Tooth brushing struggles

My daughter is about to turn two, and I feel like we never really get her teeth brushed well. We’ve tried doing it together, which kind of worked for a while. The problem is that she doesn’t want me to help her. She’ll hold the brush in her mouth and chew on it, but she obviously doesn’t get her teeth cleaned well. I tried holding her down with her arms under my legs, but that was horrific for both of us. I’m afraid she’s going to get cavities before she starts kindergarten! Any suggestions?

  • With my daughter (2years) I tell her first mamas going to brush your teeth, and as soon as I finish I’ll give you the toothbrush and you do it. You could also try giving her one and you use another so she feels like she’s doing it too. I have to do that when I clean her ears out with the baby q-tips she gets one to do one ear and I do the other then we switch
