Cooking/crafting/making/baking May

Re: Cooking/crafting/making/baking May

  • It’s finally warming up in New England! I’ve got my tomatoes and peppers hardening off and we had our first meal of asparagus from the garden. Had these beauties with chickpeas, feta, and marinated tomatoes over quinoa. It was fab.

  • Ahhh that sounds so good @maggiemadeit.  I grabbed a bunch at the store yesterday and sautéed them with some onion … it didn’t hit quite right flavor-wise—trying your combo with the next bunch!  Bonus kudos for home grown too, I love that 🌱

  • Just planted some fruit bushes in our yard (wild black currant) and I’m super excited to get some fresh berries from them. I don’t remember if they fruit the first year, though, so I guess I’ll just wait and see.

(Sorry if the pic ended up huge, I’m doing this on mobile)
  • Looking good @britters314! We have blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, but the truth is I haven’t figured out pest control so the critters eat most of it!
