    There's such a wide range in possible hcg levels each week with a single baby, so you won't really know until the scan. My husband keeps hoping it's twins and even asked my doc at my scan if there's another one hiding in there 😅 since twins run in both our families! Good luck at your scan

    From what I know hcg should double every 2 days. I've had my hcg not hit the doubling point and was told I was going to have a miscarriage with my first daughter. So not doubling was still ok. With my second daughter, my hcg for 20k in 48 hours and I was told it was a molar pregnancy and I would miscarry. I didn't miscarry it have issues with either of them. Try not to read too into it, but tripling in 6 days doesn't sound bad because if you double every 2 days that's like multiplying by 8 for the 6th day.
