Measurement off by 4 days

I had an ultrasound at what I thought was 6 weeks and 6 days, but I measured at 6 weeks and 2 days. I know when me and my husband had sex so that means I got pregnant 4 days after having sex, which seems unlikely since we’ve been trying for years. That makes me worried the baby actually just isn’t growing. Anyone have anything similar and it turned out ok?

    Sperm can last in the female body up to 5 days.   It is not about WHEN you had sex its about when you OVULATE.  you could have had sex without ovulation and a Sperm was still alive when you ovulated 4 days later.  

    Also ultrasounds are only as accurate as the tech.  Birth Due dates are ESTIMATES not an exact science.

    I have the same thing with my babies too! They normally measure at least a week behind because of the time I ovulate, totally normal! I also got pregnant 3-5 days after having sex it’s more common then you would think

    For what it's worth, both of my kids measured 7w based off the ultrasound when the EDD by my LMP should have been 8w.

    1. It depends on the ultrasound tech and how they measure the baby, I had one tech measure me 1 day off and another measure 4days off. 

    2. My OB said if the measurement is off by 4days or less they still go by the LMP because it’s totally normal. 

    3. Baby does most of their growing later in the pregnancy so don’t fret if they’re measuring a little smaller now. If there’s anything to worry about, your OB will tell you.
