Two bedroom place. We have a lot of unfinished pine style furniture. This baby will be in my bedroom for a while, which also has greens, forest tapestry, black and white nature art, etc. DS (and eventually both sons) bedroom is pretty chaotic right now 😂 How do you have a kid room theme with so many toys?? I think it would be cute to do a woodland/camping style room for them
I usually stick with a pretty neutral theme and decorate more once I know the sex. Or in my daughter's case when she was a year old and actually had a nursery for the first time
I don’t really have a theme. We’re planning sage green for the walls and I bought this sign from a friend yesterday since he’s my rainbow baby: (ignore my messy desk)
For my first baby we weren't able to set up a nursery beforehand but we did a cactus theme. This time we are looking forward to setting up the nursery before baby comes (since we actually have a stable place to live, lol) and we are doing an underwater theme, heavy on the sea turtles.
When we moved into our house, both kid rooms already had decals all over the walls that are ADORABLE so we left them. My daughter has a peach-colored room with trees, little woodland critters (like squirrels and deer and bunnies) and birds in charcoal and teal, and it's just precious. Baby is a little more neutral (it was a boy's room for the last family) so it's a gray room with white birch trees, birds, and owls. It makes decor a little easier (I don't have to buy anything or worry about something falling in the crib) but I do sort of wish there was a color accent. I'll probably add that with a throw pillow on the glider (that we still need to get) or one or two pictures on the wall or a bright changing pad cover. We use QuickZip sheets and already had them in gray and white so using a fun crib sheet is sort of out (because the zip function is WAY MORE VALUABLE than having more color) and we'll take the closet doors off because it's a sliding door and those drive me nuts so there goes that.
These all sound so cute! Tbh I’m probably going to be a boring mom here and not have a theme or do much decorating… I think it’s fun to look at rooms on Pinterest but decorating is not a thing I enjoy at all. And since we don’t know what we are having anyway….
Maybe it’ll all change once kiddos here but for now I’m just going to be boring for myself and enjoy everybody else’s hard work on Pinterest/here! :P
I went all out with very bright pink colors with our first and then we had a second girl so just kept everything the same. We moved a couple years ago and we painted everything muted colors at the new house. I would have made baby boy’s room green but my 4 year olds favorite color is green and I’m not about to repaint her room.
We are actually done with the nursery already just because scheduling we don’t have time anymore until July to do anything big around the house. I chose a muted grey/blue color. I re-used some Peter Rabbit prints passed down from my grandparents and were also used in the girls nursery. We still have the same dark mocha colored crib and changing table that we used before. Pretty simple as he will mostly sleep in our room at first anyways.
