EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/1 almost 7 weeks

Upcoming Appointments: 9/20, 9/26, 10/23

How are you feeling?: I feel relatively okay. But feeling pretty anxious. I took another test today and it was lighter than they have been. It wasn’t the most concentrated urine so I’m banking on that? But still at almost 7 weeks I would assume my HCG should be high. So that sent me into a tailspin. I’m going to take another in the morning and see what it is. If it’s still light I might ask to be seen in person next week for a scan. Even if I have to pay OOP for it I want to know if things aren’t going well. I don’t want to be surprised by bleeding or anything especially if I’m at work. I just don’t feel good about this pregnancy. Idk why I’ve been preparing myself for a loss this whole time. I’ll feel really silly (yet grateful) if everything is okay though.

Rants/Raves: it’s my sons 3rd birthday next week! We have his cake ordered but I need to order some balloons and gifts. He likes sharks right now so that will be the theme.

Questions: have you ever had tests that got lighter after a few weeks but everything was progressing normally?

the last vacation we took was to Disney world earlier this year! We went with my family. It was so fun but totally make me broke lol it was great to see my son there though he had a great time

I’ve read about something called “the hook effect” that could cause that. It sounds rare, but not impossible! I’d definitely test again tomorrow- maybe concentration was just different? Hang in there! I hate this first trimester uncertainty!

Thank you!! I was looking at some forums about it. They said to dilute urine and try again. I’m going to do that tomorrow!

Rants/Raves: just got home last night from a work trip to NYC, it was fun but so glad to be home

Upcoming Appointments: I had my first midwife appointment today which went really well and have another one scheduled in two weeks for ultrasound and bloodwork

How are you feeling?: the symptoms really started right at 6 weeks (fatigue, nausea, food aversions, breast tenderness, emotional) and came on really strong. I got seabands and the nausea has been soooo much better the last few days.

Rants/Raves: I’m trying to eat healthy but all I want to eat is crappy foods

Questions: if you have other kids when did you tell them you were pregnant? My boys are 6 & 4 and have been asking for another sibling so they are going to be excited

GTKY - Tell us about the last vacation you took or an upcoming one that you have planned. My husband and I went to Jamaica in April and are starting to plan a family vacation just after Christmas.

How are you feeling?: good. Some twinges of nausea, bloating, tired

Rants/Raves: we went out for our anniversary tonight which was lovely

Questions:

We told my now 6yo about her now 3yo sister after we got NIPT results back. This time I’ll probably wait until I hear the hb at my 12 week appt because I had a MMC at 11 weeks.

GTKY - Tell us about the last vacation you took or an upcoming one that you have planned.

Last vacation was to the beach in NJ. It was really great (I love the beach).

@catem07 I grew up in NJ! Some of my fondest childhood memories are from
when we would take family vacay to LBI with all of my dads fam 🥰

@mvpa my son is almost 3 and we haven’t kept it a secret but he doesn’t get it yet 🤣 I think as things progress and I get a bump I’ll start talking about the baby more and how to act around a baby etc!

@catem07 so fun!! All of my family is still in Jersey so I try to visit yearly but we went to Disney this year so we probably won’t go until next year (with hopefully a new baby!)
