  • Just got an email that Natera received my bloodwork for the NIPT. How long did it take everyone to get their NIPT results back? I'm waiting with bated breath

Just found out this morning that my Dad decided to tell all of his brothers and sisters that I'm pregnant this weekend, despite previous instructions not to. I sent immediate family some videos of us announcing the news to our kids, so he took that to mean it was okay for him to go ahead and tell everyone. I care less about people knowing and more about the fact that he did it without my consent, without my knowledge, and without any regard for the fact that it wasn't his announcement to make. I feel so angry and sad that he's taken this away from me in my last pregnancy.

  • @mrsmtothek aw come on dad, he should know better by now!! I'm sorry that happened though, I would be so frustrated
  • @nomangos23 mine was a different company, but once they received it I got my results in 24 hours!
  • @mrsmtothek I’m so sorry he did that, this is our last too and I’m finding myself way more protective over any pregnancy info than with my other two.

  • @nomangos23 I think I got my results 3 days after that email.
  • We are telling everyone and I feel like a weight is off me. I was seriously struggling to conceal this pregnancy with my wardrobe so I’m glad to have one thing off my plate

omg y'all swear went to bed normal last night and BAM WOKE UP LIKE THIS. Adding onto this post, I would like suggestions for support garments or belts that don't minimize the bump because I've worked hard to get here but my back is hurting Imaoooo

  • The last time I saw my endocrinologist (late February), he said "Look at me....you need to go see your doctor and do some sort of birth control because you cannot be on medication x while pregnant". Cool cool. Didn't think I could get pregnant again on my own but little did I know I already was pregnant. I found out like a week and a half later. So today I have a follow up with him and have to tell him. I am not excited. I mean, it's a good thing he said that because I stopped taking that medication right away. He's just one if those doctors where you know he's going to be disappointed. Ugh.

  • @mrsmtothek ugh that is so frustrating!!

@unwritten12 at least you knew to get off the medicine right away, so that was helpful! I hope he will be more supportive/not disappointed like you're expecting!
  • @UnwritteN12 aww I hope it goes better than expected, doctors shouldn’t be disappointed in my opinion bc you are literally paying them to help you! It rubs me the wrong way when doctors are judgmental like that! Plus it’s not like you ignored him, it was already too late!

  • @UnwritteN12 Why would he be disappointed? I don’t understand why doctor’s act like that sometimes. I see an endocrinologist regularly, and I messaged her and let her know so we could adjust bloodwork schedules and appointments. Hopefully your appointment went well!
  • Thanks guys! It did go better than expected. He was just very surprised. Overall I like this doctor, but you can tell that he's disappointed in you when something isn't great.

Has anybody else heard of "Confederate Memorial Day"? I didn't know it was a thing until I moved to South Carolina. It's today, and it's a state holiday, and I'm a state employee so my office is closed. But schools and daycare are open and I don't feel like sitting around the house today because I'll feel obligated to get stuff done. I just don't want to do housework right now. So instead, I got it approved to come into work in the empty office by myself so I can build up comp leave time that I will likely need for all my appointments and everything. Thankful they let that be an option for me.

Since I didn't have to be here at a specific time, I took the time to grab Starbucks on the way in. I had points to use for a free drink, so I got a trenta toffee nut white mocha iced coffee with vanilla sweet cream (only uses half the stars I would have used for an iced white mocha); and they accidentally made two. So I got two free coffees. Today's off to a decent start, I must say.

Edited to add - I'm not drinking both trenta iced coffees today. Removing the ice and storing in the refrigerator so I can enjoy the second one tomorrow without it being watered down.

I'm so sorry that the announcement rights got taken away from you. I'm sure he meant the best, but that doesn't make it any better. That was your news to share. I can relate -- my mom cannot keep any news to herself to save her life. When I found out I was pregnant with my first, it was a Sunday morning and I told my mom right after telling my husband. I didn't plan to share the news with anyone else just yet. However, by the time I got to church that morning everyone already knew. I know it was just because she was excited, but I didn't think it was fair that I couldn't announce in my own time and in my own way. From that point on, I haven't shared pregnancy news with her that I wasn't ready to be public knowledge.

Just got an email that Natera received my bloodwork for the NIPT. How long did it take everyone to get their NIPT results back? I'm waiting with bated breath
I got my NIPT done through Natera as well. I got my blood drawn on a Wednesday, they emailed me that the lab received my sample that Friday, and I had my Panorama NIPT results the following Wednesday. I got the Horizon carrier screen done too, and that took about 6 days longer to get the results.
  • @mrsmtothek - I am so sorry that that happened. I'd be livid. I don't understand why anyone (including parents) feel like it's their right to share such personal news without the ok first. Before telling my MIL anything, I have to tell DH to make sure he tells her that she can't share the information until she gets our blessing. She has a big mouth unfortunately.

Also, someone please come remove the massive bag of Funyuns from my hands! They're my most recent craving. Why can't I crave carrots or cucumbers or something healthy?!

  • @chrissdee I've never heard of that holiday. Lucky you on the free coffee! I love when stuff like that happens.

We're moving in a few weeks and I got all set up with a new provider there! I was a little worried because they "needed to review my files" to decide if they would accommodate me... thankfully my current provider sent everything over quickly and the new provider accepted me as a new patient
  • Thanks everyone for the support - it's so appreciated. Unfortunately my father did this for my other two pregnancies so I shouldn't have been surprised (even though I reminded him multiple times), but I guess because it's my last I feel more protective (like you were saying @varimama). I've forgiven him and moved on, all I can do at this point.

@UnwritteN12 other than salads I've been craving ZERO veggies so I feel you on this one :# AND I gained 2 lbs over the weekend woohooo let's goooo. ughhh

  • @mrsmtothek - thats so frustrating! I don't understand why people feel the need to share other people's news.

@UnwritteN12 I'm glad it went well! I was so hesitant to tell my therapist since we had JUST made a plan for post breastfeeding medication route ::smacks forehead:: But he took it alright.

@chrissdee - I've never heard of that holiday! I'm in the south but didn't grow up here.

  • I thought I was pretty much over all the nausea. But then my coworker who brings hardboiled eggs to snack on at her desk everyday came back after spending a month out of state, and it's back with a vengeance. Next time I puke, it's going to be in her office.
  • @chrissdee Oh that is awful even when not pregnant. I fully support getting sick in her office.
  • @chrissdee she needs to take those snacks outside

I finally caved and bought new bra. I haven’t bought a new bra in YEARS! I like my bras like I like my sweatpants, old and broken in 😂. But my boob changes this pregnancy are just too much and I couldn’t hold off lol. Tried a few on and nothing was fitting. Had the 20 year old measure me in the store…I wasn’t even in the same universe as to what I needed 😂. Everything about being in my 30s has been like going through puberty all over again lol. I’m pretty sure I needed a new bra long before this pregnancy but I hate bra shopping

@chrissdee omg! My nausea is gone but I still gag easily. That would probably send me over the edge 💀
  • @Kiek I hate bra shopping too! I really need to go get fitted at some point but I haven’t brought myself to do it yet 🤣 Good for you for going!
