Rants/Raves:. Thank goodness my job has sick leave & my toddler could go to daycare so I could rest.

Are you having a shower/sprinkle? I haven't thought about it too much. I really don't like being the center of attention and we do have a ton of baby things already.

  • Estimated Due date/week: April 25, 16+6

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A taco

Upcoming appointments: December 14 & 15, includes anatomy! Also weekly physical therapy

How are you feeling?: Sore and achey as she gets bigger. Started feeling movement last week.

Rants/Raves:. Last year I got a bad rash that we linked to breastfeeding. Now my poor toddler is covered and I have it on my arm and thigh. Waiting to hear back from our doctor on that one.

    Questions?

Are you having a shower/sprinkle? As far as I know, no. I wouldn't mind some diapers lol but other than that we're set since it's another girl and I have everything from the 20 month old yet. And my niece is 9 months younger than my daughter so the few things I didn't have (like a sit me up), my SIL is loaning me.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a chipmunk!

Upcoming appointments: had an appointment on Wednesday, anatomy scan in three weeks

How are you feeling?: exhausted, but otherwise amazing

Rants/Raves: The lack of sleep is going to be the death of me. It was not nearly this bad last time around. We’re working on it, and it’s improving, but my goodness.

    Questions?
    None right now!
Are you having a shower/sprinkle? I don’t think so? My students keep saying we should, but I’m not planning five parties for myself so they can all have one.
  • Estimated Due date/week: 4/26
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: pomegranate

Upcoming appointments: Dec 11 20 weeks scan.

How are you feeling?: I’ve been having asthma symptoms and working on a new med that’s finally starting to work. But if I start coughing (one of my asthma symptoms) and it gets me wrong I have reflux-gag and vomit. Or if i manage to not do that I cannot focus on a keagle and I pee. So that sucks. Pelvic floor therapy needs to happen.
Rants/Raves:. The steroid inhaler finally working. Yay.

Questions? Not too many. Im thinking a lot about my C-section and how to talk to the drs about my spinal block and such.

    Are you having a shower/sprinkle?

id love to celebrate with some sort of a party with my husbands family here. As they were not able to attend any of my other showers in California with my other two babies. We really only need a mini crib and mattress and such. I have everything else already. And we do cloth diapers so I have those too. So really it’s just I want to celebrate baby with them. Maybe a co-Ed sprinkle or something. Who knows. You can’t really throw one for yourself so I don’t know.

  • Estimated Due date/week: 4/6 20+1

Upcoming appointments: Tuesday for anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: Tired the last few days and starting to get uncomfortable/acid reflux if I eat a good sized meal

    Rants/Raves:.

    Questions?

Are you having a shower/sprinkle? My friend wants me to. This is not my first but it has been a long road with recurrent loss trying to have a second so it may be nice to celebrate and feel like a normal pregnancy. We will see. This one is a boy and we have a girl already.
  • Estimated Due date/week: 4/24/24
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:
    Pomegranate!
    Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: Story time!  Not great at all!  I have had a really bad cough for over a month and I have been trying to be really proactive about it because I didn’t want it to escalate. I want to the doctor multiple times. Along with the cough this past week I ended up with pink eye, fluid in my ear and then to end the week… a broken rib and pneumonia!   I broke a rib from coughing so hard!  I had no idea that was a thing until I felt the pop.

Rants/Raves: For broken ribs they do nothing for you. They don’t even bind them any more because it can restrict airflow. They do even less when you break one and are pregnant. I was sent home in the pain I went to the ER in and told to take Tylenol. I am basically stuck not moving for awhile. Recovery is 4-6 weeks. I get spasms in the spot where it broke when I cough or generally move. I find that staying in a chair is the easiest so I’ve been in my son’s nursing chair for almost 24 hours now. I basically have to ignore everything around me. I hate it I can barely get close to my four year old. I think sitting in this chair has helped a lot and I feel a little less pain. I’m trying my hardest to do all the breathing treatments for the pneumonia. Tuesday is my son’s birthday. We had to cancel everything. We are not going away for thanksgiving, we had to cancel his party we are just stuck at home. Fortunately my husband has been amazing taking over everything I’d normally do and being there for me. And we have friends who are providing some meals this week.

Questions? Has anyone ever broken a rib before? Especially while pregnant? I’ll take any advice you have. I’d love to hear people’s experience.

Are you having a shower/sprinkle? Maybe! My son wants a one! I think he saw an episode of Bluey where her mom goes to one so he talks about baby shower’s a lot. We are in a different city than where my son was born and it’s been four years so I think I’d like to.
  • I identify with you. My coughing has been so bad this month I’m constantly peeing my pants. I remember a little bit of pee after my first was born but nothing like this early! I am also constant gagging and throwing up from the coughing. I’ve already talked to my friend who specializes in pelvic floor therapy about starting now. Im not sure if I’ll have to wait until I’m more recovered from my rib breaking before I start. But I know I want to be proactive about all of this!
  •  knottieb0ad38b7c3abc54e oh no!!! I had a patient once come in complaining like she felt she broke a rib from coughing. I didn’t think you it was possible but sure enough she did! I felt bad for doubting her. We kept her inpatient for a while because she was actively sick and requiring oxygen if I remember right. But surely your OB could give you something stronger than Tylenol for pain. As much as providers don’t like to give out pain meds they are okay to take in pregnancy and this feels like an appropriate time! I hope you feel better soon!

    Estimated Due date/week: April 30, 16w6d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an avocado

Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan mid December, just had an appt last Friday!

How are you feeling?: overall feeling pretty good! I’m still routinely taking meds at night to keep nausea at bay during the day. I’m scared to stop them and then start feeling bad.

Rants/Raves:. None really! I just finished three shifts in a row and got my flu shot so I’m a little run down.

    Questions?

Are you having a shower/sprinkle? I am hoping I can convince my mom to throw me one. I got rid of a lot of my baby stuff and having twins I’m going to need double of things!
