Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o July 10

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (if you've been):

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):

How are things going?:

Any questions?:

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in?

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o July 10

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): Natural cycle with acupuncture

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Acupuncture once a week

How are things going?: Good. I had acupuncture yesterday and my acupuncturist tried something different. He did the regular treatment with needles, but afterward also did some electrical stimulation (which sounds more intense than it actually was, I barely felt it). That was done on a few acupuncture points and he said it was to give my ovulation “a little extra zhuzh”

    Any questions?: Nope

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in?
I used to live in a high rise that was 22 stories and I went to the top of it once to see if it had roof access (it didn’t). I’ve been in taller buildings than that and I’ve probably been higher than 22 stories, but I think that’s the highest I’ve been to the top.
  • Loading the player...
  • Diagnosis (if you've been): N/A

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): IVF ICSI

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Just waiting for my beta

How are things going?: Tested out my trigger shot about two days ago so hopefully no false positives. The TWW sucks.

    Any questions?: Nope

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in? The CN Tower in Toronto! It had the glass floors too.
  • @britters314 I love the electrical stimulation from acupuncture! It helped me a lot for carpal tunnel in my arm and wrist.
  • @tangiblycool When is your beta? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
  • @tangiblycool When is your beta? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
It’s not till Sunday, feels like forever!
  • Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): natural cycle this month

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): natural cycle while we wait for meds to arrive/bloodwork to come back

How are things going?: Decently okay I think! The “hurry up and wait” part of IF can be so frustrating. We ordered all our IVF meds and are getting them delivered this week, I had a hysteroscopy last week which came back completely normal, and now are just waiting on some bloodwork results. I have pretty long cycles, which I’m actually grateful for this month. We’re waiting on genetic carrier testing to come back, and my RE won’t start me on stims until they have the results. I’m hoping that it’ll come back (and be fine) before I get my period. I had the blood draw about a week and a half ago, and still haven’t gotten a +OPK so I know I still have a couple weeks left!

Any questions?: I don’t think so!

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in? We went to the top of Rockefeller Center in NYC years ago. MH has a crippling fear of heights so he’s not too much fun to do those kinds of things with. He gets panicky when I want to go near the edge and then I feel bad and we leave so he can breathe again haha
  • Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, lupus anticoagulant antibodies, blocked left tube.

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched until I get my cycle back

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): still waiting on genetic testing from our last loss.

How are things going?: a little better. I’ve been getting the house ready to move into on Saturday. I’m exhausted.

    Any questions?:

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in? Potential TW - before the towers fell I went to the observation deck on the twin towers. Like 1998 ish. I think that’s the tallest.

  • Sorry for being MIA. We went on a little vacation before the 4th and this week was a big sales meeting so that ate up my days well into the evening.

Diagnosis (if you've been): autoimmune stuff, progesterone junkie

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): benched

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): My cycle came fast that was I was being a bit frantic about scheduling all the testing. Everything is done so far. Just waiting on the eye and skin exams.

How are things going?: Things are good. Life has been a little hectic but I don't mind. We had a big fight and kind of a side piece to that was about whether or not we'd remodel our house or move forward with finding a lot and building new. So DH has been looking into lots and understanding what all the maps mean as far as where it's possible to build on lots. I've already gotten a bunch of test results back so I'm excited to have my follow up in the coming weeks to hear what he considers my official diagnosis. The one remaining genetic test for Factor XIII showed that I have 1 mutation. My understanding is that it's an increased risk of miscarriages.

    Any questions?: Nope!

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in? I've been on the 93rd (or 96th?) floor of the John Hancock building in Chicago (or is it really called the Sears Tower or Willis Tower?). We were there for a 8th grade field trip.

@inthewoods23 The John Hancock building and the Sears/Willis Tower are different buildings. They both have observation decks so not sure which one you went to lol
  • @britters314 ah ok. I've always been unsure about that. It was definitely the John Hancock building. Is the Sears Tower the one next to it then?

No, the John Hancock building is about 2 miles northeast of the Sears Tower. Water tower place is the one next to John Hancock

ETA: Also I’m a little jealous you got to do that on your 8th grade trip. We did and 8th grade Chicago trip too but we didn’t get to go up in any tall buildings
  • @optimisticoctopus I hope you get those results back soon so you can get the ball rolling! 🤞🏼
@charmedlifex3 I’m glad you’re feeling a little better. Good luck with your big move!

Diagnosis (if you've been): DOR, RPL

Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): off the bench this cycle, back in business

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): natural cycle + progesterone. Medicated cycles start next month.

How are things going?: My chart is trolling me because of the progesterone supplements. I think I may not do BBT next month when we start medicated cycles. My RE said OPK were enough to get the timing right, and the LP temps aren’t real anyway.

    Any questions?: NATM

GTKY: What is the tallest building you’ve been to the top in? I have a fear of heights and I live in New England so not too much desire or opportunity.

    Month/Cycle: 10 * 12 / 10 * 12

    CD/DPO: 21/9dpo

    Timing: -2, O, +1

    Typical LP length: 14?

    Testing: not done yet

    R/R: No symptoms yet

    CS/Q:

Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained infertility

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): IUI

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole 7.5mg CD3-7, then hCG trigger shot on July 8 and IUI on July 10. Also on bromocriptine for elevated prolactin levels.

How are things going?: Not noticing any symptoms disappointed

Any questions?: does anyone know if it is okay to drink organic apple cider vinegar before during and after pregnancy?

    Thank you!
