Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o Sep 4

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o Sep 4

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): TWW in natural cycle

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Acupuncture and herbs

How are things going?: I’m feeling pretty good. We got good timing, assuming I’m right about O day (my chart’s kind of wonky right now though and FF disagrees with me, but I think I’m right)

    Any questions?: Nope

Nothing major. We are doing a vacation next weekend, though, which will be nice since there will be less people traveling

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): recurrent miscarriage syndrome, blocked left tube, positive lupus anticoagulant antibodies.

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): limbo- waiting for my cycle back, and it’s messy. Probably another d and c next week.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): going for an ultrasound tomorrow to confirm what’s going on, then a d&c next week most likely. Again.

How are things going?: it’s been a week. I am exhausted and sad.

    Any questions?:

GTKY: Did you do anything fun for Labor Day Weekend? Nope (TW pet loss) our elderly cat woke up Saturday very sick and passed away Monday. We took her to an emergency vet, and they offered to put her down, but she wasn’t in pain, so we offered her palative care and let her pass naturally, surrounded by family.
So that derailed our Labor Day plans. And also- really sucks.

    @b@britters314 enjoy your vaycay!

  • Well. This may be my “graduation.”
The location of the tissue is indicative of a Interstitial ectopic pregnancy. The treatment for that is a hysterectomy.
My doctor is a professor at Harvard and married to another, she is reaching out to her colleagues to see if we have any other options. But if allowed to continue this has a pretty high maternal mortality rate.
This isn’t how I thought my journey here would end.
I’ll update (likely a final time) next week to confirm and say goodbye.

  • @charmedlifex3 I'm so sorry to hear about all this. It's a lot of different things adding to the emotional toll. I really hope your doctor has some good news for you soon ❤️
