B6 for morning sickness

I am 6 weeks and have had morning sickness pretty much around the clock the last week. My doctor prescribed 100mg b6. Anyone who has taken it before, how long until you had some relief?  Good ol’ google said a week, but does it start easing off at all before then?
Thanks mamas!

I know for some people it's pretty fast, the same day you start taking it. I had a slight decrease in my nausea 1-2 weeks after I started taking it, but it wasn't a dramatic cure by any means. The nausea was still always there (until nearly 20 weeks for me), it just wasn't as overpowering. But it's really different for everyone! I hope you get relief quickly! Remember to also eat small snacks all day long (never let your tummy be empty), and my midwife recommended far+protein to keep the nausea at bay (think nuts, eggs), which I think worked better then the bland foods like crackers that the ob recommended. You can also try Sea Bands.
  • Thank you! I will try the fat and protein tip for sure.  I feel like I have been eating nonstop, but am just stuck in a starving, nauseous loop. I had morning sickness with my first, but I do not remember being this miserable!

  • I got relief same day. I take 25mg three times a day and add a 1/2 pill of Unisom at night. The difference has been pretty dramatic for me. I was having nausea nearly 24/7 with vomiting every other day or so. I’ve been taking the B6/Unisom combo for about 3 weeks now and I still get nausea occasionally. Maybe every other day or so for an hour or less. I have vomited only one or twice and that was when I was late in taking a dose. As long as I take my doses on time I feel *almost* normal.
    I’m 10 weeks today.
  • So glad you got some relief! That gives me some hope. I am only on day 2 of b6 and so far I’m not super impressed. I am wondering if maybe I need to spilt my dose up throughout the day instead of the one 100mg tablet. I haven’t tried the Unisom yet, I was hoping to the b6 alone would help.
