Re: Weekly Check-In 8/21

  • EDD/Weeks + days: December 31st, 21 wks+1 day, but at all my ultrasound appointments, baby measures and weighs a week ahead

Baby is the size of a(n): endive based on the app, coconut based on baby's measurements

Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: 💙 just found out it's a boy, so I'll have two boys

Upcoming appointments: Aug 28th to recheck on anatomy scan. At first one, baby wouldn't let sonographer get good look at heart and facial profile

How are you feeling? Ok for the most part, have energy to do lots of things and then after a while it catches up with me and I feel like my feet are getting swollen, so I lay down and put feet up. Started having bad hip pain yesterday after laying on the floor in my son's cozy corner. I assume from the relaxin in my hips in preparation for baby, laying on it funny almost feels like it shifted.

Raves/Rants: so many quickenings and kicks! Husband can just barely feel them from the outside.

Questions: Anyone have more bleeding than spotting with sex? We had sex a few days ago and I bled quite a bit during/after. Like, husband had it on his belly and all over him like when i was on period and it was red. Called Obgyn and talked to nurse, since I wasn't having any cramping or pain, she said it was just my cervix being sensitive especially since I was on top. The bleeding stopped shortly after sex and was just spotting for a few hours. This is my second pregnancy and it's never been that much, just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced that much after sex before.

    Questions: none
  • Weeks: 23

Baby is the size of a grapefruit

    Team blue!

Upcoming appointment: had a length check yesterday and PRAISE GOD my cervix had remained the same.

How are you feeling: Pretty good. Still get tired really easily. I'm napping most days.

    Rants/Raves: none really

    Questions: none

I hope @dmcg17 is enjoying her babymoon!

@jordieburd, I have not had that experience. That would freak me out too!

Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!
    Beta confirmed 8/22
    EDD 5/1/17
  • @jordieburd I've never experienced that, but I did have a partial placental abruption, so I can tell you that even having blood run down your leg to your knee is a "see the doctor sometime today" case, and not an emergency (which surprised me). I'm sure the nurse has experience with when a patient should come in, but call again if you're still nervous.

    EDD/Weeks + days: Dec 21/ 23 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): Grapefruit

    Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: pink

Upcoming appointments: academic OB tomorrow! I am wayyyy overprepared, but this is my only chance to get my questions answered. Both excited and anxious :#

How are you feeling? Sweaty. I got my first pregnancy injury: my elbow was so sweaty that it slipped out from under me and scraped across my desk, skinning my elbow :D I've also gotten a few jabs from baby that were strong enough to hurt a bit, especially on my cervix. This is escalating quickly!

Raves/Rants: As of tomorrow I should all of my baby gear! All I have to do in November is wash some things.

    Upcoming appointments: sept. 1st

How are you feeling? Energy levels are still good. Work has been stressful and nonstop.

Raves/Rants: super excited my husband is doing a room renovation for the nursery but nervous it’s not going to get finished until November (a month before due date)!

Questions: first time mom here — did you take infant CPR classes?
  • @ahrob135 I'm a NICU mom, so yes, we had to take infant CPR classes to leave the hospital. SO valuable.

Upcoming appointments: glucose test next week, check up the week after

How are you feeling? Pretty good other than low energy. Feeling lots of baby movement now which is comforting.

    Raves/Rants: none

    Questions: none

@ahrob135 I was thinking of taking infant CPR classes as well. I would rather have the knowledge and not need it, than need it and not have it!
  • Thank you @foreverhughes4123 for posting and thank you @clt2pwm11 for the well wishes!

    EDD/Weeks + days: 25 weeks today - 12/9.

Baby is the size of a(n): Eggplant according to the PreMom app and cauliflower according to The Bump.

    Upcoming appointments: Glucose Test 9/18

How are you feeling? Feeling nice and relaxed after a week away!  We're stuck at the airport for a few hours now and will be back home tomorrow afternoon, but it was definitely nice to just have some time away as a couple before Baby Girl arrives.  Had some stress with being away from work since we own our own businesses, but we took some time each day to just tackle some emails and make sure the team had things handled back home.

Raves/Rants: Starting to get anxious about the nursery situation! The crib and dresser arrived right before we left (so our poor petsitter had to deal with boxes all over our house 🤦🏼‍♀️) but it's currently my office space, we we have to clear out my stuff before we can start to put anything new in there.  We've also started getting a couple things off the registry, so I just have piles of baby stuff and nowhere to put it yet.  I know we've got time, but also time seems to be flying by!

    Questions: None at the moment.
  • Anyone else really struggling with fatigue?
It has been ridiculously hot here which could be part of it. On Friday, I walked to get my son from school. We were outside a total of 20 minutes. I was done the rest of the day. Today I went to the river with my family. It was off and on overcast and I drank plenty of water. I can barely keep my eyes open this evening, and I had a nap before we went!

Tonight it just feels like I've been pregnant forever and I'm really questioning my body's ability to keep this up.
