No yolk sac around 5 weeks

I found out I was pregnant on April 9th and had an early sonogram because of an ectopic pregnancy I had last year. I was roughly 5 weeks and 4 days at the sonogram but they couldn’t see the yolk sac. My hcg levels are rising as normal so the doctor said it is probably too early to see and I am scheduled for another sonogram in 2 weeks. Is this normal? I’m so anxious because of my past experiences.

    Hi there!  I was recently at the hospital for possible ectopic pregnancy.  I had 2 ultrasounds within a week and nothing showed.  However, once my HCG reached above 1500, they were able to see a gestational sac.  Its hard to determine the exact date of conception, so you could be a bit earlier than you think.  Try not to worry (I know, so hard).  I am still worried as I have not heard the heartbeat yet.  Even then, there is always something to worry about.  

    My next sono is 5/8.  When is yours?

    Hi! My next sono is 5/1. Im so paranoid about everything. I had some spotting today which is making me even more nervous! Im praying for good news on Monday. I am glad to hear you saw the sac and your hcg is rising! My hcg was at 5600 last Thursday which helped a bit. Praying all is normal and we both hear heartbeats at our next appts!

    I had the exact thing happen to me through an abdominal scan. I have my first appointment today, I will let you know how it went 🤞🏼
