R/R: we're celebrating a coworker tomorrow for her retirement but I hate how disorganized everything always is when it comes to these events. Nobody plans or things are thrown in super last min. Why am I finding out today that the party is tomorrow? They've asked me to do calligraphy on her card and one of the women went around asking for cash donations for food. So clearly they're gonna end up just buying chips and soda or something, and that's not a proper send off for someone who's been working here for over 30 years. I've helped plan some events before but it seems like everybody is all in during planning meetings and then when it comes to getting decorations or setting up the space suddenly everybody is busy or nowhere to be found 😤
