I didn’t get much last time because I had a uniform I wore to work. I got two pairs of jeans. One full panel and one with just the stretchy parts on the hips, I didn’t wear those because they didn’t fit me well. I prefer Higher-waisted jeans. I got both from target. I liked the full panel ones but I didn’t fill them out until I really started getting a bump so like after 20 weeks. Other than going out/to work I lived in sweats lol i use the hair-tie trick for a while. I’m still in regular jeans now. For shirts I either wore my husbands or I’d fry to still wear my shirts 🤣 I did get a few maternity tanks & tops from target. All of them were good. I also bought my baby shower dress there. I might venture to other shops this time depending on what I want to get. But I’m not sure where yet! It will be different because I will be my biggest during the cooler/rainy months instead of summer.
Really curious when I'll need to start planning and buying some clothing for first pregnancy. I know it's not time yet, but I don't want to wake up one morning and suddenly not have anything that fits! My bras are already starting to dig in a little bit. When did you start buying some items, and what did you need first?
My first pregnancy I was lucky enough to have an older sister who had already had a baby, wore the same size as me and had purchased quality maternity clothes that I could borrow. I remember the pink blush maternity brand t shirts were so comfortable, high quality, and lasted all the way to the very end when my belly was so big. The most comfortable maternity jeans she had were from GAP. This time around I am a bigger size than my previous pregnancy so I’m mostly on my own for getting clothes. I’m 7 weeks and I’ve purchased a couple pairs of leggings and a pair of maternity jeans from GAP because I know those are the first things I’ll need. Planning to buy shirts from pink blush but my size is sold out on a lot of the shirts I want so I’m waiting until they come back in stock. I am petite so I tend to show early as my belly has no where to go but out. My first pregnancy I was showing by 12 weeks, I can already see my lower belly puffing out this time around at 7 weeks (no one else would be able to tell), so I’m expecting to be showing around 10 weeks this time. During my first pregnancy I was able to make my normal clothes work until second trimester, by using the hair tie trick on jeans to close them and wearing dresses.
I bought my first pieces early, I think I got the two pairs of jeans before I even had a bump, maybe I was around 9-10 weeks. You can get the clothes at any time and keep tags on just in case they don’t fit the way you want when you have a bump. I would’ve returned my first pairs but I took the tags off lol i didn’t start getting shirts until I was farther along but it’s really preference. I think I also got a pair of leggings that had a full panel
