How are you feeling?: Overall really good, so far this has been a lot easier than my last pregnancy at this time (I was taken out by nausea, food aversions, dizziness and exhaustion by 6 weeks last time) so I'm trying to keep up with exercise, eating healthy and projects for as long as I can. I'm getting excited for my appointment, even though it's a week and a half away.
Rants/Raves: My rave is just how good I'm still feeling. We did a ton of heavy yard work in the heat all day yesterday and I definitely got more tired than I normally would but I was able to keep up and not feel terrible, which was nice.
Questions: None
GTKY: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? My husband is Japanese, although he doesn't look it, and he wants to go to Japan and see where his Grandma was from and I think it would be a really cool trip. Also, there are tons of national parks in the US I still need to see, if only they weren't so busy.
Upcoming Appointments: 7/31- the anticipation is killing me!
How are you feeling?: Exhausted. Unisom has helped, but I'm still up at night a lot, and dealing with pregnancy migraines. I got them frequently in my 20s, but not a whole lot recently. Since being pregnant, I've had 3. My boobs are bigger already, and very sore.
Rants/Raves: Honestly, I'm so tired, I don't have the energy to do either lol
Questions: What are your favorite go to breakfasts and snacks that are easy to prep ahead of time? If I don't eat, I get nauseous, so we end up buying a lot of breakfast sandwiches. In the spirit of saving for the baby, I need to kick this habit and meal prep some healthy options, just feeling uninspired.
GTKY: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? My dream trip would be to Greece, Turkey and Georgia.
Upcoming Appointments: 7/13 for ultrasound and intake
How are you feeling?: pretty good. Symptoms are really mild. Mostly I feel like a potato and don’t want to do anything. The big nausea hasn’t hit (yet).
Rants/Raves: my fuse has been short lately, which I don’t love. That’s not normally me at all. I’ve been taking some b6 for faint queasiness and took Unisom last night and I’ve felt like a different person today!
Questions: are you guys doing sneak peek? It’s my first time, though third pregnancy! I think I’ll be doubtful either way, but I couldn’t resist. They seem more reliant than in my previous pregnancy
GTKY: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Greece!!!!! My daughter actually got to go this summer and I’m jealous!
Upcoming Appointments: Just had my dating ultrasound and first in-person prenatal appt on Tuesday!
How are you feeling?: Mostly ok. Nausea starts in the late afternoon and usually means I'm skipping dinner and curling up on the couch.
Rants/Raves: I miss my very nice, regular digestion. As a veg, my diet was already high in fibre, so there is not a whole lot I seem to be able to do to improve my current "relaxed" state of motility.
Questions: Is anyone considering genetic testing? If so, which ones and when? We're trying to decide whether to get ones that have a high false positive rate...
GTKY: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Recently went to the Japanese gardens in Portland, OR. I would love to go back to Japan and see more of the country.
@emmylou78 I am not doing the sneekpeek because I always convince myself I just need to be patient like an extra 2 weeks to do the NIPT to get the same/more accurate results. I will be interested to hear how yours goes though!
Greece is so pretty! Your daughter is lucky.
@cioccolata16 I did the NIPT last pregnancy and will do it again this pregnancy. The way I see it, if I do get a false positive, it will just inform whether we should do some further, more accurate (although more invasive) testing. But I would rather know some of these things earlier. It's definitely not necessary to do any genetic testing, especially if you don't have any risk factors that are a concern.
The slowing of the digestive system was terrible for me last pregnancy, and I never found anything that really helped although it got a lot better in the second trimester for me. Hopefully it will be the same for you.
Preheat oven to 350. Place a baking sheet with about 1/2 in water on bottom rack. 9 eggs and 1.5 cups of cottage cheese in a blender. Season with salt and pepper if you like, but I feel the cottage cheese is salty enough alone.
Take a 12 cup muffin tin and spray with cooking spray. Put a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and diced ham in the bottom. Pour blended egg mixture on top and bake for 25 min.
I love Franks hot sauce on top! Soooo yummy and healthy, freeze well!
@knottie mmm.... that does sound delicious. I will have to try those. Also, if you haven't done so already, please change your username so you are easier to tag!
Re: Weekly Check In, Week of 7/3
As for recipes, these two are my favorite and are still tolerable to me right now

You could also meal prep breakfast sandwiches if those are hitting the spot for you 😊
