20 week Anomaly scan - Left uterine artery shows Increased PI

Hi everyone,

I had an anomaly detection scan done yesterday, while the doctor stated that all looks normal, I see the following in the report:

-----------

Left uterine artery shows Increased PI. However mean PI is normal 1.37 (79th centile) Screen negative for PIH.
**Suggested review scan at 23-24 weeks for fetal cardiac evaluation.

The PI values are as follows:

Right uterine PI : 0.98.
Left uterine PI : 1.76.

Heart
Heart appears in the mid position.
Normal cardiac situs. Four chamber view normal.
Outflow tracts appeared normal.

------------

Should I be concerned? What can I do at home to normalize the left uterine artery PI value? Any diet, routine that would help?

Appreciate your support and advice. God Bless!

  • Excellent question for your doctor.  Call your nurses line if you are concerned and would like answers before your next appointment.
  • Loading the player...
  • The doctor is unavailable(on vacation) and back only after 4 days. Can this wait until then?
