How are you feeling? Overall, pretty good.  I have waves of nausea, but no vomiting.  The heartburn/acid reflux has really been my biggest issue.

Questions for STM+? When does it really start to feel real? When we were at the ultrasound it finally started to feel real, but on a day-to-day basis I feel more like I ate too much and have heartburn/gas rather than pregnant.

Are you doing anything to capture/journal your pregnancy? I haven't started anything yet.  I do want to do belly pictures, but I feel like I'm too self-conscious to start before you can really tell because I don't want to just look fat, haha.  Definitely the history of body dysmorphia/eating disorders from high school/college creeping in...

How are you feeling? I’ve been super nauseated and ridiculously exhausted. I’m starting to have some food aversions too, so I’m mostly focused on getting as much fluids and nutrition in me as possible. My doc told me to start taking B6 and Unisom so hopefully that helps

Questions for STM+? Any tips for dealing with unsolicited advice? My father in law means well, but I might lose it if he tells me to “take rest” or “be careful to not make any sudden, fast movements” one more time 😅

Are you doing anything to capture/journal your pregnancy? Yes, I have a pregnancy journal where I am documenting things month by month. I also take a weekly photo because I like seeing the progression
  • @dmcg17, with my first definitely the first u/s. After my last loss, the symptoms are helping things feel real, but IDK if it'll feel settled and real until I'm out of the first trimester. PGAL brain is literally the worst.

@parthi_baby OMG I feel that. Usually a "i'm following my drs advice and they said what i'm doing is fine" sometimes gets them to shut up. But some people just won't let it go.

@stashattack I think that's part of my problem honestly.  Even with all the symptoms and the first U/S going well, I am still paranoid every time I go to the bathroom and every time it feels a little too wet down there (sorry if TMI, haha).  I'm hoping maybe after my next U/S and once we start sharing the news it'll feel more real.

@parthi_baby That is one thing I'm definitely not looking forward to once we start telling people.  When I had the CP last year I was told to, "take better care of myself" so I can only imagine what I'm going to hear... Just know that you know what's best and what your doctor recommends and breathe through everything else.
  • @dmcg17 same even though even in my first pregnancy my discharge was like a faucet. Definitely not TMI here LOL.

How are you feeling? Exhausted but so excited. We were TTC for two years and had given up and were moving towards adoption. We are feeling some loss regarding the adoption as we did have our heart set on a particular child and were moving towards adopting her (with a million steps in the way still. There was still a good chance we wouldn't get her).

Questions for STM+? At what point do you start buying maternity clothes? I only wear jeans so as soon as I start to grow, I'm going to need something else to wear asap. Should I just buy them now?

Are you doing anything to capture/journal your pregnancy? Not yet but my husband thought about making a scrapbook. At first I thought it was funny, but this is probably our only bio-child, so I'm thinking maybe it would be a good idea.
  • @dmcg17 I want to do bumpdates too  but I haven't started yet for the exact same reason as you!! I think I'll take the first pic closer to 10 weeks?

@lexieb98 Ugh, it's so hard! Cuz like I obviously know I'm gonna gain weight and get a belly (which I'm super excited for) but I'm feeling super blah right now because you can't tell I'm pregnant, I just look like I ate too much, hahaha. I think 10 weeks might be a good start.
  • @lexieb98 I feel like I got mine towards the end of the first trimester? But I was still fitting into regular pants until mid/late summer with some stuff. I try and get a lot of mine second hand since it's only worn a limited amount of time!

7 weeks today! We are officially a blueberry (or bigger, tbd!)

Feeling rough, I broke my hand the same day we found out we're pregnant. I had reconstruction surgey 3 days later so my dominant hand is currently immobile. I know that and the fact I'm feeling all the symptoms is weighing on us both.

If it's written down as a possibility, I've got it. The nausea and exhaustion are ridiculous. I suspect I'm 1 week further than the online estimates due to my shorter cycle of 23 days, and the severity of my pregnancy symptoms. We're hoping it's twins that is the cause of this.

Questions for STM+: I have had them since before testing positive - are the symptoms seriously this strong so early? Am I crazy to suspect it must be another reason (further along/multiples) or are singletons this heavy?

Are you doing anything to capture/journal your pregnancy? Nope, not currently. We are taking ot day by day and most of our focus is on healing my hand.
  • @jax_z symptoms don't really correlate to anything unfortunately. My symptoms hit strong starting at 6w with this pregnancy and my first. I've only ever had singletons. 7w isn't too early for strong symptoms.

Yeah that is my conflict with buying maternity clothing, is it's going to be absolutely useless to me. This is also probably our only bio kiddo. We worked hard for this and it's likely to make my disability worse, so I doubt more bio kids are in the future. Maybe I'll search the local moms page for some maternity leggings or something!

    @dmcg17
I literally just got done standing in front of the mirror going "am I fat, bloated, or pregnant with twins" XD The answer is bloated but boy do I wish I was showing. I'm also simultaneously prepping for how to hide my bump when my parents visit in July so we can actually do an announcement with them verses them showing up at the airport to my big pregnant belly lol

How are you feeling? Honestly not great the last few days. Symptoms have ramped back up and I’m experiencing extreme mood swings. This weekend I haven’t really wanted to get out of bed/leave the house. I hate not feeling like myself and want to cry a lot. 😩 my next scan isn’t for another week and anxiety is creeping back in. We shared our news with some close friends on Friday and the fear of again having to share the news of a MC is anxiety inducing.

Questions for STM+? Why didn’t any of my mom friends warn me first trimester was THIS tough??🤣

Are you doing anything to capture/journal your pregnancy? Not really
  • @lexieb98 check out poshmark too!!

@dogmom512 idk but sometimes it hard to describe things adequately until you're knee deep in them. I also feel the same way of the survival mode of the first 3-6 months postpartum

@lexieb98 If it wasn't July I'd say wear a big sweatshirt or something, haha.  Do you have a plan for how you want to announce? I keep trying to come up with cute ways to tell our families and I am struggling with ideas for my in-laws. For my side it's the first grandchild, so there's all the fun "promoted to..." stuff, but we have a nephew on my husband's side and I can't think of anything fun (also I don't think my husband really cares about doing a big reveal type of thing, but I've had a secret Pinterest board for YEARS and I'm excited to finally be able to do stuff with).
  • @stashattack So I actually went on facebook yesterday and found someone getting rid of all her maternity clothes for $25 so I picked them up today! And she said they'll give us their baby swing when they move in a month. The one benefit of the military life is everyone is constantly pregnant and moving.

@dmcg17 In the maternity clothes I bought today there was a cute flowy dress that should work to hide it! We are in England so it might be cold enough to wear a sweatshirt! Last year it was blisteringly hot and the cars here never have AC... I honestly was thinking of having them unwrap a box with grandma and grandpa mugs or something. My sister is currently 24 weeks pregnant with their first grandkid so I'm kind of at a loss for what to do. I genuinely do not care how we tell my in-laws because they are less than supportive so I'm leaving that up to my husband.
