Measuring Ahead Worries

  I’ve never had this experience (all my babies have been on the small side, with the one I’m currently pregnant with measuring 3 behind at less than the first percentile). I know measuring small is a concern, but I have no idea about measuring ahead. Sometimes it can be a sign of gestational diabetes, or you may just have a big baby. What did your doctor or midwife say about it? Are they concerned? I personally wouldn’t worry too much unless they tell you it’s a concern.

  I agree to try not to worry about it too much. 10 days ahead doesn't sounds like too much to me. My baby's head and abdomen were measuring like 13 days ahead when I was at 20 weeks and my midwife was not concerned at all. Babies go through different growth spurts and the ultrasound readings are just a snapshot in time. I think I read online that the measurements being ahead or behind within 2 weeks is not in itself a cause for concern.

  I measure about 2 weeks ahead every pregnancy and then at the end, I slow down and baby comes after their due date 💀. I don’t know why. I always get my hopes up that baby will be closer to the 38 weeks mark but no lol.

  I measured about 2 weeks ahead the whole pregnancy with my 4th. He was biggest babe by a good bit, but there was nothing wrong with him. He's still top of the charts at 2 years old lol. I would try not to worry!

  I always measured ahead but that was with twins so it makes sense. This one is a single and, as if a week and a half ago I was measuring a week ahead. Not worried at all. All my babies have been healthy. I just tend to start measuring ahead around this time.
