Pregnancy Announcements

I took a photo shoot today with our Halloween decorations. πŸ˜‚ I was thinking that this might be a good way to announce to our family in a few weeks. Anyone else have plans or have you announced yet?

Re: Pregnancy Announcements

  • @stress_engine that’s really cute and something I haven’t seen before!!Β

We have announced to our parents/siblings. I’ll probably wait until after my scan at 12 weeks to do a post. We’ll probably announce the sex publicly then too. Not sure what I want to do yet! Maybe a baby pumpkin & something with our son.Β

  • Omg that is hilarious!!

We are doing engagement photos/baby announcement photos tomorrow.Β

We are both sneaker fanatics so bought a super cute pair of baby Nikes - will likely incorporate that somehow.Β
  • Haha, thanks @knottie33162c2c4eff9818! Without an official due date, ultrasound pic, or any kind of bump yet I had to get creative!

That is so exciting about the photos! Extra congratulations to you on so much to celebrate! Sneakers are also such an adorable idea.
  • I announced today with a photo of my son on the front porch! He was wearing a big brother shirt, and we painted a pumpkin pink & he held up the ultrasound πŸ₯°
  • Thanks so much!! :)Β
  • Nothing wrong with that at all! It’s a very personal experience for every Mom. You do what feels right for youΒ
  • I completely understand how you are feeling! Although everyone means well, the attention and questions can be overwhelming- good for you for doing what you feel comfortable with 😊
  • Yep, that's not weird at all! I'm not a big social media person and I haven't posted anything yet. I probably will eventually, maybe after we can get some maternity pictures done if I still want that later.

We really wanted to tell our parents soon after we found out. I put my halloween shoot photos in a card for them, lol! It's our first pregnancy and the first grandchild on both sides. We told our parents to wait to tell anyone else until after our first appointment. My mother-in-law made it to during our appointment to tell my husband's grandma. My mom apparently texted both of my aunts right after/during. It's probably not normal to have all of the extended family know when I was not quite 8 weeks yet, but oh well. I know that they were just crazy excited! Just starting to tell some of our friends now too. I'm stillΒ  holding off at work (male-dominated environment).

@louloumama I think that it's great that you are protecting yourself if that's what you need and doing what's best for you!
  • @louloumama I hear you. I don’t care to announce either. My first pregnancy was no picnic, and I don’t want to make β€˜being pregnant’ the center of every conversation I have. I don’t like the attention, and it’s just sort of private to me.Β

I’ll tell most people once I get my NIPT results back. My students (I’m a teacher) I won’t tell for as long as humanly possible πŸ˜‚ And I probably won’t announce on social media. I’ll tell people in person when I see them.
  • Our close family and friends already know because we'd been doing IVF for almost a year and it was harder to keep it secret. For people we haven't told yet, I'm thinking of doing Christmas cards with me and my husband sitting by the fireplace with our dogs and having all the stockings hung up, and then having each of us hold a little mini-stocking (we're having twins). If I can get my act together and make it happen, I think it could be really cute.
  • Our photos just came back so we announced with thisΒ
  • @jennabirdie omgosh all boys! I’m glad things are going well so far 🩡
  • @jennabirdie wow congratulations with spontaneous triplets!!Β  Im glad you're able to put the fears aside to enjoy this time with your babes 😊

I had told our family around 8-9 weeks, close friends around Thanksgiving (week 14), and everyone else just a few days ago. I make my own Christmas cards so this year's doubled as a pregnancy announcement. πŸŽ„

  • Posted mine today.Β
  • I announced today with adorable AI-generated baby girl and baby boy photos of my husband and me. I shared it in the family chat group, and everyone loved it! It was so much fun seeing their reactions and imagining our future little one! πŸ˜„πŸ‘ΆπŸ’•

Here's the fun tool I used, in case you want to try it too!
