Upcoming appointments: just had routine ob checkup, next is the cardiologist for hypertension check on Thursday, and then I have another growth scan in about two weeks.
How are you feeling? Feeling better nausea wise, skipped the diclegis and still nauseous but not so bad! Heartburn is raging but pepcid is my Queen. Still tired and pushing through every day.
Raves/Rants: baby has been moving like crazy! I feel it a lot and my husband was able to feel it externally once too! The ob couldn't get a picture because the baby is very active, which I find inconvenient for the Dr, but very cute for me! Active babies are a good thing!
Questions: anybody sign up for childbirth classes? My sister is due any day and didn't sign up for classes and is going crazy from not knowing anything. I am impulsively signing up for a hypnobirthing course even though I'm not usually the suggestible type because I need to have some method of pain relief under my belt.
@chelleylin I've been wondering about childbirth classes too... We just ordered a bunch of books (What to Expect When You're Expecting, etc.) to try and have some prep knowledge, but not sure if a class would be worth it.
EDD/Weeks + days: 21w2d - 12/9
Baby is the size of a(n): My Little Pony
Team Green/Team Blue/Team Pink: 💗
Upcoming appointments: Regular check-up on 8/16 then glucose test 9/18.
How are you feeling? Heartburn has been raging and I have been very tired these past few days, but otherwise good. She has been moving around a bunch, which I love! Makes me feel at ease when I feel her moving around.
Raves/Rants: Heading to Nashville for a bachelorette party, so that should be a good time. They want to do pole dancing lessons...not sure how well that's gonna go with the bump, but I guess we'll see.
Questions: I put one in the questions thread this morning, but I'll add here too: thoughts, feelings, suggestions on bassinet sleeping in our bedroom vs. crib sleeping in the nursery?
Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan on august 10th. The wait is killing me!
How are you feeling? Hips still hurt while I’m sleeping but overall no complaints, feeling great!
Raves/Rants: nothing particular at the moment. Still trying to figure out how much maternity leave I want to take and childcare/nanny options
Questions: first time mom here! I know everybody is different but for those that have gone through it before - what was your policy for visitors after returning home from the hospital? Since my due date is Dec. 23rd, my in-laws wants to host Christmas at my house (which means we would have family traveling from different parts of CA and across country). It’s giving me a lot of anxiety and trying to figure out how to say no without people’s feelings being hurt.
Baby is the size of a hot dog. (as a side note, I have been craving hot dogs. It might be my first meal after baby is born lol)

Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan next week!!!
How are you feeling: Felt really good the past few days. So thankful for a reprieve from the nausea and vomiting.
Raves: Met the midwife at the new practice I'm switching to. I really liked her. Very calming. She has me scheduled with the Drs for the next few appointments so I can meet the people who will do my c-section.
I'm also STOKED because I got some more donor milk today! I can't breastfeed due to a double mastectomy, but a local gal has been donating to me ❤️. I was able to donate with my son, so it feels a little like coming full circle. I'm so thankful for my donor's kindness.
@dmcg17 With my son, we kept him in our room until about 7 months. It just made nursing so much easier! I had a pack n play with bassinet attachment, and he slept in that. I ended up ordering a mini-crib for this baby. It will sleep in our room until it's old enough for a toddler bed. We are short on bedrooms until our house is built 😬🫣.

How are you feeling? I’m feeling really good overall! I feel minor headaches sometimes and I feel my heart rate increasing from the blood flow. I’ve had more body aches and so I’ve been getting less sleep lately even with a sleep pillow.
Raves/Rants: I’ve been having bad anxiety lately about developing pre-eclampsia and other complications as I get closer to 20+ weeks. I’m trying to think positively, but it’s so scary because it’s completely out of your control.
Questions: Anyone else been having pregnancy anxiety? Any helpful strategies to cope?
@foreverhughes4123 I'm so sorry you are having anxiety. I have it too. Have you spoken to your obgyn about your fear? Mine actually suggested taking a baby aspirin at my last appointment to help prevent pre-eclampsia. My anxiety is such that now I'm terrified of developing it but also too anxious to take the baby aspirin in case it hurts the baby. I didn't have pre-eclampsia with my first pregnancy, so I'm going to talk to my doctor about it again next time. Really my only marker is being a bit older.
As for managing anxiety, I try to rest a lot, eat healthy, go on regular walks, and listen to pregnancy meditations.

@ahrob135 This is an issue I'm having as well. With my first I let people come whenever and deeply regretted it. But this is strongly dependent on your family. My ILs would take the baby into a different room for hours to have their "own" family time and only brought him back when he was crying hungry. For my second I didn't let them come for a month, which upset everyone. This time I'm going for a happy medium. Basically, go with your instincts. If you want family close, then great. If you'd rather adjust a bit on your own, tell them that. Newborns are boring anyway - your baby will be much more fun to visit next Christmas

Upcoming appointments: I just had the second half of my anatomy scan yesterday, which was with a specialist who had a high-tech machine. It was so nice to just watch baby moving around (and cuddling the placenta ) for 30 minutes. I even got a 4D picture
How are you feeling? Lots of baby movements! My bump has popped and I just started with some acid reflux, but nothing bad (yet).
Raves/Rants: I'm also having a lot of anxiety. I have an official PTSD diagnosis from my first birth and second pregnancy. I'm seeing a therapist, which helps. Otherwise I try to just keep busy and stay distracted. I'm also starting pregnancy yoga in September. Mothers are expected to be super heroes. Just remember, it's OK to not feel strong every day
@clt2pwm11Thank you so much for your suggestions! I am taking baby aspirin as well. My doctor had me start that at around 15 weeks. I haven’t tried pregnancy meditations yet, but I will give them a try!
@booksandicecream I start seeing my therapist next week. I’m hoping that will help! I have thought about giving pregnancy yoga a try. I love yoga and need something to keep me active.
I definitely have anxiety about pre-e. My doctors for the most part have been fueling the fire by repeatedly checking my blood pressure every appointment, which ends up being almost weekly. However, I recently started feeling more calm as my cardiologist is very on top of the issue and told me that I should leave the worrying to her, as worrying wouldn't help me. Somehow that makes me feel better.
I also speak to my therapist weekly, which is very helpful. I am taking the baby aspirin, but not sure how instrumental it can be for preventing pre-e
