I see in the intros that we have quite a few people with losses in their histories - anyone interested in a PGAL check in? What about a high risk or geriatric pregnancy check in?

TB seems to be getting quieter and quieter, my A19 group was always busy and we moved to FB with ~40 people. My M21 was slower and we were only about ~20 who made the move. I don't know why, but the TB is just not popular anymore.
Not a lot going on for me here. I had last week off (my firm shuts down for the whole week July 4th and Thanksgiving, which is amazing) so now I need to get back into the rhythm, and remember how to work through the first trimester fog.
@hedgepig it used to be way more popular with my others.
I’m no longer on Social media, so it’s (TB) my new go to place to relate and hear from others on the same track as me.
I think everyone is doing FB groups now. Which i did love my last one, twins/multiples page. We even all made plans to meet up for an in person meet in Nashville at the babies’ year bday. And did holiday secret Santa all the time. Still really close with some of the women there. My virtual besties.
This week my older two have Jewels for Jesus at church, so i have 9-12 free this week! 🤪 I have prayer night tonight at church, Tomorrow and Thursday my girls have gymnastics. Wednesday we have church and then Friday is my DD seventh bday. My husband works nights this whole week, so we won’t really see him. Single momming it! I need to make a grocery order and gain some energy to actually have the desire to cook the food. 😂 may take my kids to the pool this week to get out some of their energy. Who knows!
Only got my MiL's birthday dinner during the week. Otherwise I'm probably gonna spend the week knitting or trying to figure out how to video edit a digital drawing time lapse.
Whatever I end up doing I'm gonna try to keep it pretty low energy since this weekend is gonna sap ALL my energy
@mrosek91 Right? I was in Apr18 and Nov20 and those were both huge. I was sort of thinking of inviting the active posters in Feb24 to migrate over here in the hopes that we might end up with a more active group.
@hedgepig I'm doing a D&D session with friends Saturday, which we do online over Discord so not too draining. But Sunday!! We're going to the Renaissance faire all day with my bro and his family as a belated birthday thing for me, and I fully expect that to wipe me out lol! Hopefully well worth it
@hedgepig There's one that opens from the summer about an hour north of me. Don't get to go all the time, but definitely a fun occasional treat! Just hoping it won't be too rough for baby or me.
I do miss swimming in the river though! It was so much fun doing that as a kid, good times!
@mynameisoverused that sounds like fun!! do you normally drink at events like that? Only asking bc I’m wondering if that would be a give away to your fam If you’re not. Is this pregnancy still hush hush for now or have you told others? 😊 happy belated bday!!
@k_sims There are plenty of drinking opportunities yeah, and I usually love getting a bit of meade. Obviously gonna pass this time. My brother and his family already know since I needed their advice on some things and they already have a kid. Otherwise yeah I'm still keeping it hush hush until I see how the 10 week / first prenatal appointment goes.
Been taking the kids to the pool every day which is just exhausting but they love it ❤️ work friday and saturday and FX for slow days (prob just jinxed myself)
Had an amazing consultation appt with a home birth midwife yesterday who I absolutely loved. We instantly clicked. She has attended thousands of births as a birth worker and over 250 as a midwife. So much wisdom and knowledge. We hired her! This will be our first home birth.
And @hedgepig and @k_sims i agree that TB has really slowed down. My Feb18 group was so busy I could barely keep up. Over 40 of us moved to Fb and we still keep up Mar22 was pretty busy too and still going on Fb
@night_nurse that sounds amazing! I'm so glad you were able to find someone to click with. I need to line up my doula, (the same one I've used for all my births) but MH is really paranoid about the 12 week thing. He thinks that if we tell anyone we open the baby up an Ayin Hara (the Jewish version of an evil eye). So I am trying to be patient, I know she won't book up this early, it's just so much about this is going to be unknown, I want to pin down what I can. Less than 6 weeks until I can contact her.
Anyone interested in starting a homebirth/unmedicated birth thread?
@mrosek91 I don't homebirth, as we are 90 minutes from the hospital, but both of my others were unmedicated births and I love to talk about it! I am down for a thread 😊

@night_nurse Yes! I already thought of that! My last pregnancy I was induced due to high blood pressure, and this time around that could be a leap baby!

@mrosek91 love that idea! I’m trying to decide if I want to try for a hba2c or hospital Vba2c. I moved after my second son was born and the midwife I attempted to hbac with at the time doesn’t serve my area now so I have to find a new one or stick with the OB we saw for the recurrent losses who I like.
@night_nurse ohh I didn’t realize that! I have several friends and an uncle who are leap babies. That’d be kinda neat.
@hedgepig TB used to be booming back in 2015-2017, at least in the TTGP board. I can’t remember exactly why but wasn’t there like a mass exodus and a whole bunch of users left?
I was also curious to see BumpAdmin (I don’t want to tag them lol) hasn’t logged on since February. So who is deleting/closing threads and still banning people? Admins incognito? 🤔
edit: spoke too soon, looks like they logged in yesterday, but still, they were absent when people were still getting banned or threads being closed…hmmm
I wanted one so badly my last pregnancy then found out i was having twins. (No MW in our area would deliver multiples at the birthing centers or at home)
I had to be induced at 38.1 bc they wouldn’t come and they said term for my twins was 36 and
****TW****
they said if i went to 39 or further, the stillbirth rate increases a ton. I had an unmedicated (besides small amount of pit for induction) birth. the other issue i couldn’t do homebirth, is no midwife would deliver breech and i had a breech baby. My OB did though! The twins were my easiest birth! And that feeling after being able to do everything, get up, not feel drowsy, etc is amazing. Waiting to see what’s going on with this pregnancy, (amount of babies wise 😂😂 praying for one) but it’ll be unmedicated as well! 😊
all about natural / homeopathic / holistic stuff here. The twins pregnancy really made me dig to advocate for all of the things. And i learned so so much.
@tangiblycool I joined here in early 2017 I think and the big exodus had just happened I think? But even after that it was poppin in TTGP and the BMBs. I was sort of wondering if another exodus happened in the past few years, or if the boards just... slowed on their own? I wonder where everyone went? BumpAdmin is stickying our threads when we tag them, but it also took forever for them to put this board up, so 🤷🏻♀️
@k_sims Amazing that your OB delived a breech baby for you! 👏👏👏 I hope you are able to get the delivery you want this time around (and that there's only one baby in there!)

@hedgepig haha thank you!! Yes she was amazing, she delivered my other two as well, but there’s not a ton of craziness when you have an easy pregnancy and one baby. 😆 she was still great with them, but way different my third go. Haha!!
She kept telling me how proud she was of me and how her paperwork took longer than my delivery. She was so kind all the way through. She retired after my twins were born and i have now been through 2 other ob’s. One retired shortly after i chose him and now this new one I’ll meet in august and see if i like him. His nurse is my first OB’s nurse though, so i trust her judgment to at least see.
And thank you!! They told me my chances of multiples quadruples after having a fraternal set. So I’m like okkk, but maybe there’s just one. Hahah! We’ll be double blessed, but for our house and financials… praying it’s one. Six kids sounds a little much, but honestly anything after three all feels the same. My nephews and niece are constantly at our house so we’re like eh, whatever, it is what it is. Haha!!
@k_sims - I am also pregnant with #5! Just found out on Monday and am both excited and a little overwhelmed. I am currently staying with my in-laws (with my children), while DH works back at home. I haven’t announced to him yet. Wanted to wait til I see him in person in 6 days… Have zero ideas on how to announce though!
I took the kiddos to my big family camping trip yesterday by myself (DH had to work), and it's exhausting. Luckily I haven't been feeling too bad, but it is hard to hide the fact that I'm not drinking. We're staying tonight too, and I am counting the minutes til we get to come home 😴 I can't wait to sleep in my own bed.

Maybe you can share with the bartender and to make some virgin drinks to “trick” others? I did this once at my husbands work Christmas party she went above and beyond haha!!
I don’t know if we’re supposed to start a new thread for a new week but I’m just going to toss this here anyways.
I’m excited to be a part of this group and to see a good mixture of experienced moms, first timers (like me) and geriatrics (also me). I’m an over-thinker and having a little bit of validation from chats like this help a lot! I’m excited to get to know all of you better over the coming months.
@jarethinafrock I’m also planning how to tell the dad. (Is DH dad/husband?) We live about an hour apart so I don’t see him every day and his next day off that we will see each other is Friday (7/21). I’m anxiously waiting! I will say it’s nice to have some time to process before telling him though. I’m thinking of wrapping up a little box with a onesie, new dad book, a positive test and a few other little things. Possible sayings for the onesie:
Surprise! Plot twist Hello Daddy Sh** Just Got Real (wouldn’t put it on baby obv but would be kinda funny considering we’ve only been dating a little over two months) Guess What?! How does Daddy sound? Hello daddy, mommy says you’re amazing and you’re going to be the best dad. I can’t wait to meet you! The best things in life are unexpected Best gift ever!
I need help picking! I have a cricut so planning to just make it myself. I bought some plain white onesies at Target yesterday and it felt so weird to be shopping in the baby aisle for myself finally!
I just called this morning and scheduled my first OB appointment on 8/7 so I think I want to wait to tell anyone else until after that appointment or maybe even waiting for 12 wk ultrasound. Any advice? With being geriatric I want to be careful about when we tell people but it’s also difficult to keep from family. I did tell my best friend who lives close to me but I needed the moral support since I can’t tell dad yet. Haha.
Sorry for the long post… can you tell I’m a bit nervous?! Haha.
@emily_313 i like either surprise! or hello daddy. Do you have any feeling of how he’ll react?! We got pregnant with our first after only being together 4 months. Now we’re married and on baby 3 lol. I only wish I had worried less about what other people thought and not felt the need to over-explain our situation.
@emily_313 Hey! You are always welcome to start a new thread - I just started this week's threads, but I'm on the west coast, so I'm always a bit late.
Good luck telling your partner! (DH is Dear Husband, you'll also see DD/DS for Dear Daughter and Dear Son). I love those ideas for what to put on the onesie. Do you think he'll be happy, or more freaked out? I like "Sh*t Just Got Real", but I also like the message in "Hello daddy...." It's long for a onesie, but a really sweet message for a card. I also like "Plot Twist". I can't wait to hear what you decide and how it goes!

@emily_313 as you'll see from what I just posted in this weeks Randoms I also have a hard time keeping a secret, but I think waiting until at least the first appointment is a great idea (although not one I followed. )
@hedgepig and @mrosek91 thank you for helping a newbie navigate the site!
@night_nurse I think he’s going to be a little of both! He tends to have big reactions to things when he’s excited so I feel like that’s going to be the initial followed by everything else sinking in and becoming overwhelmed. The good news is, we don’t have to make any decisions about big things right away. I think we just focus on the good news until at least the first couple of appointments and then circle back. I’ll give an update on the new thread.
@emily313 cute ideas for the onesies! I really like hello daddy and plot twist. Shit just got real would also be funny but it would be nice to be able to dress baby in the onesie you tell dad with eventually. Can’t wait to see what you go with!
I see in the intros that we have quite a few people with losses in their histories - anyone interested in a PGAL check in? What about a high risk or geriatric pregnancy check in?

My 2014 group was part of a mass exodus, and then they left that new place, and then I couldn't remember how to find it! So here I am! Actually now that I am thinking about it I think maybe TB was using quotes from the boards in their content without people knowing that was going to happen and it was maybe not a great situation. Maybe that has since resolved? I hope.
