  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 7th / 6w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): pomegranate seed

Team blue/pink/green: We'll find out with thr NIPT

    Upcoming Appointments: 7/24

How are you feeling?: Nauseous, food aversion, bloated. The nausea blessedly let up while I was camping, but is back now.

    Rants/Raves: It's really hot 🥵

Questions: Older moms - if you've already gone through an AMA pregnancy, what was different about your care?

GTKY: When do you plan to tell friends/family? How do you plan to tell them? We'll wait until around the end of the trimester, after the NIPT results come in. As it's our third, I'm a little worried that people may not be very excited for us 😅 I'm still thinking about how to announce, but maybe a Big Sister shirt for DD?

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 7th, 6+4

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): lentil, pea, pomegranate seed

    Team blue/pink/green: GREEN

Upcoming Appointments: Wed the 19th for pregnancy confirmation.

How are you feeling?: less anxious than over the weekend- see my post in the threatened mc thread. Even though the timing of this pregnancy was a complete surprise, I have become so attached ❤️ I think PGAL always creates some complicated feelings of whether or not to invest your heart in the beginning knowing what has happened before.

Rants/Raves: Rave for my wonderful husband picking up all the slack around the house and making sure the toilet is cleaned every day so when I get sick it isn’t gross in there.

Questions: What cars are people fitting all their kids in? I feel like we’re going to have to go the minivan route. We have an old crv and a tiny civic right now.

GTKY: When do you plan to tell friends/family? How do you plan to tell them? Well, on kid 3 we already told everyone. Just called them up and told them. Some people we texted. It’s really not like us to tell everyone this early. Last time we waited until 15 weeks after we had an early sex determining ultrasound. Idk why we both felt like letting everyone in.
  • @night_nurse We have a Subaru Forester and don't really have the resources to upgrade at the moment, so we'll squeeze into that! We have 2 Diono Radians, and I'm planning on getting the Graco Slimfit3LX for the baby. We live 5 miles out a dirt road and get winter snow, so while I would totally be team minivan, I don't think it would work for us. When we can, we'll probably upgrade to a new Subaru, but MH also will need a new truck soon, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/4
    FTM/STM/TTM+: 5tm
Baby is the size of a(n): coffee bean
Team blue/pink/green: will find out at the AS
Upcoming Appointments: July 25th, for dating ultrasound, and new pregnancy intake
How are you feeling?: good, tired and nauseous, but that's just life now.
Rants/Raves: DS2 (5yo) regularly has to be woken up for school, so why is he awake at 6am every day of camp?!
Questions: Any one here successfully do a VBAC, or hoping to do one. It's weird that as a 5tm I still have areas that are so new to me. I had an appointment before coming off BC to confirm with my doctor that I'm a good candidate, for it, but it feels more real now, and wondering what questions I should be asking at the first appointment.
GTKY: When do you plan to tell friends/family? How do you plan to tell them? As mentioned on the randoms I already told my best friend, and my parents, will tell everyone else sometime after we hit 12 weeks. My problem, is that I want everyone to know, but I never know how to tell them. Most of my friends and my siblings I talk to every week, I'll probably find some way to slip it into the conversation. Work is going to be the hardest, I hit 12 weeks when I'm on vacation, so I'll probably schedule a meeting with my two bosses to tell me when I get back. I work in a different state than them, so it will have to be a teams call.

    DD / Weeks + Days: 6w2d March 9

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Team blue/pink/green: I’ll find out with the NIPT. I’ve never bothered with that test before but I’m extra anxious this time and want all the info I can have upfront

    Upcoming Appointments: ultrasound tomorrow afternoon

How are you feeling?: starving. I’m coming off a 3 day migraine so I slept through a large portion of the weekend and didn’t have much of an appetite. Glad it was the weekend so my husband was home to entertain the minions while I hibernated.

Rants/Raves: limited medication options when pregnant suck. I can’t remember what I can take if anything other than Tylenol, looking forward to seeing my OB for a list.

    Questions:

GTKY: When do you plan to tell friends/family? How do you plan to tell them? Would it be crazy to just not tell them? With my sons we shared early and everyone is always thrilled so that’s not a problem but after the losses and having to then go back and tell everyone we miscarried, that sucked. My best friend knows obv, I texted her immediately after my husband but we are in a rare gap in niece/nephew birthdays until early September and then another gap until end of October so potentially hideable size still especially with the crappy weather coming and oversized fall sweaters. I’ll wait until at least after the first trimester.

Baby is the size of a(n): Super smol

    Team blue/pink/green: Don’t know yet!

Upcoming Appointments: Another beta test tomorrow

How are you feeling?: Doing okay! Some mild cramps and my low back is sore

Rants/Raves: Rant that progesterone is messy! I have to keep taking it until 10 weeks

    Questions: None at the moment

GTKY: When do you plan to tell friends/family? How do you plan to tell them? A lot of our immediate family already know because we told them we were doing IVF. At the end of the trimester, I will probably do something cute involving putting big brother shirts on the dogs.

@hedgepig hopefully everyone is just as excited for #3 as they have been for your other pregnancies❤️

@night_nurse we went large SUV instead of a minivan because we’re about 30 minutes to the nearest town and can get a decent amount of snow. I have a Yukon XL and an Elantra but idk if 3 across will work in the Elantra.

@mrosek91 I’m also hopeful to vbac this time. My ob is supportive of the idea but I wanted a hbac with DS2 and still a little bit want that homebirth. I’m thinking about at least talking to a local midwife about that option but being farther from town and an hour to any of the area hospitals makes me more hesitant than with DS2. We have a C-section/vbac support group online for my area so I asked there for dr recommendations before choosing my OB. I would ask the dr about their success rates vs C-section rates, what their thoughts on going to term/induction are. My boys were born at 41&1 and 39&5 so induction by 39 weeks (which I read is common) is a hard no for me. I was put on Pitocin with my first and it was the absolute worst.
  • @hedgepig everyone in our life was just as excited to find out about baby #3 as they were for the others. Hoping the same for you!

@mrosek91 no VBAC experience but hoping your provider is incredibly supportive!

@kmw611 i dont think it is weird at all to wait. After our mc, with our daughter’s pregnancy we didnt tell family and friends until 15-18weeks. Didnt tell work until 20weeks. Just hid behind big scrubs. People were shocked lol. We also never announced on social media, just some pics once she was here. As you can see we went the total opposite route this time 🤷🏼‍♀️ i think whatever you feel comfortable with is what you should do ❤️

@tangiblycool all the fingers crossed for tomorrow’s beta 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
  • @night_nurse Thinking of you - I hope your appt goes great today!
@tangiblycool 🤞🤞🤞 for good betas today!

Baby is the size of a(n): Sweet Pea / ”as tall as a Reese's peanut butter cup (what??)

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: 1st everything appt 1 August

How are you feeling?: Constantly exhausted, worried about lessening symptoms

Rants/Raves: I'm so very excited for this baby! At 38 I'd thought I'd pretty much lost my chance, but I'm also trying to be VERY cautious and not tell anyone until at least after getting results for my 1st appointment. I had to tell a couple people early on for help and advice with appointment making and such. But now it feels like EVERYONE suspects and suddenly I'm constantly being offered alcohol or asked for big labor intensive favors and the people who do know constantly almost-telling the people I KNOW will blow it up on FB way before I'm ready to announce it (though I very much DO NOT want to announce it on social media ever). And now my MiL is asking for private one-on-one time and just gave us the title to a 4-door car (I currently have a 2-door hatchback) and I'm really starting to have the feeling that I'm not gonna have a say in when it gets announced.

Questions: How have any of you moms dealt with other people announcing your pregnancy for you?
  • @night_nurse when we were expecting #2 we got a Toyota highlander (SUV), and have been very happy with it, we were able to fit 2 and even 3 kids pretty comfortably. We even continued to use it for about a year after #4 came, it was a bit of a squish, and we needed a roof rack for long trips but we made it work.
Now we have a Toyota Sienna (minivan) and I'm in love with it.
(I will mention that before the Sienna our second car was a Nissan Cube, and I was able to fit three kids in there, with a booster and two carseats. Not something I liked doing, but was possible in a pinch, so smaller cars will fit more than you expect.)

@mynameisoverused that sounds do nerve-wracking. I'm sorry you're not able to just relax and enjoy this time when most people don't know. I've never been in that situation, so I can't offer any advice, just crossing my fingers for you.
  • kmw611kmw611 member
@mynameisoverused I would be so angry if someone else announced for me. I hope everyone backs off and let’s you come out with the news in your own time.
  • @mrosek91 i have been looking at highlanders, like some of their features better than the honda pilot. Am thinking we’ll be on the lookout for either a used highlander, sienna or honda odyssey when the time comes
  • I seem to have missed all this last week!

@mrosek91 I've had two VBACs one in hospital and one at home. I am happy to share if you have questions.
