Has anyone had an inconclusive (hcg between 5-25) blood test? Hoping it’s just still early but a little nervous the low levels of hcg might mean it’s not a viable pregnancy. According to my last period I would be 4 weeks and 2 days.
How can your HCG test be inconclusive? It's either a qualitative test for + or - in which if the HCG is above a certain number (25?) it's +. If it's below 25, it's -, meaning you are considered NOT medically PG at this time. The other type of HCG test is quantitative and they will give you a number, even if that number is 7. Trust me, I've had 7 come back on my HCG tests. That's still 'PG' but barely so, and usually these tests are used for tracking purposes for high risk PGs.
You should call your doctor if you are confused or concerned about your test results.

It was a qualitative and levels were in that grey area of between 5-25 so my results said hcg was out of range and the result was indeterminate. I asked my OB since I was confused and she said she wasn’t sure she had never seen that before. The lab recommended to retest in 2-4 days to see if the low levels of hcg continue to rise. I was curious if this is something common or just my luck 🥴
Usually a qualitative test like that is ONLY done to confirm a yes/no to PG. And 25 is usually the amount of "yes you're PG." It could be that you're just super early and were able to get a BFP at home on a more sensitive test. Hopefully your provider requested a QUANTITATIVE test for the next one. Because if not, and you had a super low number, it could double and still be 'inconclusive.' I don't understand why your doctor is even doing these tests. The whole point of HCG betas is doing a Quantitative test, to get the numbers, to see if it's doubling every 48 hours. Unless you KNOW exactly what day you ovulated (which means you HAD to be BBTing or something similar), you have NO way of knowing exactly how far along you are definitively. So a low number like 7 could be totally fine at your stage, IF it doubles every 48 hours showing a normally progressing PG.
I've had 5 MCs. So I've had to track my HCG up and then track it back down. I've had original numbers in the single digits and teens on my HCG tests. I'm not a success case though, so I don't think you want to compare notes.
My last PG I had them call in a beta test, and the OB's office called to confirm I was PG with a 'positive HCG test' and I was like "What was the number?" And they were all "It was just Yes/No, so above 25!" I'm like... "you freaking morons.... I peed on a damned stick at home, I already know it's positive. I need the NUMBER." Anywho, they'd switched hospital/doctor companies and it was a PIA. So maybe your doctor is confused because they called in a Quantitative Test and got a Qualitative Test Result? Or your doctor has ZERO experience with MC, and I would find a new OB.

Sorry I wasn’t trying to be a creeper with giving you my number. I just needed someone to talk to… I retested and it’s positive this time. Thank you for all the information I really appreciate it and I’m so sorry about the MC’s. Praying you will be blessed with a healthy baby.
Firstly congratulations!!! Hey I tested positive on a HPT 3 days before my period (a shock but I just knew) - same next day and GP scheduled a blood test to check the HGC levels - came back as 25 and positive but she wanted to re test to check they went up - they are now 145 ish and that equates to 4 weeks which equates to the date I think I conceived.
