  • My cat has been embracing outdoor cat life this summer. So far this week I’ve had a half eaten bird and a beheaded mouse on the back porch. Not a great combo with constant nausea, let me tell you…
  • my kiddos start school tomorrow! So excited and nervous for my twinks! My oldest is at their intermediate school this year and got her first locker 🥲 time just flies!! Wednesday (tomorrow) is our anniversary and Friday we have our vow renewal at our church! So, a lot! 😆
we’re eating at a steakhouse after and my preggy self is SUPER excited about that 😂😂
  • I looked into the sienna’s and the Honda odyssey’s! The odyssey is the only car on the market with tether’s in every seat. Also has a magic seat, so you can arrange the chairs to where you can basically take out the middle seat and have two of the bigger chairs side by side and give you a “walkway” to the third row.
    Super snazzy!

The sienna is super nice too, but the ones i kept driving in, felt like there was so much plastic. I loved the sliding doors and storage. My girlfriend has a 2012 sienna and it STILL drives like a champ. Toyota does hold their value pretty well! The newer ones seem to have been pretty updated. I love their drink holders and the long center console!
  • DH told me that his mom is planning to retire after the baby is born, I presume so we won’t have to pay for childcare. While I appreciate the gesture and don’t doubt her ability, I also know that she has lost a lot of vision in one eye, and that’s concerning to me if she’s watching a rolling, crawling, toddling child, especially since it’s mine.
  • The cats out of the bag and all my kids know! DD2 snooped on my phone, saw this site, and then "I had to check your search history to see if it was just a one time thing or not!" So she told her sister, who then asked me about it. DD1 is not amused. DD2 is thrilled and said, "When does your belly get big. Oh my gosh your belly IS big! How did I miss this?!" DS is very excited.

I also told my mom yesterday. She is not excited, but I knew she wouldn't be which is why I avoided telling her as long as I could. Oh well!
  • My husband is taking our kids to his brothers for a weekend of crabbing and salmon fishing and I am so ready to clean out their closet and also just sit on the couch and binge something. Anyone watching anything good?
  • @kmw611 I've been enjoying Only Murders in the Building and Physical!
  • @farm_mama Ugh, the unsupportive family really sucks. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. If my kid was old enough to read he definitely would have figured things out way earlier - I'm impressed you kept it from them for that long!

@k_sims Happy Anniversary and vow renewal! I hope it goes well! Thanks for the van feedback - we live 5 miles out a dirt road and get snow sometimes, so AWD is a must, which is what attracted me to the Sienna. I'm still not so sure about the clearance, but otherwise it seems like a great choice. I'm going back and forth between the Sienna and the Subaru Ascent. The Sienna is probably the better choice, but a little out of our price range.

@k_sims Happy anniversary/vow renewal!  I wanted to do that at our year 10, but I’ll be just about due then. Oh well, we’ll find something nice to do either then or after baby’s born.
  • Thank y’all! It was super sweet, simple, and special! 💓
@fininevermore plenty of time to do it!😊 This last year was probably our hardest year yet. So this was year 9, but we felt after everything it was perfect timing! We had initially wanted to do it at year 10 as well!
  • @hedgepig super late to this thread, but we have the Sienna and love it. We got the one with an option for 8 seats, and the 8th comes out and folds into a special pocket in the trunk. It's roomy and comfortable, has a lot of other great features, and is a joy to drive.

@k_sims my husband volunteers for a roadside assistance group (like AAA, but free) and is very into cars. He has me in the habit of telling all Odyssey drivers about the door. There is a known issue where one of the parts wears out and the sliding door stops working after 5-10 years. Apparently it's super cheap to fix if you catch it in time, but really expensive if you let it go.
  • Adding on to my above comment - I switched to maternity pants today and there is zero doubt about my bump now. I'm glad I am ready to tell people because everyone is like - what's going on there?
