Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o Aug 21

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o Aug 21

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): IUI

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): ongoing treatment

How are things going?: was on letrozole for 5 days, then did an additional 5 days at a higher dose and went in today. Doc said I wasn't progressing like he'd hoped so going to continue for another 5 days at the higher dose. I've been bruising easily from all the blood tests so I'm here trying not to look at all these purple marks on my arms 😬

Any questions?: Wondering how I'll be managing high cholesterol since I needed to stop all my medication during treatment

GTKY: What is your go-to takeout order? I love Thai and usually get pineapple fried rice

  • @winterecho ugh sorry your ovaries aren’t doing what you want them to - I have lived that life more than once and it’s the worst every time! Hopefully the higher dose works and you can stop getting constantly poked!

    Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): IVF

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): egg retrieval was over the weekend

How are things going?: my egg retrieval was on Saturday, and it went really well! I’ll put my results in a spoiler just in case you don’t want to hear my numbers haha. Recovery has been super hard, today is the first day I feel sorta ok to do stuff, but I’m nowhere near 100%. I’m still ridiculously bloated and definitely still regularly taking max dose of Tylenol. Now we wait until Friday to hear how many eggs make it to day 6, and they’ll go off for testing!

    Retrieval results:

Eggs: 29 (not sure exactly how many were mature but it’s no wonder my ovaries hurt lol)
    Fertilized: 18

    Any questions?: NATM

GTKY: What is your go-to takeout order? Chicken pho! So good.
  • @optimisticoctopus hoping you're feeling better now that it's later in the week! I've been here feeling so blah from the side effects of the letrozole

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, blocked left tube

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): still waiting for my cycle to come back! 😒

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I have an ultrasound tomorrow to hopefully figure out what’s going on.

How are things going?: Outside of ttc- pretty well! My home renovations are SO close to done. I need to finish the home gym, and we have the plumber coming to finish up then - done! Phew. My husband had a tooth pulled last Friday and it’s been the man cold times ten. He’s still moaning around the house. He’s headed back to the dentist tomorrow.

    Any questions?:

GTKY: What is your go-to takeout order? Eggplant parm sub! But there is a place near us that has poutine and that has definitely been on the order lately!

@w@winterecho make sure you loop in your regular doctor! They may have suggestions. Hope you are feeling better. Letrozole I found awful.
@o@optimisticoctopus I always say- you just need ONE! Those are great numbers to start off at!
