  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 7/7w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): cheerio

Team blue/pink/green: We'll find out at NIPT

Upcoming Appointments: today! Pregnancy confirmation, no U/S

How are you feeling?: Nauseous, tired, nauseous and also tired

Rants/Raves: so excited for my appt today!

Questions: Anyone taking medication for nausea? Mine isn't super bad, but it is making it hard for me to function and is pretty much all the time.

GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you?
We didn't find out with our first, and loved it, then did find out with pur second and also loved it. We'll find out this time too, and will share with family/friends when we make a pregnancy announcement, but we don't do any kind of party/event/reveal.

Baby is the size of a(n): lentil

Team blue/pink/green: Team green for now, but I’m interested in enough tests that we’ll find out sooner than later

Upcoming Appointments: August 22, and can’t come fast enough!

How are you feeling? Nauseous, exhausted, why do my boobs have to hurt so much?

Rants/Raves: This pregnancy is so different from last time, and I feel like I’ve been saying that every day. Gah!

Questions: What herbal teas are safe? Our house stays cold and I love hot drinks in the morning but I’m trying to stay under the caffeine limit.
Also, is it as bad going from one to two as I’ve heard?

GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you?
I like being “prepared” so I want to find out the sex; as for telling others, I’m torn. My husband always says he doesn’t care; no help at all. So I’m debating. If I do, I’m not doing a reveal.

Baby is the size of a(n): keyboard key
Team blue/pink/green: will find out at the AS
Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow!! excited to confirm that there's just one, and the due date.
How are you feeling?: tired and nauseous
Rants/Raves: The nausea on this baby is worse this time around, than any but my first, and I am so over it.
    Questions: NATM
GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you? we will find out, but we won't tell anyone, we did that with all our kids, and it was so fun having that little secret.

@hedgepig I've never taken medication for nausea, so I can't be any help, but sorry to hear you're struggling, hope you find something to help soon.
@fininevermore going from 1 to 2 is definitely hard, but I think the trick is to know that's its hard, and that will set you up for success. When I was pregnant with #2 a family friend said to me, "I was in the Israeli army, and going from 1 to 2 kids was harder than that." At the time, I was like, WHY ARE YOU SAYING THAT?!?! but now, I'm glad she did, having that time to prepare for how hard it was going to be was helpful
  • @fininevermore I remember staying away from peppermint in tea, but other than that I think most herbal teas are fine?
Going from 0 to 1 was harder for us I think. 1 to 2 is hard in different ways - my best advice is to try to make sure you have alone time with the new baby so you can bond. How old is your older kiddo? I just remember feeling like I never got to love on my baby because I had to take care of a wild 2.5 yo, and it was covid so we couldn't really get any help with him.

@mrosek91 I like the idea of a secret too 😁

    ---

I had a good appt today - scheduled my blood draw for nipt, scheduled first midwife appt and will schedule dating u/s tomorrow 😊 And I picked up some B6 and Unisom for the nausea, so I'll try that tonight!

  • @hedgepig My son turned 7 last month. He’s actually old enough to help out some, once we tell him. I’m waiting till after my appt to tell him so I feel better and he can stop wondering why mommy keeps dozing off during Minecraft time, lol.  And let us all know about the medicine.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/25, 5 weeks today!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): apple seed

    Team blue/pink/green: green!

Upcoming Appointments: 8/8 for an early ultrasound :)

How are you feeling?: pretty good. A little iffy in the mornings, and extra tired. Still a little in disbelief - can’t wait for the first US!

Rants/Raves: packing for camping is exhausting - especially trying to coordinate meals and cooking with other families who keep bailing, unbailing, then maybe bailing again. Lol. I’ll be excited once we actually hit the road!

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you? We were team green all the way with the last two - will likely do the same again.
  • @fininevermore Oh, cool! He'll also be at school during the day then too? I bet it'll be quite a different experience than having multiple littles. Will he be excited to be a big brother?

@halfanewt Ugh, I hate when people can't make up their minds - like it doesn't impact everyone else 🙄

    ---

I forgot to add that since the doctor's office doesn't take into account the length of my cycles, they gave me an EDD of 3/9 instead of 3/7 🤷🏻‍♀️ We'll see if the dating U/S changes anything.

Baby is the size of a(n): piece of uncooked macaroni

Team blue/pink/green: we’ll find out, I’m putting my guess in at blue because I feel the same as my boys.

Upcoming Appointments: 8/2 to see the doc for my first apt with him. Hopefully scheduling another ultrasound and the NIPT then.

How are you feeling?: tired but good.

Rants/Raves: background for my rave- my boys have different dads, long story short DS1s biodad bailed 3.5 seconds after BFP. He has never really bothered to be involved, we haven’t heard from him in over 2 years or seen him since before the pandemic even though he lives less than 20 minutes away🙄. His loss, my son is awesome. His parents however are both amazing and quickly realized they needed to form their own relationship. My kids call that grandma Arizona grandma and she has been badgering me for our homeschool book list for this year. I finally got it to her and within an hour she shipped every single book on the list. They just started arriving yesterday and it was like Christmas. Pretty excited to start pre reading them

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you? I found out at the anatomy scan with both the boys and will find out with this next one as well, hopefully earlier. I’ve never done a big reveal though, just shared the news.

@fininevermore I didn’t think going from 1-2 was terrible but I had a 3 year gap and DS1 was in preschool until the 2020 shutdown so that helped at the very beginning. I’m nervous about 2-3 though, I’ve heard being outnumbered is rough but I have a big gap again so I think that will help.

@halfanewt that’s so frustrating! How disrespectful to you for them to waffle that way like that doesn’t affect your planning. I hope you have a great time though!

  • @hedgepig Yeah, he’ll be at school. Starting second grade this year! 😱 Where does the time go? He’s been asking since my youngest niece was born (she’s 4) if he could get a younger sibling, so he’ll be over the moon to find out it’s happening.  He wants a little brother AND sister. I told him before I got pregnant that wasn’t happening, lol.

@kmw611 I’m glad for the age gap, I wouldn’t be able to handle two little kids. If it’s a boy I’ll be even more outnumbered than I am already. 😊

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 7+3

    FTM/STM/TTM+:  FTM 🥰

Baby is the size of a(n): 🫐

    Team blue/pink/green: 🎀 (I hope🤞🏽)

Upcoming Appointments: Today! Second ultrasound. The first way done at 6+3 to confirm implantation placement so that I could get a script for progesterone (previous MCs and a cervical ectopic).

How are you feeling?: My boobs are wildly sore, back aches, and I’m sleepy all the time. No nausea or anything like that. I can also smell everything within a 10 mile radius.

Rants/Raves: I’ve been meditating a lot over the past couple of weeks to help me stay in the present moment, which has made this pregnancy feel very different from previous pregnancies. I used to obsess and google everything, but now I’ve chilled on that, taking each day as it comes.

I’m in Thailand alone for work. My husband came to visit for a couple for weeks and we were not expecting to get pregnant! He’s back home now and I miss him a lot. Despite the situation, I’m over the moon and super grateful. I do feel alone sometimes, so this community helps. I’m trying to meet other women here in Thailand for support… slowly, but surely.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you? I would like to, but will likely keep it to myself.

Thank you, @hedgepig for starting this and many of the other threads in this group. 💖

@kmw611 I’m sorry biodad1 decided to not be part of such a beautiful relationship. I’m happy for you and your son that Arizona grandma is so thoughtful, though.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8 weeks today! March 7th

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

    Team blue/pink/green: green!

Upcoming Appointments: Aug 14th for labs and Aug 23rd with the midwife.

How are you feeling?: ugh. Between getting our first ready to start kindergarten next week, keeping up with the toddler and work and trying to not 🤮 every few mins- im exhausted. Have been lurking and reading everything on here but just have had zero time to participate.

Rants/Raves: Rave for my stay at home hubby for keeping the house afloat. Idk how he does it.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you? We really want to wait until birth this time🤞🏼 idk if i have the willpower though! We found out at 22 weeks with our first and did a reveal party, found out privately at an elective ultrasound at 15 weeks with our 2nd, so this would be new territory!

Baby is the size of a(n): Raspberry
    Team blue/pink/green: ?
Upcoming Appointments: Nothing official on the books, but I've seen my midwife twice already.
How are you feeling?: Soooooooo exhausted
Rants/Raves: I just don't remember it being this hard before! 🤣 Maybe it is because I am older? Maybe I just don't remember? Certainly it is because I have three children. But oh my goodness this is challenging!
GTKY: Do you plan to find out the sex of the baby? If so, do you plan a reveal or anything? How will you tell? Or will you?
I love the idea of team green, but I think my practical side will override my romantic side and I will find out. We won't do anything big we will probably just let people know.
