  I have the pink spectra. It uses a plug but it was completely covered by my insurance. It worked fine for me!
  I also got extra tubing/parts and flanges. You have to replace parts every so often depending on how often you use it. My biggest hurdle was not having the right size flange for my nipples. That is important for production and comfort. A lactation consultant can measure you. 

  I had a lot of stress about how I would pump once I went back to work (I didn’t have a fridge where I could store milk). Luckily breast milk does just fine with a cooler bag and ice packs! I did a lot of reading on Kellymom and the internet. 

  For work pumping I had a backpack where I stored my pump & parts, a cover (I worked in a restaurant so I pumped in the manager’s office that has a camera & people needed to come in sometimes lol I didn’t care though) and my soft-sided cooler bag. It is designed for milk so had an ice pack with grooves to fit 6 bottles.
  I got a haaka that everyone recommended but I didn’t quite know how to use it. I know now so I might use it again, cause when I was nursing I would lose a decent amount of milk on the other side. 

  I’m not sure if/when I will pump again since idk if I’ll be going to work at all, but I did use the pump a lot in the beginning when trying to boost my supply. My son was combo fed when he was in the hospital and first came home so I had to pump when I was formula feeding and I would also power pump to up supply.

  I’ve used both spectras. Frankly I do not respond well to breast pumps and am lucky to get an ounce or two in a half hour. It sucks. No pun intended. So I’m considering getting a medela this time just to see if it works better. 

  
  

  A manual pump is super helpful to have, also. To keep in the car or your bag on the go. Or use in the middle of the night for a quick pump if needed. I also have a haakaa, and while it helps for me in the beginning with all the leaking from the other nipple while baby nurses on the other one, I didn’t use it much past that because again, I don’t get much to come out. But I have had friends use theirs with a lot of success, so I recommend them for that reason.

  Omgosh I forgot to mention that they sell wipes designed to clean your parts in between washing! Was def a lifesaver for pumping at work as I didn’t have to bring my parts to a sink to wash (I didn’t want to cross-contaminate & can’t wash anything in handwashing sinks).
