Pumpables is having their Black Friday sale early. Snagged the Genie Advanced breast pump for 20% off this morning. My insurance only offers a single kind of pump and it sucks (and not the good kind lol). I’m looking forward to using the GA as my main pump this time around. Have heard so many good things about it!
Our cat took a ride on my husbands truck about 2 weeks ago without us knowing. We haven’t seen him but did take on a stray who looked so much like our cat the person who found him responded to my missing ad. Finally got him into the vet today to be checked out because he was very underweight and he has fleas😫 we’ve kept him separated from the 3 dogs but we’re still treating everyone just in case👎🏻👎🏻
Oof it has been a week. My little guy got a hairline tibial fracture at the park Sunday and has been in a long leg cast since then. Because he's 3 he can't do crutches/can't really walk on it so it's been some scooting and a loooot of carrying (and pre cast he was like 37lbs.) My husband has had surgery to remove 2 herniated discs so when his back flared up today I was on haul small human around duty which was not on my 20 weeks pregnant bingo card (also, said small human's bedroom is on the 3rd floor of our house).
We go to pediatric orthopedist Tuesday and I'd love for them to say we only need 4 weeks of casting total but I'm not hopeful...
Oh no @pocketrose! Can you set him up on the couch or on the floor of your room temporarily to minimize trips up and down the stairs? I hope he doesn't need the cast long!
@pocketrose oh no! Hoping your little guy heals quickly. My nephew had a tibial fracture last year the day before he turned 4. I think the cast went just above the knee but once he got used to it, it didn’t slow him down at all.
Thanks for the well wishes all, we went to the pediatric orthopedist today and got great news that it can come off in two weeks. Our only bathrooms are 2nd and 3rd floor and small human's bedroom is on the 3rd floor, we were more strategic when my husband's back was out but everyone is more back to normal today so we're entertaining the whims of the upstairs toy requests
@pocketrose glad the cast is coming off sooner than you were hoping!
Let me just say that one, I’ve never seen my areolas look so huge. I feel like someone copy and pasted a pastrami on me. Secondly be careful out there shopping!! We live in TX and had some creep following us at Costco.
Thirdly, my attitude was out of hand today. Zeros effs given about anyone’s feelings .. tomorrow will be a better day hopefully.
I was subbing in a 4K class today. I was trying to pass a little bit of time and keep the kids distracted but still in their seats while the other teacher was doing whatever they were doing. I started to ask the kids what should I name my baby? One of them said Human Boobie 😂😂
All - how do we feel about second baby showers/sprinkles?
My first kiddo was born in July 2020 (so, pandemic baby) but I did have an outdoor baby shower gathering where people attended. My mom has since moved to my city after being 1000 miles away and has offered to throw me a shower, thoughts? I wouldn't want to do a "bring a book or bring a box of diapers" shower because we have a ton of books + a preferred diaper brand. I do have a small registry of new things we'll need (mostly small stuff in the hygiene world plus a few wish I had round one things), is it appropriate to have one for like, less than 10 women low key brunch style at my moms? If I do, should I have a "your presence is the best present but also here's our registry if you're like me and can't show up anywhere empty handed"? Or should I just avoid altogether to be safe?
@pocketrose I knew a lot of moms who did sprinkles. I think the brunch idea is so cute! And the least stressful
I’m wanting to have a shower only because I had a girl first and now having a boy. If I was having another girl, I’d do a brunch too because having a shower was so stressful and not fun.
@pocketrose I'm glad you asked because I am in the same predicament. Our first was June and we didn't get a shower. We have a small registery mostly for decor stuff that's not a "need" so much as a want and a new monitor because Amazon lets you crowdfund. With this baby we did do a gender reveal dinner with our family that people brought gifts to that I wasn't expecting so I've been worried about whether people would find it gift grabby.
@alexxajams Ours is same gender so there's 0 clothing things (minus like, a new swaddle I'd like to try).
@SpartanCat No advice because I'm seeking it lol but if you just had family at a gender reveal and presumably didn't have much of a registry at that point + didn't have a shower round 1 I think that a small round 2 shower would be fine.
