Upcoming appointments: Had a check-up this morning and got my updated TDAP vaccine. Next one is a growth ultrasound on 10/16. I can't wait to see her again!
How are you feeling? Excited for my next appointment and still anxious about getting things done. Physically, the heartburn is killing me and I'm not sleeping well, but other than that I'm feeling good.
Raves/Rants: Had a brainstorming session this weekend with my husband about getting the nursery done and we're not totally on the same page with things. I want to paint (the room is currently a blue-ish gray and I want it actual gray), take everything office related out, and really make the room hers. He says we don't really need to paint and thinks we should leave the pull-out couch and my desk in there but just shift things around so there's enough room for her crib and dresser since she's not gonna know anyway. Needless to say, we didn't get any actual work done and kinda decided to measure things out and see how much room we actually have in the room. Plus, we're also waiting to see what we get from the baby shower to see how that affects things...but that's not until Oct. 29.
Questions: Anyone have any suggestions for heartburn other than Tums?
Upcoming appointment: passed my glucose last week and met with an obgyn in the practice. Will see her again next Thursday
How are you feeling: ok. We went camping this weekend and stayed in a yurt with a "mattress." I was really achy and crampy yesterday lol feeling better today
Raves: OBGYN really eased my mind about the scheduled c-section. I can bring my own music and once baby is out if I'm still feeling panicky they can give me some Valium 👏👏👏.
Also my shower is this weekend!!! I'm so excited! I'm ready to get the rest of this baby gear in my house and organized.
Questions: none really. @dmcg17 I've been taking Tums and trying to watch what I eat. It seems worse after caffeine and also after anything fatty. Oh and tomatoes 😭

How are you feeling? Tired oh so tired. Heartburn comes and goes but seems to be tolerable. I am not sleeping well, I wake up roughly every two hours, either my hips hurt or I'm overheating. I am pretty productive in the morning but at 2-3pm I hit a wall and I'm exhausted, it makes me feel lazy! 😕
Raves/Rants: We put our travel system together this past weekend! Pretty happy with it I think. My husband put a clipped a teddy bear in it and has been pushing it around lol it's pretty cute! We also started our hospital bag.
Questions: Anyone else feeling this tried?
@dmcg17 My husband and I have been having similar disagreements. I think this whole journey is going to be a real test or patience and understanding. We talked about it this weekend how we need to really listen to each other and try not to take things too personal when we disagree on how things are going to be done. We are both on the same team and ultimately we are both doing our best. I'm on your side though lol I would want a dedicated room for the baby too! We had a disagreement on the colours to paint the room. We decided to go with the colours he wanted and I actually really like it! Maybe you can leave the room the colour it is but move the desk and couch? 🤷🏼♀️
As for the heartburn I was given a tip last week. When I feel the heartburn starting eat a scoop of chocolate ice cream hahaha. It does seem to work and I always welcome an excuse to eat ice cream! 😅
Upcoming appointments: general checkup was supposed to be today but got rescheduled for Wednesday
How are you feeling? In general good, but fatigue is starting up again.
Raves/Rants: Raves - excited to have family start flying in next week for the baby shower on the 21st. Starting to take classes at the hospital this week and next week (I read a few books to prepare but it’s been months so it’ll be nice to get a refresher by taking the classes).
Rants - nursery has fallen behind schedule. With two of our rooms being used as home offices was relying on the nursery as a spare guest room since we only have one dedicated guest room right now. Getting anxious to get the nursery done so we have room for family flying into town!
Questions: none at the moment
@nerakh246 I’m having the same issue when it comes to sleep. Constantly being woken up to use the restroom or my hips throbbing (feels like I have to switch sides every 15 minutes). It’s hard to adjust to at first but I started using a bed wedge pillow and propping myself up even more with pillows so I’m elevated and not sleeping entirely on my back. Sleeping while sitting up is not ideal but it helps with the hip pain and able to get a couple hours of decent sleep that way.
@Ahrob135 I actually just started sleeping sitting up and it's seems to help. I'm the exact same I switch sides like every 15-20 mins, and like you said if it not my hips waking me up then I have to pee or I am sooooo hot! My sister says it's just prep for when the baby comes and I think she might be right! Lol
How are you feeling? Pretty good! Definitely feeling heavier and a little more sore in my hips and lower back the odd time. But my energy levels are staying strong so far so I am taking advantage of that. Disrupted sleep seems to be the norm now as I always have to get up to pee once in the middle of the night. Baby boy likes to have a dance party once I get back into bed so that usually keeps me up for a little while before I fall back to sleep. I'm trying to rest when I can.
Raves/Rants: I am so impressed with how much he moves around. Everyday, usually in the evening, he squirms a lot and I love watching my belly move around and feeling him shift, stretch and kick me. Some movements near my sides and ribs are slightly uncomfortable but I always smile when it happens because I love that he is so active and how often I can connect with him everyday.
Baby is the size of a(n): "Today Baby is as long as the circumference of a 3-6-month-old baby's hat" - where do they come up with this stuff?!
Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: pink
Upcoming appointments: 3rd growth/development scan in one week.
How are you feeling? Still exhausted, but slightly better. I've reintroduced my morning coffee and kicked my snoring husband out to the guest room at night. Turns out his snoring was about 50% of the problem (the rest is sore hips and getting up to pee). Other than that it's really only acid reflux when I lie down. Baby's movements are also starting to hurt, especially when she's transverse. Luckily she's pretty responsive to me pushing her into a better position
Raves/Rants: My first Baby's birthday is this week (his birth gave me PTSD) and the day after is the anniversary of the day my second baby and I almost died, so it's an emotionally rough week. I remain grateful for a very normal, boring pregnancy this time around
@dmcg17 not sure if you're willing to take the medication route, but I have been vomiting because of the intense heartburn, so my provider suggested I take pepcid. It works when I don't eat certain "dangerous" foods. Interestingly, chocolate and dairy make it a lot worse, so I've been having to stay away from chocolate ice cream and the like!

How are you feeling? Like I've been run over by a truck and keep vomiting. My sister has been telling me that I'm eating unfriendly foods, but her route is eating very limited foods. People around me have stopped letting me do things, which is weird, but also appreciated. A seat collapsed from under me and I fell. it really freaked me out since baby didn't kick for a while after that, and I started cramping, but after a few hours, the cramping stopped and the baby gave some reassuring kicks (and has been VERY active since then)
Raves/Rants: my sister in law had a baby girl a few days ago! Everyone thought she was having a boy! She hasn't named the baby yet (what is she waiting for??) Her and my husband's grandmother passed recently, and was very loved by everyone. My husband and I also love his grandmother's name and decided that if we have a girl, we'd name her after his grandma. But now we're not sure if his sister will do the same! I feel like it's not right to name my child the same name as their cousin who is just a few weeks apart from them! My husband doesn't care so much and doesn't think it's wrong if they share a name. Now I'm hoping that she chooses a different name (she prefers more modern names) or that we have a boy!
Questions: I've been getting these heat flashes every so often-normal?
How are you feeling? Really Tired, Drained, Uncomfortable etc…
Raves/Rants: First, I want to thank everyone for all the well wishes in previous update. It is truly needed at this time.
It’s starting to look like I may be a November Mama although I’m due Dec 5th. This past Sunday I couldn’t keep anything down not even water to the point I started vomiting blood. Went to the ER and had to be admitted my hemoglobin was a 9. The OB ER doctor that was on Sunday night was not that great. When I arrived I went to the regular ER and the called up to the OB ER to find out if she wanted me up there and she rejected me. The regular ER doctor saw me and admitted me. He then had to get me transfer right to the person who originally rejected me. 😒 Once on the OB floor the doctor comes in and belittled me as if I didn’t know the difference between vomiting blood or if it was just streaks of blood. She then says that the regular ER notified her that my hemoglobin was a 9 and she would just observe me overnight. My Blood pressure was 79/54 and my heart rate was over a 100 and She never called my OB! My OB wasn’t the on call doctor for her practice but just so happen to wake up and find out I was there she came in at 6 AM to see me and ordered my labs be taken over. My hemoglobin went down to 8.2. From all of the vomiting I tore a little hole in my esophagus which caused the bleeding. I ended up getting a blood transfusion. I was kept there until yesterday afternoon and now I’m home resting. I missed my OB appointment obviously 🙄 so now I’m rescheduled for Monday. I’m just really tired now and trying not to stress or worry.
Upcoming appointments: Check up & TDAP vaccine tomorrow!
How are you feeling? I’m feeling pretty good this week, other than being exhausted and scatter brained all of the time! Things are definitely starting to get heavier, and I’m experiencing some pelvic discomfort… but makes sense as baby is weighing about a pound ahead of schedule (in the 91st percentile!)
Raves/Rants: I’m working on my birth plan and postpartum plan… including the visits from family. I’m a bit nervous that it’s going to ruffle some feathers when we share, but hoping for the best, and trying to make the best decisions for our family/ baby! Also, had a dream last night that we had a toddler boy who was named one of the names we’re seriously considering… kinda freaky!!
Questions: We officially have our c section date… 11/30!!! Does anyone have suggestions for creating a peaceful (as can be) scheduled section?
@dmcg17 I was having really bad heartburn (maxing out on Tums each day and occasionally throwing up from the acid) and my Dr. recommended I try Pepcid too. It’s been a game changer for me!!!
Upcoming appointments: general checkup next Thursday
How are you feeling? I’m tired. Baby has been moving a bunch, he’s actually much more active than my oldest son. Sometimes he will stretch while sideways and it hurts but so cute to see! My hips and pelvic hurt but it is what it is. The bath and a good soak In some Epsom salts seem to help. I feel you ladies on feeling hot at night. My husband looks at me sideways when I set the thermostat to 69 but I’m an incubator 😂
Raves/Rants: We are gearing up for the move. Not sure if I’m nesting or just a random burst of energy but I am packing like a mad woman lol. I do what I can but it’s still frustrating because my back and knees and hips still take a toll and I have to rest
Honestly Ice water or just room temp water has helped me with the acid reflux but those tums help when it’s real bad
How are you feeling? Depends on the day. Pretty much everything wears me out, but still getting out with my son to wear HIM out enough to take a nap and let me get some rest at some point in the day, but I still fall asleep on the couch shortly after we put him to bed. Getting much more emotional. We went to the beach with my in-laws last week and I had some emotional days. Just got over a fight with my husband over stuff that happened on the trip. I've been having bouts of elevated blood pressure, breathlessness and slight dizziness. Turns out I'm anemic so was told to take iron in the morning with orange juice. Also passed my Glucose test! But it was higher than I thought it'd be, probably from eating poorly at the beach and having a bowl of icecream the night before the test. I've been peeing less in the night, but that's been replaced with hip pain and constantly switching sides. I have my huge horseshoe pregnancy pillow and a wedge pillow on both sides, so I don't need to do too much pillow resituating each time, at least. I feel little boy moving all throughout the day, but the times I try to lay down and rest or go to bed is when he gets CRAZY, non stop for several minutes.
Raves/Rants: I miss sleeping on my back 😫
Also the fair is in town and I'm excited to take our son, but a little bummed I won't be able to ride any of the rides with him.
Also trying to get maternity and newborn pictures lined up. We never did any professional ones with my first son, thanks to Covid, and it's so overwhelming with choosing someone to go with!
Questions: none atm
@sweetleeyah that's terrible! I'm so sorry you had to go through that and deal with an imbecile er dr. Thank God your Ob came first thing in the am!
@foreverhughes4123 Girl, me! My nausea decided today was a great day to return. I was about to leave the house to volunteer at my son's school, ran to the bathroom to puke, and peed all over myself 😭😭😭😭. I'm done.
