After being in the hospital for 3 days due to non-stop vomiting, I made it to my c-section date. Benjamin Lawrence Mathewson came into the world on 10/18 at 1:04 pm at 21 inches long and weighing 10 lbs, 4 oz! Apparently he was not all about participating in life outside the womb so he was pretty limp. Even though he ha ld been moving around and kicking even up through that afternoon. I passed out on the table and never knew he was out until they were rolling him passed me to the NICU. I got a quick glimpse and then had to wait until my spinal wore off and I was able to eat something before I could go see him. He was on a CPAP for his breathing and had gotten antibiotics (I had tested positive for strep B for the 1st time ever - so weird). As if this afternoon though, he's off the CPAP off the antibiotics and should be rooming in with me as long as his last glucose test around 530 is good. I'm so excited!! Also, I felt like a million bucks after he was born. I don't know what he was sitting or leaning against but once he was out, the vomiting was under control. Very strange.
@UnwritteN12 Congratulations! I’m so glad everyone is doing well and that you’re feeling better! I sent you the link for our FB group if you’d like to join us!
Y'all know this already, but I may as well put the announcement here.
Evelyn Veda was born on September 6 at 32 weeks on the dot. I had gone in the day before for one of my twice-weekly BPP's and NST's as she was being closely monitored due to absent end-diastolic flow and severe growth restriction. At that appointment, we saw that the flow had turned to intermittently reversed so the MFM told me to go straight to the hospital and we would prepare for a delivery by C-section the next morning.
Evie was 2 pounds 6 ounces, and 14.5 inches long. She stayed in the NICU for 39 days before finally getting to come home this past Sunday. She has about doubled in weight (she was 4 lbs 3 oz as of her pediatrician appointment on Monday, and I'm guessing probably a few more ounces now). She's a boss baby and has her big sisters and brother totally wrapped around her finger.
@chrissdee I can say with great authority that the best people are born on September 6th 😜. We are birthday buddies! I’m so glad she’s home and thriving!
Cooper Dallas was born on 10/29 at 9:43am. 7lb 14oz, 21 inches long
I went in for my weekly appt on Friday, 10/27, with worsening swelling and severe itching on my palms and feet. I have history of preeclampsia with my previous pregnancies, so my doctor sent me to labor and delivery to have some testing done. I was in the beginning stages of preeclampsia and also had cholestasis. I was already over 38 weeks and baby was safer on the outside so my Dr kept me and induced me!
It was a long few days in the hospital as my cervix wasn’t progressing. But when it happened, I went from a 4 to a 10 in thirty mins and pushed for about 8 mins. So happy he’s here and healthy 🩵
