I unknowingly received topical Lidocaine at the dentist yesterday at my normal check up. I advised them I was newly pregnant prior to the appointment and without consent, used topical lidocaine during my cleaning. They used a new tool and process which is why I had no clue - I assumed it was the paste they normally use. I am 5-6 weeks pregnant. The dentist advised it is safe but when researching it is considered a category B - it does pass through the placenta. Does anyone have experience receiving lidocaine in the early weeks of the first trimester and if so, did you have any issues or defects?
Re: Lidocaine @ Dental Apt
Then, I would bitch out the office for not informing you of what is happening and what's going on.
