@alexxajams I'm sorry you've been sick for a month, that sounds miserable! Hopefully it will clear up soon!
@ceclarlinetlo Yay for a good fetal echo report! I'm so happy to hear this news!
@halfanewt- I know garlic can trigger acid reflux, maybe you're having an intense reflux reaction that makes you throw up?
@dinomeetsjedi I hear you! There are so many more adventures I should have taken when I was young instead of worrying about getting my career established. Particularly since I am not even practicing law!
@ceclarlinetlo Great news on your results!
@halfanewt Oh the transcontinental railroad is a good answer!
FTM
Baby is the size of a: banana
Team: PINK!
Upcoming appointments: Nov 16, they're doing a follow up ultrasound since baby girl didn't give them a good pic of her spine at the anatomy scan on Friday, but everything else looked perfect!
How are you feeling?: overall good! Still getting hit with tiredness but no other complaints.
Rant: hubs and I are freaking out about a bedroom for baby, well, lack thereof. We have 3 BR, so he and I are in one, my stepdaughter in one, and stepson in one. Sooo.. no room left for baby. Love my husband but he is a worrier and catastrophizer and not a problem solver so joining forces and coming up with a solution has been hugely challenging. I hate our house now because it really is spacious but the bedrooms are TINY. Never bothered me before but we never planned to have a baby (which is fine, I know she is a blessing!) so now I am bothered. Ugh. I want badly to enjoy this 2nd TM while I feel good physically, but it has been difficult.
Questions: if anyone has similar experience with room shortage and figured out way to overcome or work with it?
GTKY: What's something on your bucket list? Thought I checked everything off but now that I'm carrying this amazing whole other little life around in my body (crazy!!!) I think this whole experience and being a biological mom has been a last minute addition to the list!
Is there space in your room for a crib? Maybe a mini crib or a side car as an alternative? I don't think I am going to have a changing table/dresser this time so I am thinking a basket of diapers and a changing pad that I slide in and out from under the crib and change him on the floor to save space.
How old are your SD and SS?
travel more, especially with the kids.
@cioccolata16 I’m struggling so hard with a name too. It’s stressing me out to not have a name for her. I hope something feels right to you soon!
@cioccolata16 we're thinking about using common living space for "nursery" setup too. DH isn't a huge fan but depending what sort of space we're working with in our bedroom after we measure for bassinet/crib, we may not have other options. We are WFH a lot too so would be nice to have her right there.
@kmw611 I'm thinking the same with night feeding, would be super nice (I think? Lol) to have her right next to my bed. And it's reassuring to hear that you kept DS2 in your room for a year. Guess that was one of my questions/concerns, how long do they sleep in same room, so that's good to know.
Thank you all so much for feedback. Being a surprise FTM things like this are keeping me up at night 😥 but hearing from you all and your experiences and suggestions means more than you know! 🩷
@alexxajams we are stuck in an illness cycle here too. The worst.
@dinomeetsjedi that makes sense about the fruit/veggie comparisons. I also though maybe sometimes weight was involved?? But yeah- they’re all over the place lol
@ceclarlinetlo so glad you got good news 🙌🏼
@halfanewt the things that happen to us while pregnant 🤷🏼♀️ and why garlic?! I also have mostly travel related bucket list items. So much to see!
@cmill828 happy you had a good US report! And I responded to your question on the symptoms thread
@cioccolata16 names are SO hard. We’re struggling too. But not putting much pressure on us figuring it out. I feel like we still have so much time.
@farm_mama hoping you start feeling better soon! And your every day life definitely sounds like a dream to me ❤️ a good reminder to be grateful for things we do have
@aby1228 we bed-share/room-share with both of our kids and will do the same with this baby. We have a very small 2BR house and no plans to move any time soon. I think it would be safe to plan for baby to room share with you for a while giving you time to figure it out. Maybe a bassinet in the beginning and then would a mini crib fit in your room? I have also seen people clean out a closet to use for the crib. There are definitely ways to make it work. I can absolutely see why you’d be stressed thinking about it though. It does feel like such a big consideration.
@kmw611 haven’t had carpal tunnel, but know it’s common in pregnancy. Sounds really annoying, im sorry!
@ceclarlinetlo What a relief to have a good echo! Congrats!
@halfanewt That sucks about the garlic intolerance! I still have a garlic aversion, but that sounds way worse 😕
@cmill828 I had an anterior placenta with my first too - hopefully you start feeling more soon! As for the sex thing - I haven't had the burning sensation, but in my experience sex while pregnant can be a pretty strange and wild ride. Lots of new/different sensations. I'm always waaayyyy more sensitive and need more lube than at other times.
@cioccolata16 There's a name thread on here - feel free to hit us with some ideas! We'd love to generate some suggestions 💜
@aby1228 I feel you on the small house - we are in a small cabin with small, irregularly shaped rooms. My bedroom is tiny and at the top of steep treacherous stairs with no door, so I have never wanted to have a baby up there. The kids share 1 small bedroom. We do have a loft, accessible by a ladder, that DS will move into when he's older, but we're ot quite there yet. Sooooo, when I get too big to deal with the stairs in the middle of the night I will move my bed down into our living/dining room, and when the babies come they will live there with me for the first 6 months or so. It's weird having my bedroom in a central living space, but also kinda fun. It's cramped, but also we aren't likely to have a lot of guests, so 🤷🏻♀️ We are planning a remodel this spring that would tear out my existing br and replace it with something more useful and less dangerous, so after that the babies and I would live in there for the indefinite near future. I also have friends who have a whole family of 5 (2 parents, a 7 year old, a 3 year old and 2 year old) in 1 bedroom and are totally happy with it!
@kmw611 I haven't had carpet tunnel, but my sister did. She had braces she wore on her hands that seemed to help? I think it was related to a pinched nerve caused by how the baby was laying or something like that? It got pretty bad, but resolved after he was born.
@night_nurse Sorry to hear things are heavy right now 💓 I hope it gets better soon 🙏
