@hedgepig I’m not ready to give up laying on my belly yet or laying flat on my back!
Nothing going on here. My parents were supposed to fly in for my niece’s first birthday but got stuck in Florida when the airport closed due to the hurricane. So now all plans for the next week are canceled minus the birthday party. Kinda loving the free time though
I'm alive!! I survived summer, and "vacation" and making the carpool schedule. The kids started school yesterday, and my house is gloriously quiet. This is the first time all my kids are in school since my oldest was born 7.5 years ago. Going to enjoy it until March.
We typically spend a week at my parents every summer, where my mom works to give me a little break. This year my mom broke her foot a week and half before we got there. They insisted that we come up anyway, because they really wanted to see us. It was good that we were there, because my kids were able to entertain my mom while she's stuck on the couch, and it was nice having my dad make lunch and dinner every night (he went to chef school in his 20s and is an amazing cook) but it definitely was not the break I had envisioned.
Then we got home, and went right into back to school craziness, the beginning of the week we had to juggle doctors, and dentist appointment, and the million and one back to school events the schools insist on not thinking about how working parents will juggle it all. But we survived, and I have a quiet house, I was even able to fit in some exercise yesterday and today, which felt good after such a lazy first tri.
@mrosek91 I’m glad you survived the hectic back to school week! I’m sorry your break with your mom plans got turned around but glad you had a nice visit. Enjoy your quiet house while you’ve got one!
Oh no @hedgepig! I hope you are able to get some rest and feel better soon.
After a three year hiatus from group educational settings DS is starting a preK program this week. I am absolutely dreading the back to school germ factory.
it was my nieces 1st birthday yesterday and my SILs grandma loudly asked me almost immediately after I got there when I was due. I was tempted to say I’m not, that’s just my fat (my default response after I was repeatedly asked when I was due 3 months pp with #2😐) but I quietly responded that I’m due in March but we are not sharing the news yet. She was like oh ok I won’t say anything and then immediately told SILs mom who immediately told SIL who immediately told my brother. None of whom said anything to me until today when I was picking my sons up from SILs house and she was like hey do you want all this girl stuff before I gift it to my friend due next month? And then stared at me knowingly. Annoying that grandma ruined the news for me but we were planning on sharing with my fam when my parents got here last week anyway but the hurricane ruined it.

Cleaned and reorganized our basement today. I’m tired but it looks so much better!
@hedgepig hope it’s a short cold for you! I was sick a couple of weeks ago and yuck!
