IUI protocol frustration

Been trying IUI. I did my progesterone test 8dpo. Nurse calls to say it’s very low. This has never happened. Values always 25 or greater. Says she wants me to start on progesterone. I’m confused. Value is a 2.6 just barely high enough to indicate ovulation but way too low for a successful implantation, which normally happens at 6-8 dpo. At the end of day 8 she wants me to start meds. If implantation did occur it wasn’t successful.
When I mention my frustration to the nurse that we should have checked it sooner, she said “we’ll we didn’t expect it, but we can change the protocol next round”—-excuse me?!?? I’m not getting any younger, we aren’t made of money. Why doesn’t a clinic do all the tests for things in a timely fashion to be able correct for issues.
Sorry for the rant. Feel so angry, frustrated, and much more. We just wasted a cycle. It would take a miracle to be present…like they switched my blood or had a typo putting my values in the commuter.
All down

Re: IUI protocol frustration

  • Hello Honey, i can feel you and i'm so sorry about your situation. It is unfortunate that such an important period passed with such neglect. The clinic where I was treated had requested a lot of tests from me in the first place and I found this very strange. Later, when I had an online meeting with the doctor, he clearly explained to me why these were requested. He said that they would know everything and plan my treatment according to him, and that they acted cautiously so that there would be no mishaps, and this made me very satisfied.

  • Hey, I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through this. I'm trying to get pregnant too, and I'm on the older side (37 years). I feel really sad every time I have a cycle and it doesn't work. Its a really powerless feeling. I feel like there is not much I can do but sit around and wait. I'm sorry they check sooner. I hope you have your healthy baby very soon.
  • I understand your frustration with the delayed progesterone test. It's disheartening to face setbacks in fertility treatments. Communication with your healthcare team is vital for better coordination in future cycles. Express your concerns and work collaboratively to ensure a more efficient and timely approach to address potential issues.
  • Hi, I am really sorry to read your story. Unfortunately, not all IVF clinics are as good as they should be.
  • I understand your frustration with the delay and uncertainty in your IUI protocol. Clear communication and proactive testing are crucial; consider discussing your concerns with your healthcare provider for better support and adjustments.
