1st Trimester

Twins?

My doc clearly said one baby, but I keep getting asked if it’s twins based on my 6 week ultrasound because of the second “blob.” Any ideas?

Um, who is the trained ultrasound tech who does these for a living?  Hmm. My money is to the expert tech, not non-medical people.

obviously. I was asking if anyone knew what the second blob was. Please don’t be rude about it.
  • It might be the yolk sac? That would be connected to the baby, and looks like it might be...so hard to tell with these.

Interesting question though, maybe you could bring the pic with you to your next appointment :)
  • The yolk sac was my thought too if this is in fact a singleton pregnancy. Although my yolk sac didn't look like that at my 6w4 ultrasound. It was round, not oval.

I would ask your doc of their opinion of what that blob is.
