No appetite/ food aversions 16 weeks

I’m really struggling to eat over the last few weeks. I’m having a lot of food aversions and really don’t have much of an appetite at all so I get busy and just don’t think about it. Today for example I just realized it’s 4:30 pm and I’ve only eaten a hashbrown from McDonalds and a hand full of sun chips. Any tips from anyone else who may have experienced this?

  • Hi, I’m almost 19 weeks. First pregnancy. I didn’t have an appetite until a couple of weeks ago. Now I’m HUNGRY. Try to eat what you can and don’t worry yourself too much. You’ve got plenty of time to get that appetite up. It will happen on its own.

  • This is my second pregnancy. With both this one and the last, nothing sounded good. With this pregnancy, my husband can mention a restaurant and I throw up. It's been no fun. Baked potatoes have been my go to and fruit. When I feel a little better, I try to eat better. It's hard though!

  • I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but don't worry, you can start feeling better in about 3 or 4 days if you completely cut out grains and processed foods and sugar, even though people say to eat grains to settle your stomach. It might be hard because you may only desire certain foods but it will improve after a few days. Youre going to be okay, hang in there!!

Start eating plain leafy greens like arugula salad and spinach with some olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. Eat asparagus cooked in olive oil and put lemon and garlic on it. Only drink water or sparkling water and a little bit of tea or coffee. If you need sugar use monk fruit (stevia) instead. Avoid crackers, chips, breads, a ton of carbs and instead try to eat salmon or cod. Start eating sunflower seeds and other healthy nuts.

    I hope you feel better!
