Infertility

Does anyone know why the UK suggests Clomid/Femara on Day 2 while the US says 3/5?

Both myself (US) and best friend (UK) are starting infertility drugs. She's doing Femara, but her doctor said she'd say day 2 for clomid also. It's standard practice there.

I'm doing Clomid and was told I could choose between day 3 or 5.

Neither doctor was able to really answer why. But both said they would not suggest what the other was saying to do.

We're both very confused with their differences. Obviously we want whatever provides the best outcome and we'll listen to our doctors, but really want to know the why

Has anyone else have to deal with these differences? Whether from self or others?

  • Hi, I can't share personal experiences, but I know of friends who were prescribed pills to be taken vaginally, while most people usually take them orally. When they asked their doctor, they were told that, based on research, this method is more effective. fertially.com features insights from experienced fertility experts on treatments and approaches, and I've noticed variations from clinic to clinic.
