Interesting baby fact / Baby is the size of: Haha I have no idea what he’s the size of, but he was estimated to be weighing 10oz on Friday and his legs were measuring almost 2 weeks ahead so he’s going to be SO long.
Upcoming appointments: Monday (I think the 26th?) for 20 week checkup
How are you feeling? Great! And now that we know we’re having a boy AND he has a name, I’m so anxious for him to arrive! Especially since we already have everything he needs because our almost 2 year old was born in the same season as this baby will be born in

GTKY: What is your favorite way to pamper yourself? Lol honestly? I don’t haha I prefer a nice date night out with my hubby since we never get any one on one time. I, for whatever reason, just never have any desire to do things for myself 😬 but there are moments I need some quiet/alone time and during that time I like to sit with a cup of coffee and read my Bible. I still haven’t read it all the way through but I’m determined to!

How are you feeling?: Good for the most part. Getting comfy in bed and sleeping through the night are both getting hard though. And, when I wake up in the middle of the night, I tend to not be able to go back to sleep for a couple hours. Last week, I woke up at 3am and by 5 I had woken DH up and said "Entertain me". I ended up in tears because I was so tired and couldn't fall back asleep. Finally somewhere around 6 but damn!
Rants / Raves: It's too flipping hot!! Heat indexes have been around 115 degrees here. I don't even want to go to the pool in that weather. It's must gross.
Today my boss told me that she and my coworkers want to throw me a virtual baby shower. I told her that's so sweet but they really don't need to. I mean, I think the only thing we NEED is a now car seat and stroller (we only have double strollers
). She said they really want to and I just thought that was incredibly sweet.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to pamper yourself?: Getting my nails done. I mean, I love a good massage but don't do that often. But every few weeks I go and get my nails done and it's an hour to an hour and a half of me time.

How are you feeling? better most days! I’ve stopped the unisom and my nausea seems ok but sleep is a bit of a struggle

GTKY: What is your favorite way to pamper yourself? Honestly I like just being left alone to read or watch whatever I want on tv or crochet.

My anatomy scan was supposed to be last week but the tech had an emergency and my dad had a stroke so it was rescheduled for Thursday.
Pretty good actually
Rants: my dad had a stroke last week and he's so stubborn and refused to see the neurologist. He seems to be okay but that was the scariest phone call I've ever gotten.
Raves: father's day was a really good day and we are officially half way done already!

I go to Sonic and buy a snack and drink and eat or taking a nice bath even though I haven't done that since before I got pregnant.

Rants / Raves:
Rants: I’m ready to move back up north. We can’t until next spring and I know it’ll sneak up on us fast but I wish we could go now lol. I’m so ready to be back in my mountains.
Raves: I harvested my first tomatoes and patty pan squashes! Already have some quarts of food put up for winter with more food coming in. I do it slower and have to take more breaks in the heat, but I’m actually managing to get all my summer stuff done thus far!

GTKY: What is your favorite way to pamper yourself?
I love thrifting which is weird because I hate having a lot of stuff. I am currently on a huge purging rampage of our whole house. Nothing is safe right now 😂. But I cook almost exclusively with cast iron, most of which has been thrifted. I love natural light so I love a good oil lamp or candlestick. I prefer natural fabrics like wool, linen, cotton, etc. and I’m slowly in the process of switching over our wardrobes to that. Plus I have been learning to sew and make braided rugs so I love collecting quality fabric. Give me an afternoon in a good thrift shop or flee market and I’m in heaven 😂
@ohsmith that’s terrifying about your dad! I’m glad to hear he seems to be doing okay now.

How are you feeling? Tired, but good. I have cramping when I'm more active, but I figure that's to be expected while chasing 3 other kids.
Rants / Raves: Raves: DS2 had his 3-year-old pictures today. I try really hard to get updated pictures every year with a photographer for birthdays and around Christmas for family Christmas cards. We had such a fun morning that ended with him playing in a fountain and eating lunch together. I always think of DS2 as my little guy, but he is the one who constantly surprises us with how fast he is growing up. Rants: I had my doctor's appointment this week, and the doctor was running late (finishing up an induction at the hospital), so the resident who has been shadowing her started my appointment. That part was fine, I usually don't care if resident's practice on me. He did the Doppler, and you could tell he was nervous about it, but he listened to my HB half the time. I finally told him I thought that was my HB because it was super loud and way too slow. He found the baby, but I had to request my doctor redo it because I didn't trust his HB reading for the baby after that. I don't love my doctor, but there aren't any other good options in town. I wasn't too worried about it because we were supposed to move, but now DH is thinking about staying at his current job, which would mean I would have to keep her.
Questions: Where is everyone getting their infant car seats? I was going to use DS1's car seat, but it's a Graco, and if I'm reading everything correctly, it expires after 7 years. I'm super lucky because if that's the case, it will expire the week before my due date.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to pamper yourself? On the rare occasion that I'm on my own for a day/evening, I like sleeping in later (hello 8 am lol), have a lazier day, and then order dinner from wherever catches my fancy. When I was battling PPD after DS3, I found that sitting in the car wash turned my brain off, so sometimes I still will order fast food and eat it in the automatic car wash. It's kind of weird, but effective.
@ashsowers2020 A date night sounds fantastic! We rarely get a night out by ourselves, but they are so much fun when we do.
@UnwritteN12 I don't know how you can deal with that heat index - it makes me start to sweat just thinking about it lol. I'm the opposite of you on the stroller front. We only have single strollers, and I'm going to need a double. DS2 hated riding in the stroller after he could walk/run well enough, so we didn't need a double for him and DS3. DS3 isn't walking yet and prefers to roll down the sidewalk in style.
@varimama I'm glad your nausea is doing better!
@ohsmith I'm so sorry your dad had a stroke! That is so scary! I also enjoy Sonic. Do you usually get the same thing? This baby has loved the chili cheese fries or tots.
@Kiek It is crazy to me that it is already time for tomatoes to be in season. I need your motivation to purge in our house. We are currently renting, but looking to buy, so the more I purge, the less I have to pack lol.

How are you feeling? Overall can't complain but the round ligament pain has been horrible!!
Rants / Raves: All went well with my anatomy scan other than I have a low lying placenta. They said it should move so I'm hopeful! But baby boy looked good. Also it's been chilly here considering it's summer! I'm ready for some heat!
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite way to pamper yourself? I love a massage now and then. Also love to grab some fresh cut flowers from the local roadside stand ($5!!). And nothing beats a hot shower alone.

How are you feeling?
Overwhelmed. There's been a lot of information to take in over the past week, and a lot to mentally and emotionally prepare for. I keep reminding myself, this is a hard situation not a hopeless one. Continuing to speak life and healing over baby Evie, and any prayers she can get are much appreciated.
Rants / Raves:
Rant: My 7-year-old is soooo dramatic. She's currently out of state spending a couple of weeks with my parents, and she's having a blast. I told her she can call me any time she needs too, even if I'm at work or it's at night, and told her if I don't answer immediately I'll get back to her really quickly. Well, this afternoon I had a phone appointment to set up WIC benefits for me, baby, and my two younger ones. Of course, DD1 tries to call me while I'm on the phone for that appointment. I decline the video call and send her a text that I'm on the phone and will call her back as soon as I'm done. Y'all. This kid proceeds to call me 15 more times and send me 9 different voice and video messages while I'm on the call. I can't hear the messages while on the phone, but I can see in the videos that she's crying and upset, so I get through the phone call as fast as possible thinking maybe she's homesick and missing me (I know she's not hurt or anything because then it'd be my mom or sister getting ahold of me). I call her back-- and she just wanted to know if she was allowed to download a game on her phone that her cousin has and was upset I was taking too long to respond.
Rave: I had to go to L&D triage yesterday due to decreased fetal movement... once they turned on the ultrasound machine I saw she's moving around plenty, just not hard enough to feel. So that was a huge relief. After the AEDF diagnosis last week, they drilled into me that keeping a close eye on how much she's moving is key gauging her health between scans right now so I was definitely scared. But the team was so nice and encouraging while I was there, and she's just as active as can be.
Questions:
For any mommas who have had extended hospital stays (MFM told me to expect to be admitted between 24-26 weeks for monitoring) -- what were some things you found you most needed or wanted to have with you at the time? Trying to not over or under-pack my go bag.

I love a warm epsom salt bath and getting a chance to read a good book without being interrupted every 2 minutes. (Ask me if it ever happens....)
That’s so scary but I’m so happy baby Evie was moving around and being active!
