Anyone’s first period postpartum insanely heavy with lots of clots? I’ve had my period for about 6 days now. Started off as spotting, then 2 days ago turned very heavy and painful. I went to my obgyn yesterday and they did a pelvic ultrasound. They said everything looked normal and saw nothing concerning. They told me the bleeding can be heavy for the first period after giving birth, but I’ve never experienced anything like this, not even after my first daughter’s birth. My flow is the heaviest after I stand up from sitting for awhile, so much that it’s soaking through the pad. Has anyone else had really heavy periods like this? And if so, how long did they last?
Re: First postpartum period
In terms of duration, every person's experience can vary. Some people may have a heavy period for a few days, while others may experience it for a week or more. It's important to keep track of your symptoms and contact your healthcare provider if they worsen or if you have any concerns.
In the meantime, try to take it easy and rest as much as possible. You can also use a heating pad or take over-the-counter pain medication to help alleviate any discomfort. Make sure to stay hydrated and change your pads frequently to avoid any potential infection.
