Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan next Tuesday. Lately I have been feeling a lot more hard emotions while waiting for the Scan. It’s so close but still so far away. Ever since we saw the cystic hygroma at 10 weeks I have been anxious to get to this scan so we could see his heart. I don’t want bad news of course but I am just so tired of not knowing what’s going on. Hearing any news at this point would be better than this.

How are you feeling?: very tired and unmotivated

Baby is the size of a (an): orange 🍊 🍊

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙💙

Upcoming Appointments: Had one today with the health educator, who gave a good pep talk about twin pregnancy and delivery, and will have an appt with the MW on Friday.

How are you feeling?: More energy, feeling good, but (as noted in the symptoms thread) having some food aversions rearing their ugly heads. I'm trying so hard to eat more and especially protein, but so often find myself forcing myself to eat something that just doesn't taste good, even though I know I would normally love it. It's so frustrating because I love to eat, but my appetite just isn't keeping up.

Rants/Raves: I'm sooooo hot all the time now! It was really hot again last week and I was absolutely miserable. Luckily this week is cooler and I feel like my well being and attitude are so much better ☺️

    Questions:

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? Cool weather! Getting to wear pants and cozy sweaters and drink tea and not sweat. Also, the end of fire season and all the anxiety that goes with that.

Baby is the size of a (an): orange

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: next week for a monthly check, I get to meet one of the office midwives.

How are you feeling?: good, still anxious. I’m off the progesterone now that’s one less thing to try and remember.

Rants/Raves: rant- I’ve started having random nosebleeds which is just annoying. I get them in the fall/winter usually anyway when we start using the fireplace for heat but I feel like it’s going to be even worse this winter.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? I loved the leaf changes and visiting the cider mill back east. Here we have a tradition of making cider at my husbands uncles house every year. He has a small orchard and we usually make 10-12 gallons to can plus more for each of his siblings and mom to can as well.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/25, 13+1

    Upcoming Appointments: not for awhile
How are you feeling?: still nauseous, getting resigned to it

Rants/Raves: it’s been cooler this week and I’m loving it! Also, I cannot seem to leave for work on time - aaahh

    Questions:

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? Cozy sweaters, changing leaves, and soup!

Baby is the size of a (an): Apple

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow

How are you feeling?: So tired and overwhelmed. I have a cold which isn't helping.

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? Everything! Fall on the farm is so beautiful! As long as we don't have snow we can keep the cows out on range so we have some time before winter chores start. I love fall foods! Warm soups and comfort foods. Lots of hot tea. A love having a fire in evenings. I am looking forward to sweaters.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 2/26; 17+1

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): Chipmunk

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: 10/9 for the anatomy scan! I can't wait

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling really good! I've felt twinges and things, but no definitive movements yet. But I'm anxious to feel the baby move. I just got back from a bachelorette party in Miami, and I'm exhausted, but so glad I went and got quality girl time before baby comes!

Rants/Raves: I just found out another cousin is pregnant, making 4 new babies in the course of 7 months on my husband's side! It's always been my dream to have my kids grow up in a big family like I did (mom and dad are both 1 of 6), it's just so exciting that my dream is coming true!

    Questions: *TW miscarriage

I recently posted that my best friend was pregnant, and she just miscarried. I'm holding space for her and loving her from afar, and trying to not talk about my pregnancy around her right now. For any mamas that have gone through miscarriage, is there anything that you found helpful from your friends, or anything you wish someone would have done for you in that time? We live in different cities so I sent her a care package, but I just wish I could do more for her, while being respectful of this painful time.

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? Bonfires, cool mornings and evenings, Sweata Weatha, My birthday!
  • @ceclarlinetlo I'm sorry you're having the hard feelings with your anatomy scan coming up. I will be thinking of you next Tuesday. I hope you get the best news you can hope for. <3

@farm_mama being sick while pregnant is truly the worst. I hope you feel better soon!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 2/24, 17+3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): pomegranate?

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: 9/29 for anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: tired and having some braxton hicks already, but otherwise I can't complain. I'm hoping I'm starting to feel the 2nd trimester magic.

Rants/Raves: My partner has had Covid since Saturday. I am thinking maybe my daughter and I will avoid getting it since we have been okay so far. I am making him stay in the basement for the full 5 day recommended quarantine and now that he's finally starting to feel better I think he is a little annoyed but I really don't want to get sick. I hate being sick while pregnant and not able to take anything. But single parenting (and taking care of the second, adult child) is exhausting. My rave is I bought some "lululemon dupe" maternity leggings off of amazon (CRZ brand in case anyone else wants them) and they are super soft and super comfortable and I don't want to take them off. I only bought one pair because I am picky about clothing comfort sometimes and now I am trying to justify buying more!

Questions: I have a few people who have said they want to buy things off of our registry, but I don't really feel like we need a ton of things and haven't really made one. I have a car seat (for the toddler to upgrade to, she's tiny and still in the infant car seat for now) baby soap, a new carrier/wrap because I don't really like the one I have and am hoping to do a lot of baby wearing. Otherwise I need diapers and clothing (although I'm really hoping to just find a big batch of second hand boy clothes somewhere and be done with it). Is there anything I might be overlooking for toddler or a new (boy this time) baby, or me that I should be putting on a registry? I just don't feel like we need a lot. We found what worked with my toddler and kept it all.

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? I like getting to wear sweaters and changing my wardrobe because I get sick of my summer stuff after awhile. But then once it gets cold instead of just cool then I'm over it because I hate winter and hate wearing tons of layers and so many heavy things all the time.
  • @ceclarlinetlo sending positive thoughts for the anatomy scan next week. Hope it's the best news that can be expected.

@dinomeetsjedi what about a meal prep/delivery service or something that might be useful in the first couple of months while you're juggling a newborn and a toddler? Or books are always nice...

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 20w+0d (halfway!!)

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a (an): banana or large sweet potato

    Team blue/pink/green: girl

    Upcoming Appointments: two weeks

How are you feeling?: generally pretty good, just a bit stretched (and the rlp is for real). Tire easily, and still getting a bit light-headed (though even that seems to have improved). Lots of little movements now; she's particularly active around 10 or 11pm and 5 or 6am.

Rants/Raves: We went to one of my husband's good friends' house on Sunday and shared the news. This was particularly exciting because they're also expecting a little girl about two months before us! We don't know too many people here, so it's really great that we will have someone to go through the new child milestones with!

Questions: Anyone with a cat? What did you do when you had a newborn? I'm a bit worried about our furball jumping into the crib and sleeping on top of baby. But we also live in an apartment, so closing doors really reduces the territory size (she also looooves to sleep at the foot of our bed).

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? Leaves changing and that crisp feeling. If only the days didn't get shorter. I'm also excited to harvest our apple tree this season!

Baby is the size of a (an): 🍎

Team blue/pink/green: Green until the end 🤞🏼

Upcoming Appointments: Home birth Midwife on the 27th

How are you feeling?: Tired, and bloated, like nothing fits right. Just generally uncomfortable wearing any clothes. At least I get to wear scrubs at work.

Rants/Raves: Rave for a great day at the Zoo with my oldest. It was nice having a day with just him ❤️

    Questions:

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? The cooler weather. Living the South means we get a usually warmer Fall but at least it is better than Summer! Also enjoy apple picking, the upcoming holidays, baking, and the start of new seasons of tv shows.
  • @alexxajams my 2nd pregnancy was my hardest. Nauseated for so long. Finally got some zofran in 2nd tri and it helped immensely.

@ceclarlinetlo FX for a good scan. Im not familiar with that diagnosis but hoping for the best for you, and at the very least, some more information.

@hedgepig im sorry you’re having some unfortunate symptoms right now. Hoping it gets better for you.

@kmw611 what a fun fall family tradition you guys have ❤️

@halfanewt im somehow always running late lately too and I have the WORST pregnancy brain.

@farm_mama hope you feel better soon! We just got over head colds too and it was extra miserable.

@cmill828 my AS is 10/9 too! And it’s so sweet of you to be so concerned about your friend especially in the context of your own pregnancy. As someone who has experienced that, it stings to see other people announcing pregnancies, posting updates, etc. Keep her due date in mind and maybe send her some flowers or a sweet note on that day to let her know you haven't forgotten her baby. Ask if she needs to talk regularly, and don’t let her loss alter your friendship or make you pull away for fear of upsetting her. Chances are, she’ll still be so excited for you and want to show up for you in your pregnancy, but allow yourself to have low expectations in case it ends up being really tough on her.

@dinomeetsjedi glad you both have stayed healthy so far! And i feel the same way about this 3rd baby re:registry. Especially since our 2nd will be just under 2 when they are born. Im thinking ill mostly need to replace some breastfeeding stuff, new bottles, a few postpartum things, and infant vitamins. I would ask for amazon gift cards to go toward diapers. I hate asking for boxes of diapers as every baby is different and you may end up with diapers you’ll have to return because of sensitivities or peeing out (boys!)

@cioccolata16 so fun that you’re noticing a pattern to baby’s movements. I have always noticed that the patterns for a few weeks after baby is born too ❤️
  • @cmill828 I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s loss. I’d follow her lead as far as your pregnancy goes. She’ll may still want to be there for you and be excited for you even if she’s still sad for her. What helped me most was my bestie checking in randomly to see how I was doing and just listening when I wanted to rant or be sad or not talk about it at all.

Baby is the size of a (an): yam

    Team blue/pink/green: green for now

    Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan tomorrow!!

How are you feeling?: Feeling okay just tired. So nervous for the scan tomorrow. I just want bebe to be healthy

Rants/Raves: everyone is getting sick in my family so I'm nervous about upcoming hunting season and having our toddler by myself. I know people do it all the time but I am not a fan of solo parenting for days on end

    Questions: nothing at the moment

GTKY: What's your favorite part of autumn? I love it all and am so glad to be in a place that has all four seasons. I like the cool weather and the comfy clothes. Snuggly blankets and hot apple cider. Pumpkins and leaves changing and fall activities...
  • @alexxajams The hangover -> morning sickness comparison is so accurate!

@ceclarlinetlo Thinking of you and hoping for good news this week 🙏 I would be so tired of not knowing too 💓

@kmw611 Ooooh, I hadn't realized you can can apple juice! We have a cider press too, and usually turn it all into hard cider, but it would be fun to can some for the kids!

@halfanewt I feel you on always running late! It doesn't seem to matter what I do, I'm always yelling at the kids that we're going to be late for school/work. Every. Damn. Morning. 🫠

@farm_mama Colds while you're pregnant  are so not fair 😥

@cmill828 Yay for so many cousins for your baby! Do they live nearby? Sorry about your friend though 😔 I think everyone else gave really good advice on it - when I went through my MCs I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want the attention/sympathy/pity, but just wanted to process on my own. I hope she is able to get pregnant again soon and before you know it she'll have her rainbow 🌈 and you'll be raising your babies together ❤️

@dinomeetsjedi I was like you on the registry question before finding out it was twins! It can't hurt to put some cute boy stuff on there, because you know how people love to buy baby clothes! I hope you and your daughter both escape covid, and YH feels better soon!

@cioccolata16 Yay for feeling movement and having friends who will have a baby close in age to yours. That's the best!

@night_nurse Glad you got some quality time with your oldest! We're hoping to make it to the zoo this month too.

@SpartanCat I am so excited for all these anatomy scans! How did it go?

  • @SpartanCat I'm glad your ultrasound went well overall. That's frustrating about having to do genetic testing after all but hopefully you are able to get it done and get some peace of mind. I also waited over 3 weeks once we had our gender result to do a small gender reveal when we could get people together and it was so hard to wait. But it's fun and worth it!
