Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Long time lurker, first time poster. Hubs and I met in grad school, and put off TTC for quite a while due to moving around a lot for work, fixed-term contracts, etc. We’re finally settled and feeling ready to start a family; it’s taking longer than we’d hoped, but we’re learning to take things day by day. In the meantime we keep ourselves busy doting on our two cats, a tortie with a whole lot of attitude and a goofy orange boi. In my free time I enjoy running, baking (tho it’s currently WAY to hot to be turning on the oven), knitting/crochet, and most recently I’ve rediscovered my love of reading fiction, especially romance novels. Recommendations welcome—I’ve just been grabbing whatever pops up on the library’s new fiction shelf!
I have a tortie as well! And a second cat that is a grey tabby. And I'm a long time crocheter and new knitter! And love reading as well! I love historical fiction. The Nightengale by Kristin Hannah was really good.
How are you liking knitting? Maybe it’s because I learned to knit first but I find crochet SO much more confusing/frustrating.
I’ve put a hold on the Nightingale, can’t wait to read! The summaries I looked at made me think of The Alice Network, which I read a few years ago now and really enjoyed. It’s also set in WWII France, and based on true stories of resistance and reprisals.
@maggiemadeit oh no! Public crying is so painfully embarrassing. I definitely was glad to read it in the privacy of my living room! Definitely a tear jerker at parts.
