Upcoming Appointments: First Dr’s appointment this Friday afternoon. Will have to anxiously wait through the entire work week.
How are you feeling?: Fatigue is the most prominent symptom, feeling some nausea come in waves but hasn’t increased thankfully🙏. Having some issues sleeping - while I’m clearly tired I’ve just got so much excitement that I think it is hard to turn my brain off.
Rants/Raves: I am constantly consulting on whether things are safe for me to have. Kinda overwhelming at times.
Questions: Not now. I think I’ll just consult my doctor at my first appointment.
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM, but my niece lived with me from 9-13, and now has been with my husband and I for 1 year (age 15-16) and will be staying until she graduates
Baby is the size of a (an): speck of sawdust, round sprinkle on a cupcake
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: n/a
Upcoming Appointments: blood draw tomorrow and 48 hours after, then will schedule visit with the midwives.
How are you feeling?: Excited, but so anxious as I’m coming off a recent loss. No real symptoms yet I don’t think.
Rants/Raves: I’m just so tireddd! 😂 very thankful for my bed.
Questions: how do you stay sane KNOWING about your pregnancy so early- especially if you’ve experienced loss?
GTKY: Do you have any pets? 2 dogs and 1 cat!! They’re the sweetest!
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: 💚
Upcoming Appointments: ultrasound on Friday!!
How are you feeling?: nauseous. I rarely felt sick during my first pregnancy but this time it’s all day, only getting about an hour of relief after I eat. Makes it hard when I have to chase a one year old around all day!
Rants/Raves: rant - feeling nauseous all day is taking over my life haha rave - my son is playing so well by himself lately thank goodness
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: Don't know but will find out
Upcoming Appointments: First appt Nov 13th
How are you feeling?: Today I'm starting to feel a little punk. I've been not having much symptom-wise other than extreme fatigue and having to pee a lot. Today smells are nauseating me and just generalized nausea, boob tenderness and fullness came back today.
Rants/Raves: Dealing with my passive agressive mother has been difficult. MH told her we were expecting thinking it would get her off my case about my "attitude" and that I've been stressed because I'm hormonal. That just led to her being more irritated that we chose to do this at an older age and when my girls have been finally settling down from issues with my Narc Ex. Just a soap opera over here.
Questions: Tell me your wearable pump recommendations!
GTKY: Do you have any pets? 2 dogs, a white German Shepard and a border collie. MH wants this to be a boy because he is the only man in the house, and he just wants a boy
EDD / Weeks + Days: Doctor just moved it to June 11 - so 6 weeks + 6 days?
FTM/STM/TTM+:STM
Baby is the size of a (an): Still a jelly belly jelly bean now that my due date is pushed back!
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: Can't wait to find out...
Upcoming Appointments: US this morning - will be going in for labs for NIPT (plus routine bloodwork) on 11/9
How are you feeling?: The morning sickness is really hitting, as is the exhaustion. I've been on the struggle bus for the past few days.
Rants/Raves: Rave - Heard the little one's heartbeat today (and saw it) which was super reassuring. Rant - I was hoping to be able to go to a lab near me for my upcoming labs, but they are making me go to the dr. office since its NIPT (and that's less standard for lab places to have and want to make sure its done right). It's totally fine just way less convenient.
Questions: Random, but do people have thoughts on 3 row SUVs vs. minivans? We agree we need a bigger car and were planning on fold down three row SUV, but MH is trying to convince me that a minivan is the way to go.
GTKY: Do you have any pets? Yes! A black standard goldendoodle. He's the best
@alaw0729 I've found Karrie Locher's blog posts on wearable and portable pumps very useful (linked below). I personally loved the Legendairy Milk Imani for wearable and Pumpables Genie Advanced for portable.
@curlyandpreggo I got a van after my second and hated every second of it out of vanity. That and the caravans are super loud. I have a Mercedes GL 350, so roomy-bench in middle and back but easy pass through seats. If you go that direction make sure the seats flip easily to get to the back row. That being said, I am absolutely loving the look and options of the Kia Carnival. Does not look like a van!
@felie4 Yes I definitely remember googling what was safe to eat nonstop with my first pregnancy. Maybe you can find a big list online you can print out and only have to google the randoms after that!
EDD / Weeks + Days: EDD so far is around June 11th (until ultrasound done in a few weeks?!)
FTM/STM/TTM+: Third expected kiddo!
Baby is the size of a (an): sweet pea
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: n/a
Upcoming Appointments: Still waitingggg until November for my first appointments. 😞
How are you feeling?: Stressed at work— the morning sickness was worse over the weekend , too. Work probably will be stressful until Christmastime so often not looking forward to it in the morning. Also am getting over an upper respiratory virus— yay!
Rants/Raves I almost forgot about the drinking of multiple cups of water before the first ultrasounds. Hoping they don’t have prolonged wait times those days!
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? 1 chocolate lab, 2 weird AF cats , 1 leopard gecko that’s my daughters… supposedly.
@curlyandpreggo I have a 3-row Highlander. The second row is captains chairs. The back row is pretty useless so we always have it down which makes the back super roomy for things. Given I only have one child right now and don't plan on anymore after second so mostly got Highlander to use the big back, not the seats. If that makes sense. But I suppose a small child could sit back there comfortably but then there's no space really for stuff in the back back.
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: NA
Upcoming Appointments: waiting for the nurse to call me to set up my first appts
How are you feeling?: Symptoms haven't fully started yet. Just a bit tired, crampy, gassy and always hungry.
Rants/Raves: Rave - our annual Halloween party is this weekend, we go all out on our costumes so looking forward to that. Rant: I wake up every night at 2AM like clock work with terrible gas pains that only are relieved with lots-o-toots and a pee.
Questions: None
GTKY: Do you have any pets? No pets. As much as I love dogs, traveling the world is my passion so don't want to be tied down by pets!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 6w2d according to LMP and 6w5d according to ultrasound last week. Waiting for next ultrasound to confirm
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Baby is the size of a (an): sweet pea
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green:
Upcoming Appointments: I have my second ultrasound on Wednesday. I am nervous and really hoping we hear a strong heartbeat
How are you feeling?: so tired and hungry but never wanting to eat anything
Rants/Raves: rants: I honestly don’t know how people deal with the fatigue. I work from home and I am still so exhausted all the time. I use to workout everyday and I just haven’t been able to do it this week. It’s making me feel a bit lazy
Questions: none for now
GTKY: Do you have any pets? Yes I have a 6 year old beagle named Cody. He is our baby ❤️
Upcoming Appointments: anxiously awaiting my first ultrasound on Friday
How are you feeling?: Rotten. Morning sickness sucks and I’ve honestly never been so tired in my entire life, and I used to work 2 full time jobs while working part time on my masters degree. I am an absolute ray of sunshine these days 😂
Rants/Raves: *tw* pregnancy loss - the anxiety of pregnancy after loss is insane. When the symptoms are bad I feel awful, and when I get a few hours that I don’t feel like death, I spend it wondering if it’s a sign of impending doom.
GTKY: Do you have any pets? No pets. I really want a dog but my family doesn’t share my enthusiasm.
(Only If you know already!) Team blue/pink/green: will find out asap
Upcoming Appointments: first US is 11/7.
How are you feeling?: pretty good. Very bloated and some GI stuff. No nausea yet (which is awesome but also makes me anxious since I had bad MS with my other pregnancies).
Rants/Raves: husband is out of town all week and since we aren’t telling anyone yet, I have no one to talk to about all the pregnancy things. Rave: no nausea and my energy is okay still.
Questions: Should we start an AMA thread for those of us older gals?
GTKY: Do you have any pets? One labradoodle
re: vehicles… we had a minivan and I loved it, but we needed AWD so we traded it in for a Honda pilot. I mostly like it, but the storage with the third row up (which is always is for us with 3 kids) isn’t awesome. It also won’t work well with 4 because it doesn’t have captains seats and all my kids still need car seats or boosters. I really want a electric or hybrid SUV but I’m not having much luck in my search. Love the Rivian but it’s about the size of my pilot.
@jenEP yes to AMA thread please! I feel you on the lack of symptoms being a worry! I'm feeling fine for the most part too and no MS but I think I didn't have MS start until about 6 weeks with my last pregnancy. I'm 4w2-4d as well!
@jenEP we are looking for hybrid (likely plug-in hybrid) and that’s really limiting our options. We don’t plan to have any more than 2 kids, but our dog is huge and would take up the backseat by himself…so storage becomes an issue if we want to go in a trip with him.
Love the idea of an AMA thread.
And if it makes you feel any better I had some slight morning sickness weeks 4 and 5 but it didn’t really pick up until week 6 or so!
@curlyandpreggo if you’re open to a fully electric, the Rivian is amazing. I have several friends who have one and love it. With the 3rd row down, there’s lots of room in the back. I’m still considering it even though it’s a little smaller than I’d like for us.
How are you feeling?: I feel some fatigue and I think the nausea is ramping up quickly. And nervous! I’ve had some spotting off and on. My doctor ordered a HCG test and ultrasound. My HCG test showed my numbers were doubling, but only saw a gestational sac (5 weeks + 4 days). So I’m going back next week for another one. Hopefully we get to see a little baby 🤞
Rants/Raves: So thankful for my husbands support and optimism through all this.
Questions: not at the moment
GTKY: Do you have any pets? Two cats, a tuxedo and a torbie. And a German shorthair pointer.
@alaw0729 I used my insurance and the aeroflow website to get the Willow 3.0 and it was thebomb.com. I got the containers to go with it and used those 99% of the time. The bags work, and truly let you pump in any position, even doing yoga, but they are a bit cumbersome to pour from and can get air in them when they are "flipped to finish". Also, I would say the last bit of milk would stay in the flange, so I had to pour into a container or other bag anyway to get it all. I highly recommend the Willow with containers. Great customer service, simple setup, convenient tracker app (though not 100% accurate), and easy to clean. Switching to wearable pumps was a game changer for me. I had a negative experience with pumping after Baby #1, and it was close to glorious with Baby #2 - as close as pumping can be to glorious, it's still kind of a drag no matter how you swing it.
@curlyandpreggo We upgraded from our sedan to 3rd row SUV this year, and it's the best! We went with the Toyota Highlander with captains chairs in the center. The captains chairs have a partial fold, so you can get through to/from the back row even with carseats in both of them. The car seat anchors are very easy to access, which I love. The third row has two sections so you can seat 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 and fold down the rest. It came with an awesome rubber mat in the back, so we can haul the 8yo's bike in the back for sleepovers and can put the pup back there for grooming trips. Our first has always been 99th percentile height, and he'll be the one moving to the back row first, so we researched with leg room in mind. The Highlander had the most leg room/fuel economy balance for us. I test drove a Bronco, because I think they're adorable, just for funsies before we knew about baby #3, but it was pretty tinny and less comfortable. We also considered the explorer for a more affordable option and the pathfinder because it checks the boxes. I was certain I wanted a Pathfinder until we drove the Highlander - just can't beat the style and comfort. 10/10 from me.
Upcoming Appointments: first appt was yesterday. I'm going back in 2 weeks.
How are you feeling?: Very tired, a little nauseous
Rants/Raves: I went to my first prenatal appt yesterday. Based on my period, I should have been 7w6d, but baby was measuring at 6 weeks. We did get to see the heartbeat. It's not concerning; I just ovulated late (not surprising since my cycles are not consistent). So my due date got pushed back almost 2 weeks. I'm going back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks, so they can see baby better.
It's mentally discouraging because I feel like I've already been thorough weeks 6 & 7. We were getting ready to tell our families after this appointment, but we're probably going to hold off a little longer now.
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? hah, we have a cat that we've sort of stolen. A cat kept hanging around our house last year. We thought it was a stray and started feeding it. Turns out, he belongs to a family in our neighborhood, but he roams freely and pretty much lives at our house now.

@rachel-the-wolf-flower I know @littlemarshmallow already answered your question, but I thought I'd drop this link here as well - people love acronyms on the bump message boards and I kept having to look things up my first pregnancy - here's a helpful list! I might drop this in a standalone thread so people can find it easily if they need it
How are you feeling?: not great 😔 mentally I am having a hard time, physically I am tired, nauseated, and my boobs hurt 😞
Rants/Raves: raves: I told the first person about my pregnancy besides my fiancé - one of my coworkers. Her reaction just brought me so much joy and I feel so relieved that somebody is in on my secret rants: I am just feeling so mentally down. I talked to my fiancé about it and he is so great and supportive. I’m hoping it’s just some seasonal blues along with my heightened emotions. I’ve had a horrible dream the past few nights in a row that I share the news with my mom and she reacts so negatively. My sister just had a baby 2 months ago and my mom is just loving her so much, but for some reason my brain is telling me she won’t feel the same for me. I know it’s stupid 🙄 most of my thoughts these days are irrational lol
Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any pets? I have one cat named chicky. She is 6 and my baby. My fiancé and I got her together after being together for 2 years and we just love her so much
@hannahxo6 I’m sorry you’re having a hard time mentally. Pregnancy dreams are also really something. They are so vivid and can feel so real that they can totally mess with you!
