Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: An ear of corn maybe? Big enough that their movement can sometimes be felt on the outside now.
Upcoming appointments: This Wednesday. Fingers crossed that we can get my C-section scheduled as my OB said it's a possibility to do this early.
How are you feeling?: Huge.
Rants / Raves: Our van's engine blew last week so we've been down to one car. It's not terrible since I work from home. But then my SUV started to have issues with a misfire. DH fixed what he thought it was but it didn't fully fix the problem and he doesn't have the additional tools to do the job. So that car now has to be taken in to be fixed.
On the plus side, we purchased a new (to us) vehicle this weekend. Crossing my fingers that the fix to the SUV doesn't cost an arm and a leg since it feels like we're bleeding money anymore.
Questions: Anyone else getting colostrum in? With the other 4 I didn't get anything in until after I had them. My boobs are working overtime at this point. They're gigantic and I've gotten some colostrum in. Just very surprised.
GTKY: What is on your bucket list?: Travel to Greece, take DH and the kids back to see where I was born, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, New Years Eve in NYC and 4th of July in D.C.
Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: November 26th 21+1
FTM/STM/STM+: 4TM
Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Surprise
Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: Weasel/Baby Bok Choy
Upcoming appointments: 2 appointments this week
How are you feeling? Overall, I feel good, just wearing out easier than usual these days. My sister brought a mutant virus with her last week to my work conference (she wrangled the boys while I worked), and I can feel myself coming down with it. So far, lots of drainage, losing my voice, and a low-grade fever.
Rants / Raves: Raves: DS3 is walking! He's 17.5 months old, and he was taking a few steps here and there for the last few weeks, but he's legitimately walking now. He's been in weekly PT for most of his life, and I am so ready for him to graduate. I scheduled appointments out until the end of August, but fingers crossed we don't need all of them. Rants: I'm sick, and it sucks. My sister keeps complaining about how badly she feels, and she does tend to get sicker than me, but at least she can drug herself. She's over there all slathered in Vick's vapor rub, alternating between DayQuil and NightQuil and other drugs, and I'm over here with my allergy meds and Tylenol lol.
Questions: I had a question but forgot what it was.
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? I made a list of places/activities I want to do one day. These include going to the Tulip Festival in Michigan, NYC at Christmas time to see the tree/Christmas decorations, visiting Flathead Lake in Montana, etc.
@UnwritteN12 I hope your SUV is an easy (and inexpensive) fix, and congratulations on your new vehicle! I hear you on money, I swear when 1 thing breaks, everything likes to follow. I've never collected colostrum prior to birth, but I know a few people who have. I always thought it would be something good to do, but I've never produced anything until after birth.
Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: a coconut
Upcoming appointments: mfm on Thursday
How are you feeling? Mentally my anxiety went a bit crazy this weekend, not sure why and not thrilled about it. Also this Texas heat is kicking my butt. Just so tired and irritable
Rants / Raves: Rant: anyone else watching is it cake, too? Without any spoilers, the 2nd elimination has me SO heated!! Like the whole premise is so unfair! I know it’s a silly reality show, but ugh, NOT cool, I wanted to see what else that person could do and some not great ones made it through on technicalities.
Rant/rave: just finished Emily Henry’s Happy Place and really enjoyed it, but now in that let down period of finishing a book that really took you somewhere else and feeling like ugh I want to go back but not ready to start something new
Questions: none
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? Skydiving!
@UnwritteN12 Greece is top of my travel bucket list! Also one year when I was a preteen my parents took us to NYC for NYE, which was very much my dream, and I came down with the flu the morning of and we all stayed in the apartment and watched it on tv. I’m still salty about it, but also now look at the crowds and think “nah, not for me”. Hope the suv issues are minor. No colostrum here yet, but my boobs are also so much bigger than last times, I’m hoping it doesn’t start soon. I don’t plan to breastfeed so I’m not interested in it starting any earlier!
@makingbacon being sick while pregnant SUCKS!! Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: due 11/11, 23w 3d
FTM/STM/STM+: 3rd baby
Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: sweet baby boy 🩵
Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: from what the bump said when I opened the app, he’s as tall as a Barbie… lol interesting.
Upcoming appointments: I have my first prenatal doula appt on Thursday (so excited about it!) and my 24 week appt next Tuesday the 25th.
How are you feeling? Most days I don’t even feel pregnant, except for the wobble I’m starting to get and the occasional sciatic nerve pain.
Rants / Raves: none
Questions: none
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? I would love to travel across the US from east coast to west, and stop at all the national parks along the way one day.
@UnwritteN12 as far as I know, no colostrum yet.. but it’s funny you mentioned it because I just told my husband last night to be careful during sexy time moving forward, because it may be coming soon and he may get a little surprise haha
@shinyobjects I hope your anxiety eases soon. That is the worst luck to have the flu the day of NYE! Ugh, I would've been so disappointed too. DH would love to go skydiving - I'll be the one on the ground waiting for him lol. @ashsowers2020 Seeing all the national parks sounds like so much fun! I swear I feel the most pregnant when I bend down. I still need to remember to squat versus bend, and it's been interesting when I forget.
@ashsowers2020 Seeing all the national parks sounds like so much fun! I swear I feel the most pregnant when I bend down. I still need to remember to squat versus bend, and it's been interesting when I forget.
Yes! Me too haha I am very audible when I bend or even squat (when I remember to 😬) to pick something up and my husband thinks it’s hilarious. If only he could feel what we do 😂
I’m okay ish. Having a lot of trouble with either blood sugar or blood pressure dropping. Not quite sure which. But I can’t take my kids grocery shopping alone anymore since I’ve almost passed out with them a few times now 🫠. Also, I’ve developed ptsd symptoms from my experience with my last child. That was quite surprising and alarming. I’ve been put on some medication to help with that and I think it’s helping.
Rants / Raves:
Rant: it’s so hot outside 😅. Normally the heat doesn’t bother me and I just embrace it. But pregnant me cannot hang lol
Rave: my mom is getting in tonight for a visit. That’ll be really nice to see her.
@Kiek ooh! I have to steal yours and add that to mine! I also want a milk cow, as well as some chickens… and a fainting goat just for the fun of it. I would love to have our own farmhouse built for us, with tons of land for my vegetable garden and free range chickens.
Estimated Due Date / Weeks + Days: 21 weeks on Wednesday, EDD 11/29
FTM/STM/STM+: STM +1 stepdaughter
Team Boy/Girl/Surprise: Boy!
Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: an endive
Upcoming appointments: 8/11 - ultrasound and OB
How are you feeling? Finally feeling pretty good physically, just tired still. A bit frustrated and feeling discouraged with the GD and everything else…but it’ll all be worth it in November!
Rants / Raves:
Rant & Rave: We just had our family vacation this summer to Wisconsin. We’re bummed that it’s over. But, I got to meet my future sister in law, brother in law and nephew. We flew out early on Wednesday and just got back super early Tuesday morning - almost 1am. Our kids have struggled to get along for the past year, but they did SO well on this trip. Dad and I were pleasantly surprised. My 8 yo son was so receptive to his new family and warmed right up. It was so nice to see. We traveled around Wisconsin to a few different cities and did a lot of fun stuff. But, now we’ve only got LO to look forward to this year!
Questions: Any mommas with AMA and GD in their prior pregnancies go full term? Or, were you induced? If you were induced, we’re you given the option of a CS or just medication induction?
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? We want to travel as much as we can even after LO arrives. Especially after our family trip to Wisconsin. We’re blessed to have my SIL/BIL/Nephew in Wisconsin & my brother/SIL/2 nephews in Vermont. Planning on an amazing wedding and honeymoon (waiting on my SO to propose). We talked about Hawaii for the honeymoon within 6 months of the wedding but planning a family mini-moon before that.
@ashsowers2020 I keep waiting for the boys to start imitating me when I bend down. They did it when I was pregnant with DS3, and thought it was hilarious lol.
@Kiek I’m so sorry you’re having the blood sugar and PTSD problems. Those alone would be hard, but way harder when combined. How long is your mom staying? @medicmomma6115 I was AMA with DS3 and was induced at 39 weeks. I didn’t have c-sections with DS1 or DS2, so it was never offered. 2 years later, I have a new doctor who isn’t concerned about me being AMA, and the plan right now is to not be induced. Induction went really smoothly (10 hours start to finish), but I’d prefer to go on my own if it’s an option. @ohsmith A date night sounds fantastic! We also don’t get many date nights, and I’ve been trying to talk DH into a weekend away for our anniversary this fall.
Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: banana
Upcoming appointments: 8/8 for a follow up anatomy scan at MFM (couldn’t get all the shots the first time) then 8/9 for regular OB appt
How are you feeling? Good! Recently moved and getting annoyed at how much work there is still left to do, but it’s impossible to get stuff done with a toddler around with no childcare and also working FT!
Rants / Raves: we leave on Saturday to start a 2-week trip to FL and Puerto Rico. Both locations are to visit in-laws, but it should be fun! But don’t ask me if I’ve even packed a single thing yet 😂
Questions: n/a
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? I really want to travel more places. We went to Spain a few years ago and we’re going to Germany next summer. Bucket list places would be NZ, Australia, or Hawaii. I’ll probably never convince my husband to do those flights, he’s afraid of flying and Europe is his max limit for flights 😝 I also want to go to all 50 states!
@fitandnerdy I have a goal of visiting all 50 states too!! I'd actually rather do that than international travel. @shinyobjects my 1st grader is very into that show lol. We haven't watched any new ones though! @UnwritteN12 I just stopped breastfeeding my 2 year old a few weeks ago. He weaned on his own due to it being colostrum now instead of the milk he was used to. I've been breastfeeding for 7 years straight so this 4 month "break" is so weird lol but being pregnant idk if its really a break 😆 anyway I think my milk transitioned to colostrum around 20 weeks each time other than the first.
Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: a water bottle
Upcoming appointments: regular OB and MFM in two weeks
How are you feeling? Just feeling large!
Rants / Raves: our vacation is coming up next week and we're all excited!
Questions: none
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? We'd love to visit all 50 states and also go to a bunch of college football stadiums. I also have a dream of seeing the Olympics in person!

Upcoming appointments: Next prenatal group visit is Aug. 2nd
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Most days I've been feeling super human and like a rockstar, but others I feel very drained and just off. In the afternoons and evenings I'm pretty uncomfortable and it's only to get worse. I'm trying to stay active as long as possible. Still going to the gym regularly. Definitely slowing down, but I try to remind myself that at least I'm moving and prepping my body for birth and postpartum life.
Rants / Raves: It's way too hot for me. I don't like it.
GTKY: What is on your bucket list? Travel more! I'd love to live abroad for a couple of years, but I'm not sure I can convince my husband.
The one that made me smile this week was “Baby is the size of a prairie dog”
Upcoming appointments:
I have a biophysical profile ultrasound and follow up from my weekend hospital stay tomorrow (Monday). I was supposed to do the glucose challenge but since I just got my course of steroid shots to help baby’s lungs develop faster (early delivery eminent— absent flow is back, more on that later) it has to be pushed out another week because the steroids can wreak havoc on blood sugar levels.
How are you feeling?
Overwhelmed
Rants / Raves:
This pregnancy has been an emotional roller coaster for me. I called the nurse line at the MFM office on Friday because I was having some bright red spotting (not heavy, only when I wiped and I hadn’t felt fetal movement all morning. I was advised to go to L&D to get baby on the monitor and check on her. She was being sleepy/sluggish, and they discovered that the absent flow is back. Thankfully, it seems to be in only one umbilical artery, the other is forward flow. They decided to admit me for continuous monitoring and to do the course of betamethasone steroid shots to help her lung development because they anticipate we’ll have to deliver early. They did let me go home on Saturday after my second steroid shot because her heart rate had mostly remained stable in the 130’s with only a couple of decels overnight that went back to normal fairly quickly, and her activity picked up tremendously after the shot. I have a MFM follow up tomorrow for biophysical profile and they said I’ll be coming in at least once a week now to closely monitor her.
Questions:
So many, but not that comes directly to mind at the moment.
GTKY: What is on your bucket list?
I’ve always wanted to do the Great American Road Trip across country
@chrisdee - I can’t even imagine. You are handling all of this like a champ tho and im praying for you so hard!!! Keep on hangin in there and being awesome momma!
@chrissdee I've been thinking of you. So sorry to hear the problem is back. I'm glad you have a good medical team to advise you and help baby as much as possible. ❤️❤️
@chrissdee oh no! So sorry to hear about that!! Praying for your sweet babe to hang on a little while longer and for you as well ♥️♥️ please keep us posted.
