Rants/Raves: We gathered and moved cows out on our range ground over the weekend and my hips and pelvis are so sore! Pregnancy isn't for the weak!

    Questions:

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? We met in college. We had tons of common friends and he had even dated a close friend of mine for a bit. We knew each other and were at a lot of the same events before we caught on and went on a few dates. It was instantly natural and easy. We got married the summer after we graduated.

@farm_mama yay for feeling better. Also cool that y’all have cows lol
@night_nurse I feel ya on the candy
@ceclarlinetlo that is sweet ! I love how y’all met

I love how everyone met lol

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 20wks (he’s measuring a week ahead though)

    FTM/STM/TTM+: stm

Baby is the size of a (an): banana but I think bigger lol

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: had anatomy scan on Halloween

How are you feeling?: better! But now the fatigue is hitting again

Rants/Raves: it hit me that I’m halfway and I’m like “oh s**t”. I’m also nervous I think because if he decides to be head down and not breech, that means a vaginal birth 🥴
But looking forward to the holidays 🎉🎉🎉
We also finally picked his first name but now struggling with middle 🤦🏽‍♀️

Questions: I want to have an unmedicated birth being a vbac candidate.. did anyone else get this option? And how was it? Did the drs/nurses try to push pitocin or epi on you? Did having Anterior placenta affect vag birth?I had a C-section first so idk what to expect.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? A salsa club when I was 19..together 10yrs and finally getting married at the end of the month 😂

My first was a C Section because she was breech. My second was an unmedicated VBAC in a hospital. My biggest hurdle was finding a hospital that would allow me to do a trial VBAC. The only hospital in my county would not allow me to deliver there. I had to travel out of state and my doctor and another doctor had to agree to joint care. Then there were the practicalities of trying to be in the area of that hospital when I went into labor. All that said, I did it and it went very well.

They required me to sign a waiver. I had to agree to have an IV in place and continous fetal monitoring, neither of which were a big deal to me. My doctor and nurses were all very supportive. I never felt pressured into any interventions at all, but they also knew going in what I wanted.

With both my VBACs my provider has ordered a late ultrasound to check placenta position and scar health immediately before delivery.

Upcoming Appointments: not for a couple of weeks

How are you feeling?: Things are definitely getting harder. My belly is so big and in the way so it's hard to move around (already). The pelvic girdle pain has started. I get so winded and tired from really small exertions. My back hurts. But for all that I am still doing pretty good, just feeling a bit worried how I'll feel by the end 🤷🏻‍♀️

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? We first met in 6th grade and had crushes on each other, but then he went to a different school for a few years. After he came back we started dating sophomore year of high school. We got married 10 years later and celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this year too 💜

  • @farm_mama yeah I don’t mind the iv and fetal monitor. I had the C-section the first time for the same reason as well. I already told my dr I want to try unmedicated if he’s head down by third trimester. Luckily my hospital allows Vbac
  • Loving everyone's SO meeting stories! Some of you have been together/known each other for so long!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 6 Feb/ 27weeks!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): barbie doll or a big cabbage

Team blue/pink/green: girl - we're trying out Daniella as a name this week, haha.

Upcoming Appointments: Not for another three weeks, but I had enough appointments last week that I don't feel a strong urge at the moment.

How are you feeling?: Big (I've only gained 10lbs, but that was 10% of my body weight, so I just feel big). Back to being very tired. I test low in iron (surprise surprise), so hoping supplementation will give me a bit of a boost. It's also just a really stressful week, so that's not helping with the energy levels.

Rants/Raves: Done with the glucose challenge and I don't have gestational diabetes! It wasn't so bad, except making me feel like crap.
DH is going on an overseas work trip for the next two weeks, and it's making me feel anxious...

Questions: ...does anyone else feel more anxious in pregnancy? Mostly, I worry something will happy to him  (even just riding his bike to work), and it's definitely not my usual levels. Also fear of burning down the house has increased (unplugging the kettle before leaving has become a morning ritual).

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? We met and were friends in grad school in the UK ten years ago, though he's from Canada and I'm from the US. Then I left for more school in Australia and fate would have it that he got a job at a university in Sydney in 2019. Coming up on four years together as more-than-friends (and 1.5 years married). Pandemic lock downs actually forced us to try living in close quarters, and it just worked!

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/26 - 20 weeks today, insane that its halfway over!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): paper airplane

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: feels like sooo many- monthly OB and anatomy scan next week. Looking forward to seeing her!

How are you feeling?: pretty good overall. My appetite seems to be back although I'm dealing with some reflux now. Feeling her move and kick a lot, so that's reassuring.

Rants/Raves: not pregnancy related but someone rear ended me on my way into work this morning, so now on top of all these Dr appointments and the holidays, I have to deal with this. My car is only a year old! I hate living near DC. Thankfully it was very minor and I barely felt my car move when I got hit.

    Questions:

GTKY: How did you meet your SO?: we met through mutual friends at church in 2016 and started hanging out as friends. I've been married previously and was not looking to be in a relationship ever again. God worked in my heart to change all that and we just celebrated 4 years of marriage in September 🥰
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Feb 26; 24+1

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): GI Joe

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: 12/4

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, just large! Like @ceclarlinetlo, I've been hitting the clearance Halloween Reese's HARD. My chief complaint would be sore hips, which I just bought a yoga ball for.

Rants/Raves: I'm feeling overwhelmed at the amount of things we need to get done before baby gets here! Hubs is stressing, which makes me stress. I know we'll get there, but it feels like a mountain of chores and I'm already tired of waddling lol. Also this stupid anterior placenta is really bumming me out. I can still only feel him occasionally.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? We met on a boat! My friend invited me out on her dad's boat and her boyfriend invited my husband. I was actually dating someone else at the time, but when we broke up a few weeks later, he asked me out and that was all she wrote!

  • @alexxajams I have not had a vbac, all vaginal
births though, and I am a HUGE advocate for birth education. I know a lot of c-section mamas find great local support through their local ICAN chapter (International Cesarean Association Network). You can find specific info on hospitals and doctors in your area and empower yourself to acheive your goal of a vbac.

@hedgepig i can only imagine what it’s like have TWO babies in there. I know you guys are pretty rural but do you have a chiropractor in your area you can see? Mine applied some kinesiology tape at my last bisit and I was shocked how much it helped my RLP and SI joint pain. I bought some to do myself.

@cioccolata16 I was just talking to DH about how much more I focus on mortality while I’m pregnant. Mostly my own, but family members too. 3/3 for far with this happening. I think it’s a really natural way our minds are dealing with how much life is changing ❤️

@mb928 so much reflux going on here too

@cmill828 I felt barely any movement with my first too. Having 2 posterior placentas after that has made me realize what i missed. You’ll feel more as he gets bigger and still so many other ways to bond with baby. But i understand the sadness.

Baby is the size of a (an): venti cup
    Team blue/pink/green: green
Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan was today! all normal :)
How are you feeling?: tired. My 2 year old is getting molars and is letting everyone know. Otherwise not bad.
Rants/Raves: molars. Also out of the classroom 2 days this week and while sub plans are annoying, it’s nice to have a bit of a break!
GTKY: How did you meet your SO? His older brother introduced us. Started dating when I was 17!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 7; 22+5

    FTM

Baby is the size of a: coconut

    Team: PINK!

    Upcoming Appointments: Nov 16

How are you feeling? Pretty dang good. Spirits are high. I feel confident, sexy, like nothings gonna bring me down. Is this the 2nd trimester blissful feeling? Lol. I feel super healthy emotionally, grounded, and level-headed. My friend had told me months ago I would feel great in 2TM and I laughed in her face cuz I was miserable. But here we are! Enjoying this feeling and wondering how/if I can harness it and implement in 3rd TM and beyond!!

Rants/Raves: @ceclarlinetlo you are not alone!! Due to horrible weather on Halloween we only had 4 trick or treaters leaving me with 5 huge bags of candy. Reeses didn't stand a chance. And milky ways, kit-kats, snickers.. sigh.. hasn't been pretty 😬

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? He was my National Guard recruiter. So yeah, he sold me on the military and then sold me on marrying him 😆 Known each other 10 years. Celebrating our 7 yr wedding anniversary on Nov 26th!
  • cioccolata16 I definitely have been anxious this time around.. like I keep imagining the weirdest scenarios 🤦🏽‍♀️
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 22w5d 3/9

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a (an): a hedgehog🦔

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

    Upcoming Appointments: not until December

How are you feeling?: pretty good. My energy is back and I want to do all the things but my hands hurt so bad I feel like it’s a battle to get anything done👎🏻

Rants/Raves: rave for my little dudes picking up my slack on housework without the normal whining and fighting

Questions: I asked in the 2nd tri symptoms already but any carpal tunnel wrist brace recommendations? I ordered some
but they were nearly to my elbow and super uncomfortable.

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? Online. I got him a candle for our anniversary last year that said he was the best thing I ever found online 😂
  • @farm_mama I am so glad you are finally feeling better! It must be a relief to have the cows moved too 😊

@ceclarlinetlo We have almost the same timeline for meeting our SOs!

@alexxajams No experience here with a vbac, but I had an anterior placenta with my first and it had no impact on a unmedicated vaginal birth for me!

@night_nurse Right? My belly honestly feels like I'm nearly full term and I have no idea how these babies are each supposed to grow another 5 lbs + 😬 We luckily had a Webster certified chiropractor at our local clinic who I saw during my last pregnancy, but she left 😭 I will have to ask and see if we have anyone who is certified to work with pregnant people in the area now. As for KT tape, I was looking into it because it seemed like it would be super helpful, but then I realized that since I have a skin sensitivity to bandage adhesive, I probably can't use it 😕

@dinomeetsjedi I have a lot of anxiety around viability too, especially since we live 4 hours from the nearest NICU that would likely care for a micro-preemie. I feel much better as we get closer to 30 weeks.
